Wow apple has a cult following, Apple could of put out a 4S with just A5 and it would of sold like hot cakes. Might have to pick up one of this bad boys, don't want to feel left out, lol

Numbers this big are proof that Apple is mainstream not a cult.

Wait till they announce the 3GS numbers for the fourth quarter, should see more of these end up in people's hands than any single model of Android, Windows, Blackberry or Symbian OS device as well.

That's just great. The claim isn't even sourced. It's just plain opinion and yet it's allowed to sit there.

And the page is semi-protected, so I guess it can't be changed.

You need to have a registered acct with wikipedia in order to change it...so in other words...these android fans, went to wikipedia, created an account and edited the Apple Inc page just to bash Apple....its reached a whole new level of sadness

True but this is merely an example Google is setting. Without specs Android will have little to sell itself over iPhone. So Google is telling other Android manufacturers this is how the new Android phones should be marketed. Also don't forget the halo effect.

Here's an idea, worry about your customers first by controlling the software and hardware integration. Next clean up the Android market place by doing a better job of approval of apps that go in to it. Because the Android market place is filled with malware apps it tells me Google has its priorities elsewhere. I could care less about the next generation hardware specs if the software that runs on the current device is crappy.

I hear the Anti-Apple people state things like "at least there aren't any fart apps in the Android market place". That may be true but can those same people know that the app that they just downloaded is not a malware app?

I think it's you who still don't get it. Sales matter to Apple not me and not you. Are you Apple?

Whatever matter's to you is not relevant. No one cares. Now do what your name implies, li lo. Apple folk are talking.

Believe me there are plenty of fart apps in the market place. And what makes it even more funny is you can have apps that have the exact same name, company name too that are malware.

So you can go and download the Google+ app, from Google, Inc. and it can be a spoofed app which is malware....ridiculous. Google really needs some vetting in their market...

OMG! Just looking at the number of Android phones made my head spin. This is exactly why we don't develop for Android. Too many variations.

Quite a few of the phone look great but the sheer number is borderline crazy.

I think the word you are looking for is "fragmentation".

Well, at least the Apple App Store isn't 70% wallpaper apps.

As an IT professional I am in no way threatened by Apple. I TRIED to embrace Apple in the enterprise but it's such a mess just to get lion server to sync properly with active directory kerberos. The problem? Who knows. The solution? Baked into 10.7.2, apparently. What's wrong with that? This stupid 10.7.2 release for server is also tied to the consumer/workstation release which is tied to the iOS and iCloud release.
Yes. My OS X clients can't use a single set of credentials for accessing their AFP hosted file shares because of iCloud. Ridiculous.
10.6 works properly. 10.7 just broke everything. So now I have the choice of ditching OS X server all together and going with certify + extremeZIP or sticking it out.

Sorry to go off topic but I just though this was a very interesting idea. My workload has significantly increased with the induction of macs into the workspace.

A true IT professional would not have pushed an OS upgrade to production systems without a full test process to catalog any issues like the one you describe. Not to mention, not many people are brave enough to productionalize a point zero OS release, let the bleeding edgers shake out the initial bugs.

Exactly. Glad I don't work there. It's always bad business when someone proclaims themselves as something on a forum, then makes a ludicrous post with it.

This is the 4th email I get from AT&T saying

"We have processed your order and it has been sent to our warehouse for shipment.

Your order cannot be changed or canceled at this time."

Has anyone that ordered with AT&T have their ordered shipped?

Why would you post this question here? There is an ATT sticky for this:

Nah, that's just an old rhetoric Apple haters keep regurgitating, just like "iPhone needs WiFi to video call" (use Skype??) Android has a ton of fart apps: https://market.android.com/search?q=fart&so=1&c=apps

Another dirty secret of Android market is that there are a ton of wallpapers which counts toward the number of apps but not really apps:
https://market.android.com/search?q=wallpaper&so=1&c=apps

That doesn't speak well of Android users who think wallpapers are apps.:D

Wow apple has a cult following...

Over a million customers during just the first day is a lot more than just a cult. It's a mainstream sized population.

In just a few weeks, the number of purchasers will be larger than the population of most countries on this planet. That's no cult size.

yay for the biggest let down/worse upgrade apple has ever done!

glad i bought one of these ****** phones :D

Just shows how embarrassed iPhone 4 owners have become carrying so outdated phones (small RAM, single core underperforming CPU etc.) They had to rush to order iPhone 4S even though this one still lags behind the best Android phones and will look really outdated once Samsung Nexus Prime is released (in a few weeks).

prime = fail

he probably needs to compensate for a very small -- well, you know

yup, his droid is tiny

The reason for no iPhone 5 is now obvious.

Any more features in this year's iPhone, and the backorder problem would be far worse.

Why make this problem worse, when they can save some new features for the next version, keep costs low and profits high, and distribute iPhone demand more evenly over the product line's lifetime?
