Make the stuff in the USA! And NO, it is not that much more expensive. And Apple, pay your taxes.

Thank you for that in depth analysis and great sophisticated solution presented. Surely that will work out just fine.

You realize Apple pays more taxes than anyone, right?

Except where it doesn’t. Hence the point.

It’s funny how hypocritical Apple and TC is. It’s only these corporations and capitalists that are benefiting from (effectively) slave labour in China. And China is increasing its attacks on the West with the money Apple and others are giving them.

Here we go with the slave labour to which no one is forced. Which then effectively isn’t slave labour. But at least a rant.

We should stop buying anything made in china. Then we'll save a lot of money

Amazing advice given the user name!

Someday Tim Apple will pull his head out of his ass and make product in the USA.

Probably at the pint when it makes financial sense for his company. Like the computer they already made in the states. Case closed.

I'm volunteering to build the robot that does that.
If you think they haven't been trying to build said robot for the last 10 or more years, clearly you aren't applying for the job postings.
BTW. So far they have only succeeded at building a robot to take an iPhone apart.

Putting in tiny screws without over tightening them is much harder than you would think.

You can read about it here:

Not more than the USA: virus (Spanish flu 1918, HIV 1980–2020, swine flu 2009), constant tensions with the entire world and at constant war, trumpism (mccarthyism, obamaism, whateverism).

China is problematic. Virus, tensions with neighboring countries, communism... Get out of there!

India has always been unstable, fissioning off Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and with constant ethnic and religious clashes throughout society. Logistitics and the supply chain will be equally unstable when tensions flare up.

Cuz there would be no Apple without China. Hai capito?

Way to go India. Help shut China down. We should be doing that too. Tim Cook is all about diversity and LGBTwhatever in the US but sucks up to the Chicom censors. Typical two-faced capitalist behavior.

North Korea is totalitarian, China is authoritarian. Quite a big difference.

As big as the difference between flawed democracies (USA, Hongkong, Israel) and true democracies (Germany, Sweden, France).

That's a spin. Sure, the USA invents new fails to protect has some hiccups, but it's not a flawed democracy. It's exactly the democracy it set up. It represents but does not conform to the will of the people. Kind of like Apple, if Apple was taken over by someone who only cared about money and not their products. Oh man, I think I just ticked everyone off. Sorry!

Are you volunteering to sit in a factory all day inserting the same tiny screws into the same tiny holes with a tiny screwdriver every day for a year, for minimum wage?

You realize that not everyone has secondary education and wants to be on call 24/7/365? There are billions of people that make far less money we do, but are far happier individuals. A job is a job to most people. Their true currency is time with their family and friends.

China's Commerce Ministry said on Thursday that it hoped India would "correct its discriminatory actions against Chinese companies immediately,

the irony in this! how about you stop discrimination against your own people. Yes, Muslims are part of their country
They are like a bunch of 3 years olds who think the world centers around them.
"Oh, we are a developing country, we need the better deals."
"Don't tell us what to do with our internal affairs! We are a world power now."

We have to tell them "Can't have it both ways, kiddo."

Who in the USA is going to manufacture the "stuff?"

Who wants to pick up your trash bags every week? Who wants to clean the effluent of the dirty water you flush? Who wants to stand at a cash register for hours on end and push buttons? Who wants say, "Can I take your order?" hundreds of times a day?

A lot of people would like to pick up your trash bags. Thanks to strong unions and strikes, they make some serious money for that kind of job. That is not going to happen in an American Foxconn.

Apple pays all their taxes, but you want them to pay more. You said want other people to pay more taxes than they are required without offering to do it as well.
If Apple is abiding by the laws then the anger should be directed towards those who make tax laws. If Apple truly is cheating and not paying the tax as required by law then they should be punished.

But they shouldn’t “pay more” just because they’re a collection of some of the worlds brightest and smartest people who figured out how to game the tax code. :). Fix the real problem which is the tax law.

Funny, that is what the world thinks about America.

Oh, and you are in absolutely no position to tell China anything.

Fair wages cannot happen in manufacturing? I don't understand the basis of your statement.

Exactly. Getting mad at Apple for optimizing their tax rate is like getting mad at someone who itemizes their deductions to get more than the standard deduction.

China is a population superpower. As their economy grows more powerful their archaic communist government grows more powerful. The world does not need this arrogant brutal regime's overpowering influence. Western companies like Apple should stop helping make China's economy grow more powerful.

Hey Apple, here's a novel idea: If you just make your **** in a country that doesn't have major human rights issues, maybe you won't ever have to deal with things such as this!

Won't happen. The overprivileged Americans and other Westernized hipsters love socialism and China. They don't think anything is wrong with the social credit system and think those who have opposing viewpoints should be silenced. Socialism is the pathway to communism and you can only have socialism / communism when you strip people of their self-worth.

Too US American, in a nutshell. Nationalism and populism but in a different region. Agreed, there can be only one three year old shouting on the international political landscape.
