It is definately a watch. The colors represent the many colors it will be available in. The Roman numerals are there because the earliest timepieces such as sundials had Roman numerals. The sundial was the revolution in telling time. I think Apple is using Roman numerals like found on sundials to suggest another revolution in telling time.

Yay! So excited! Are we likely to only see software announced at WWDC?

Yep. It's a software conference. The recent removal of the iPhone announcement was likely a sign of things to come. No more hardware talk, unless the software might give it up anyway. But then only the details involved in said feature. Not the whole kit.

Roman numerals are also representative of Movies. Copyright dates of said movies.

And people watch movies on big screens.

That, and a trash folder, that way anything that goes in the "other" section of your iPhone's memory can go in the trash instead so you can actually get rid of it. God, I that "other" data accumulating on my phone. :(

The other section is more than just trash. That said I have never had an issue with emptying my trash on my iPhone or iPad. I hard reboot or turn them off a couple of times a week and they turn back on with trash clear.

That satisfies me all the same! I can't wait to see what they do with iOS 7. If they iPhone 5S is expected to be released in July, when can we expect to see an event for that?

But they announced rMBP and updates to other Macs there last year.

perhaps MAC PRO this year, they are for professionals and developers
MBA and rMBP will be just spec bumps
not sure whether they are going to discontinue the old MBP

There you go, fixed it.

the roman numerals are interesting

The next month is going to be focused on why Roman numerals for the year. What does it mean? What is it a clue for.

I think a front runner will be a new flatter UI. In the sense of removing some of the 3d shading etc. I think a level of the skeuomorphs will stick around in terms of icons etc but if they remove the decorative kind of stuff and spending time on it to have more time for debugging then I am okay with it. I'm still peeved that so much attention was paid to something as lame as a shadow on a faux knob and making it move and iOS 6 released with a major wifi bug that almost cost me and thousands more tons in cell data fees. I actually had to turn off cell data for two months last fall because AT&T waived $400 in overages and told me it was one time. I was scared to turn it on to download voicemails even. So if this team avoids that type of nonsense I'm okay with the stripping out the shadows, the paper tears etc.

Does anybody know if this ticket would get me into the keynote event when Apple launch their new product?

The point of paying $1600 is not for the keynote, but for the week long classroom sessions and access to the Apple engineers.

Yes, the ticket gets you into the keynote if space is available. Typically, lining up about 2 hours beforehand ensures you will get into the main room.

Perhaps they're talking about the font, which is completely different to the Myriad Pro font we used to have. Could it be a sign of what's to come in iOS 7?

I wouldn't mind a couple more fonts. I'm not really a Helvetica girl. I don't need every possible font or even to be able to load my own but how about a little love for say Times New Roman or Arial. Or a Scripty font that isn't Marker Felt. There's like 50 fonts in Pages. Some of them are a bit over the top but why not have the bulk of them provided at a system level for anything to use.

Touch support?

First thing that came to mind when I saw the icon was pressing on an LCD display, and how the colors usually go funky around the the place where someone has pushed on your screen.

Maybe they are introducing a touchscreen Mac or the next Mac OS will support Touch?

So there is the number "13" typed in Roman numbers, in the reflection.
Of course it could just refer to WWDC taken place in 2013, but is it just that ?

The whole thing is 2013 so that's all there is to that. The clue, if there is one, would be in why Roman numerals not regular.

I think a UI revamp of both OS could be underway. Which as I said before, might not be a bad thing if they remove the fluff to focus on quality and debugging.

I would also like to see some more changes in some of their systems stuff. Like iCloud. It's great that my bookmarks can be shared but some of my computer bookmarks have no place on my devices cause they are for things that aren't compatible. I can choose what Pages etc stuff goes in iCloud, why not my bookmarks. Add a little checkbox for when I make one or something.

----------

Who said that there is a keynote at WWDC 2013? In the past the keynotes where announced in a separate announcement.

There is always a keynote. It's the opening event for the conference. They publicly announce all the stuff that would be leaked by session attendees anyway since the conference exists to preview the upcoming OS release so folks can update for it.

Folks get confused because they seem to think that a Keynote can only be about new hardware.

OS X IX & iOS VII

Why are the D and the C coupled and why is the first W not full height on the upstroke?

Freud, where are you when you need you?
