So, PayPal uses randomized virtual e-mail addresses each time you buy something?
I don't put all my eggs in one basket. I use the plus sign trick with Gmail to generate random virtual emails.

When you apply for a credit card and they pull your reports your gonna get a hard pull no matter what

I don't think this is a card specific feature. Apple Wallet does this already with any credit card you have in the app as long as you check out with Apple Pay whether it be in person or online. The best feature, IMO, is the virtual card number for online transactions.
I can buy something from a site I've never visited before without worrying about them "skimming" my card number. I just have my Wallet App generate a virtual card number/EXP/CCV. If I visit another site I want to buy something from I can generate a brand new virtual card number. If I want I could literally generate a virtual number for every single transaction I do online.
Just think how this will help with fraud investigations. If I used a virtual card at an online retailer, and a week later that number is attempted again for another purchase the bank will immediately know it's a fraud attempt. Further, if a virtual number I used at one online store is attempted to be used at a different online store the bank not only knows it's a fraud attempt, but they now have a verified link between the two entities. This should go a long way to reducing fraud and catching the organized criminals as you now have a "paper trail". With a regular card that might have been used at dozens (or hundreds) of locations it can be difficult to figure out which of those locations was the source of the skimming.
You never borrow money, but you have two car loans?Actually all my credit cards have a zero balance, Never carry a balance since I pay any charges off before the bill is due, and I just have my 2 car loans (My daily and my "Weekend car". I never borrow money, etc.
An unboxing video of a credit card? I think we've reached Peak Consumerism.
I got an invitation yesterday (can't remember I signed up to be notified) but I decided to skip applying for it.
It's brand cachet. Nobody would care if you were unboxing a credit card from a regular bank or CU.
See an Amex Black Card unboxing.
I have that card and love it! 14k limit. Always pay the full balance. Never had a problem Just redeemed all my cash rewards and bought a 65 inch TV and new tv stand for my living room!I still am at a lost as to why someone would get this above a cash back card from capital one.
Does't seem like that aspect of it is really all that Apple related/specific.Apple obsequiousness at its worst. Idiots fawning over the weight of a credit card.
I think you'd be surprised. An unboxing video of a credit card? I think we've reached Peak Consumerism.
2% cash back with no fees is solid on the ApplePay part.People are being seduced by the minimalism and Apple Wallet integration. There are much better cards out there from a rewards perspective). In terms of privacy and security you're not liable for any fraudulent charges with normal credit cards that have the number on them so....no real difference.
I still am at a lost as to why someone would get this above a cash back card from capital one.
That's not how credit works. Your score is based on your debt load and repayment patterns and habits, NOT by carrying large debts.
That's not how credit works
Apple isn't deciding whether or not you get a card. Goldman is and they don't care about how many Apple products you own.Well got the email invite so I took a chance. Now the thing of it is my score was lower 700’s, showed 100% on time no overextended on credit everything was perfect BUT I was declined because we had to file bankruptcy back in 2014 due to lose of my hubbys and mine jobs and I became full time caregiver to my Mom who had cancer. We had to start over and before our bankruptcy our scores were always in the 800’s. We worked hard to reestablish our credit over the last few years and have done very well in doing everything right. We finally got a Capital One CC and have had that for the last 2 plus years doing everything right. Just using it to buy gas or groceries and paying off every month. Never been late on anything! We have rented for 5 years now going on 6. No issues no problems pay everything as much as we can with cash only using the Capital One once a month for little things to bring up our credit score which finally is like I said in the 700’s. So why were we declined? Because we had a bankruptcy still on file and that won’t come off u til 2003. I guess I thought for sure seeing as we show a history of great credit activity and I owned a iPhone 6S Plus now an iPhone XS Max, IPad Pro and 2 Apple PCs you would think we would be accepted. Nope! I won't try again, we will wait. Few more years our bankruptcy will be done no big deal if I don’t have this card just thought it would be a way to do this like our Capital one but there are other CC’s out there we can and are already approved for but not the Apple Card which is too bad, we give them good business but no worries, we don’t need it that bad at all.
Actually all my credit cards have a zero balance, Never carry a balance since I pay any charges off before the bill is due, and I just have my 2 car loans (My daily and my "Weekend car". I never borrow money, etc.
Capital One care - 1.5% cash back everywhereI still am at a lost as to why someone would get this above a cash back card from capital one.
Exactly. I’d be all over this if the rewards were competitive, but they really aren’t. I guess they are if you buy a ton of stuff directly from Apple, but no reason to get this card other than that.People are being seduced by the minimalism and Apple Wallet integration. There are much better cards out there from a rewards perspective). In terms of privacy and security you're not liable for any fraudulent charges with normal credit cards that have the number on them so....no real difference.
Ahh I see ok thanks! I guess this is where I got confused with the hype that Apple themselves was making that decisionApple isn't deciding whether or not you get a card. Goldman is and they don't care about how many Apple products you own.
17.99% seems to be the sweet spot; a lot of people seem to be getting that.I’m 730 and got $7,500 at 17.99%, much hire interest rate than I expected. Probably won’t use the card much.
I think all my previous cards have come with 24+% interest. Never had to pay interest on anything though as I have always paid off my bill. 17.99% is the lowest I have ever gotten for a credit card, granted this is my first time getting a card in probably 5+ years.almost 18% and you guys are happy? OMG
ill loan it to you for 17.5%
