I wonder how this will effect phones that are shipping with the OS already installed on them. Day 1 update to remove Health Kit?

SMS Relay, iCloud Drive and now HealthKit all delayed.

Way to go Apple.

SMS Relay and iCloud drive are most likely delayed intentionally to be released along side Yosemite.

And it's better for them to pull it and fix it rather than deploy it with a bug and then fix it. It's a side effect of release on a time cycle rather than when all of the software is bug free; sometimes we don't get all the features we expect if they aren't ready in time.

So, if one has already updated apps that are touting new HealthKit tie ins, what happens? Is Apple scrambling to remove the "Health" icon from the release version 45 minutes prior to the scheduled launch?

Complaining about the SMS relay "delay" is dumb as obviously it is a feature that requires Yosemite which is not available at this time.

The value proposition is really taking a dive and that is concerning. For now I guess I am glad that I have not made the jump. Holding on to my 5s until things settle down (not to mention the lines and backorders).

Always better to delay it, than to release it to the public with the issue. Nice catch, though would have been better if it were caught earlier.

Hopefully they get this fixed soon. This is an ambitious update for iOS, and HealthKit is a key part of it.

This. SMS Relay and iCloud Drive don't really work without Yosemite anyways so why would they release them now? "Here's a feature that you can use if your're a developer or beta tester." Better to highlight them with the release of Yosemite next month.

Guys, it's not about removing the Health App but holding back app updates which incorporate HealthKit APIs.
Health App and HealthKit aren't the same.

Waiting for the other shoe to drop…

…when 4 million+ iPhone 6 / 6 Plus users all try to activate their phones at the same time.

This seems reminiscent of when the 3G phone was released. Device update, OS update and cloud services all at the same time. There was a lot of FAIL then.

Hmm, only issue I found with MFP was a little buggie when counting the calories. Wonder what else could be wrong.

Apparently Health app only tracks Dietary and Active calories. Not total calories consumed.
