Apple Announces Release of Safari 5 with Extensions - But Where Is It?

Works fine for my on safari 5

For me it's loading one of the top horizontal menu's across the main WORLD CUP banner. Running this on a MacBook 13". See the attached screenshot.

Is this issue isolated to my machine?

Says right there, "When you’re ready to share your Safari Extensions, you can submit them to the Safari Extensions Gallery, which will open later this summer."

Oh woops. Haha guess I was too excited to read the whole sentence. :D

Snapback is nowhere to be found on my Safari, I've tried searching various times through the search bar and going to another page but with no luck.

search using the google bar and then click around the page to different links. It will pop up in the top right.

Must be, this is what it is for me.

I'm finding the reader function, especially with keyboard shortcut, incredibly useful.

I'm having trouble finding any feature in Opera (other than the built in torrent client) that would sway me away from Safari. I'll stick with Safari for the next couple weeks and see if it's worth the switch.

Anyone else switching from their browser of choice to Safari 5?.

obviously it is personal preference and the ability for the browser to match your needs and I will certainly being spending some time with new Safari 5 however there are plenty of features of Opera that aren't there or will have to be added by extentions: Notes, Mouse gestures, Opera Turbo, Opera link, quick keyboard short cuts for scrolling through tabs visually as well as just about everything else via the preference editor. You can tweak and change Opera a lot of ways.

Like I said though I'll be checking it out and seeing what it has to offer as it might be the right tool for various jobs especially with the interesting reader feature however for me I see it to be my tool for specific jobs rather than the everday tool that I like, Opera.

I think I'll switch back from Chrome and try it out. So far I'm liking it. Feels faster. Chrome has always been glitchy for me, while the main problems I had with Safari 4 were too much beachballs and crashing (probably from Flash). But combined with Click2Flash, Safari 5 is looking good so far.

Not Working!

Is anyone else having problems with it? Just loaded it twice and it has been sitting there for 10 minutes with the progress about 25% full and nothing else. I have leopard and everything is up to date. Please help. I have chrome and it works great. Never had any problems with 4 but would like to use safari again being a loyal mac customer.

i am so very happy that they have changed the tab behavior. so much better having them open in the same window all the time.

"Older Web Browser" Error Message

Just logged into my Google AdWords account and got the following error message. Seems a bit odd, no?

OMG it seems that after 7? years of Safari they have finally worked out that there are people who aren't in the US! Search from toolbar goes to the appropriate regional page with for instance 'show results only from New Zealand' right there.

And the blue progress bar on address is back - just a shame they didn't return us the proper button for refresh.

It's error how they have created the check code.
For example they have done LESS THAN version 4, that's it.

They should do: LESS THAN 4 or higher

This should get fixed shortly
