Where is 'Save as Web Application'? This was in the first Developer betas.

Wow.. you're right. It's gone. I had saved some Web Applications like Facebook Chat as an Application. It worked great. It's gone in this Beta :(

It shows you that this beta isn't feature complete. I look forward to the release version.

Preferences > Security > Unclick 'Warn when visiting a fraudulent website'

that only disables the site check. when i search something now it also hooks up with google. i want to get rid of this too.

Turns out my issue with Google hosted apps was Gears. I removed Gears and I can now get in to my email.

wow

I am, and have always been all firefox but i just downloaded this and love it. I think I may just stick to this from now on.
See porn site history in Cover Flow...awesome
yeah and if you dont want it in your history turn on privet browsing much like Chromes incognito window, love it.

the full page zoom is too sensitive. a small pinch and spread causes it to blow up all the way. if you enable 'zoom text only' then it reverts back to the old style.

Interface is a lot brighter than Safari 3.0.

Not sure I like the tab position - guess it'll take some getting used to..

Two questions:

What does the star mean surrounded by blue in the top sites section? It disappears after you click on the page.

The stars show sites that have been updated since the last time you viewed them. Though it does not seem to work very well.

This is awesome! I really like it.

However, anyone else notice that the Web Clip function is gone?

Still no exchange support for my university email here! That's one of the only reasons I am currently having to stick to using Firefox.

I must say though that Safari 4 does have a beautiful UI and does generally seem a lot faster.
What? Are you talking about Outlook web access or something entirely different? I've been able to log into Outlook web at work with Safari 3.x for as long as I can remember.

Ok, ya, that interface is cool and all but I want safari not some odd browser that opens in some format I have never seen before. Personally, for the windows version, they blew it. The extra features are nice but the look is not safari. It is like a cross between internet explorer and firefox with a few annoying features built in. For one, the way tabs are layed out now is stupid. In the title bar, I mean come on! It is a cool trick but a pain to deal with. I want the old safari look back. They need to give the option between to "themes." The Safari 3 theme and the Crazy Windows theme.

That is my opinion!

First coverflow in Finder, now in Safari? Waste of time and space.

Cover Flow in Safari makes more sense though.

If you are trying to find a webpage you visited in your History and can't remember what it was called - being able to quickly visually flick through them all is a great tool.

On Mac in Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4TabBarIsOnTop false

And it will look like Safari 3 again. :)

I'm liking, and I'm old and inflexible, remember.

If you think of it, the URL and Google search should be under the tab, because they are associated with it. The top-down approach is more logical.

Oh, and the Refresh is on the right of the URL box, next to RSS.

And it is frickin' fast!!!!

Is it just me or are other users having this problem: clicking on a different tab to switch the current tab, seems to either be sluggish or non-responsive.

I'm using a Macbook pro (not the new unibody), and it seems that when tapping the trackpad, it selects the tab more accurately than when selecting a tab with the track-button. The button is working fine with everything else (so the button is not broken).

Also, for fellow 1password users, there is a mini-hack to enable 1password in safari 4: http://tinyurl.com/bkcdfl

Anyone else having problems opening preferences in Windows version?

Also the RSS feed for macrumors is nonsense as is the writing on me.com.

Any ideas?

Hey duders, want the Safari 3 style tabs back? paste this into Terminal.app:

Code:
defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4TabBarIsOnTop true

Later today I will reveal another secret Terminal command that unlocks "Top secret" features that you'll see in 10.6 version :D

I'm really liking Safari 4. And, though I thought I wouldn't, I also like the new tab location. Very good use of otherwise useless space. It takes some getting used to, but it's a nice space saver.
