I'm not fully in the apple ecosystem any longer (I don't have an iPhone), so the continuity which does look cool, won't help me much. I like the UI, and the search is nice.

The iCloud drive appears to be a nice answer for dropbox if it wasn't for the fact that you only get 5GB. By itself that's nice, but when you consider iOS backups (I have an ipad), emails, and what not. That space is used up as it is.

People crying over the new dock...I mean c'mon, it doesn't even look bad. Maybe you like the 3D look of the previous docks to say this is ugly just isn't true. I like the old dock too but the attacks on this new one is crazy to me. I feel everyone is saying it's bad just to be in the 'it' crowd. But I dunno, just my opinion.

Gotta love all the ex-PC fanatics who switched to Mac a few years ago for "trend reasons" telling us how much they love the design. Well of course you do lol.
Warning: expect comments from a few long-time Apple users who will tell me how awesome they find it as well, to prove me wrong.

It's okay honestly. Nothing too bad, but not a real hit or anything either… we'll survive.

I know. Long time Apple (pre-Mac) user. I thought all the "I hate the look" from the leaked desktop earlier today (just the dock, few icons and awesome wallpaper) was a bit premature, but there were tons of haters.

Minium Specs:

" "•"iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)"
"•"MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)"
"•"MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)"
"•"MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)" "•"Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)" "•"Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)" "•"Xserve (Early 2009)"

"•"At least 2 GB of RAM "
"•"At least 10 GB of available disk space (50 GB if you wish to use Caching Server)" "

Thanks. So basically, if you can run Mavericks, you can run Yosemite.

also did anyone except for me lament the fact that there was nothing said about the server app...?

i mean i suppose they have not entirely lost interest in the enterprise crowd... but still c'mon all new os ui and fancy user gadgetries... but no server appp...???

Disappointed that the Finder folder icon is just that, an dumb blue icon. Why can't they introduce a stack icon as used in the Dock?

support for advanced HTML5 video, allowing for a 2 hour increase in battery life when streaming Netflix

I thought Netflix streaming was Silverlight-only? HTML5 streaming would be great.

Thanks for the update. I was waiting for the specs to be released. thankfully my Mid 2009 MBP is still able to get the updates.

What's the prices on iCloud storage?
Is 20GB $0.99?

Why is Apple naming the operating systems (they really don't call it "10.10" they call it "Yosemite" but calling the iOS versions by number, like "8"???

But looking at "About my Mac" it only lists my OS as 10.9.3 and doesn't say "Mavericks"... Weird!?!

Gary

The same reason Harleys make lots of noise...."because they can".

Surely the public beta should have started today too? Aren't we meant to be IN the summer now? I hope by "summer" they don't mean "the end of August." I'm really hoping the public beta will be available in a week or two at most.

Summer (in the Northern Hemisphere, at least) starts June 21 (i.e., three weeks from today).

I wouldn't expect the public beta until mid-July (or so) - need to give the developers time to squash the most egregious bugs before opening it up to the public.

Just THANKS to apple to have this picture on their site... So i believe they will adapt their price as they now have the functionality directly in spotlight

1 Dollars US != 1 EURO !!! :) :p :p :p

Devil is in the details

I like the overall look. Anyway a small glitch to me are the window control colors. Red is too pinky and green is too bright.

For those with developer access that are still having trouble accessing the Yosemite download, I found that I had to click on the new legal agreement (the yellowish bar at the top of the page) and scroll through it to get to the agree button. After I agreed, the link for Yosemite redemption code became available.
