Really!? You mean you haven’t played Word of Demons? Or NBA2k?I have Apple One subscription, but I haven't found a single game worth playing from the Apple Arcade. Most of them are just cute graphics with nothing much going on.
I have tons of games on iOS that have just disappeared after I bought them. The developer decides its not worth it or it didnt work out and the game disappears.I really want to get into Apple Arcade. My concern with any subscription-based gaming is, what if you really like a game but the dev/Apple pulls it out of Apple Arcade years down the line.
Might be a dumb concern but whatever.
I hope this delay doesn’t offend the 11 customers that it has…
I hate the fact that literally every company is attempting to move to a monthly or even weekly based subscription model. I know it makes the company tons of money but I hate it from the consumer standpoint. I can see how people can easily get carried away and end up with hundreds of dollars worth of recurring monthly subscriptions.Do wonder how this will pan out. I have no interest in another monthly bill, however mini a cable bill it may be.
Yes, Apple played Netflix Originals strategy and added as many games as it can. But that diluted Apple Arcade with lower median gaming experience.Quality over quantity... sadly the quality isnt really there either IMO, everything I have tried has been quite shallow or style over substance.
So the experience is consistent with TV+?It’s a barren wasteland. There’s really nothing there.
Last week's "new game" was a re-release of INKS., called, not surprisingly, INKS.+. Having played both versions, I didn't see any obvious differences. It would be nice if Apple or the publisher would detail whether any new features/functionality exist in the "+" versions.
The "+" just differentiates it from the paid/free version AFAIK. It's nice that Apple added all these classics (although "Cut the Rope" isn't a game that needed reviving), but the "+" is definitely a misnomer.Last week's "new game" was a re-release of INKS., called, not surprisingly, INKS.+. Funny that. I think most Apple Arcade games are boring, overly simplistic and a waste of time!I've been really enjoying Arcade (mostly playing ST Legends) even though I have a gaming rig PC sitting next to me. It's a sad state for gaming when I'd rather use a controller and play something on my Apple TV (got the new 4K, it's great for games - can't believe how much better they look) than one of the so-called AAA releases on PC. All new "AAA" games are boring or overly complicated and a waste of time.
I don’t see Apple hardly mentioned it in the press anymore. They offer a year of Apple TV + if you buy a new Apple TV 4K gen 2, but they also throw in 3 months of Apple Arcade as a trial. But then there never was a more radical update to the Apple TV released that was game oriented, in other words they dropped the ball to further promotion of Apple Arcade on that platform.Despite the significant news for Apple's mobile gaming subscription service, more than eight weeks have now passed with no new games being added to the platform.
Apple Arcade launched in September of 2019 as an ad-free mobile game subscription service with no in-app purchases. Apple Arcade is available across the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, and Mac for $4.99 per month, or as part of the Apple One bundle.
Is this service still growing or has the service stalled? In a week we will see.New games and content updates are added to Apple Arcade every week. To preview upcoming releases, look for the Coming Soon section in the Arcade tab on the App Store.
I agree they need to invest in some development efforts. They need exclusives people care about.Game development takes years, it’s hard to expect fresh new games every week or month. I do think Apple should look into acquiring studios, and better known franchises, like Microsoft and Sony are doing.
It's literally a handful of years since this was Netflix's model. You paid for the library, not for the new stuff they were constantly pumping out. It's really not that weird.
