Isn't that redundant, AFAIK all iPhones running the latest iOS can be used for Apple Pay.
I was excited about Apple Card, but then I saw Chase Freedom Unlimited offers 3% off everything the first year and $150 cash back for spending $500 the first 90 days. Also extended warranty protection.

yah, then 1.5% after first year and 3% foreign transaction fees - meh

So looking at the video, it seems that you will find out your limit and interest rate before you even accept the card, whereas normally, you get approved and then you get that information. So if its not worth it because of a low limit, you can decline it?

Most cards will give you an increase within a year or so.

Being in the UK is so annoying we won’t get it for a year or so arghhhhh

Why would you need this card, you have Apple Pay and plenty of other cards like Visa, which is the card to have while being about everywhere in the world.
Apple Pay is convenient, not much more than that, I see no use for this Apple card.

Never seen so much hype for a credit card.
I have. I remember when you could customize your credit card with your personal picture. Caused a big craze of people getting a card just to have whatever picture they wanted on it. I don’t think Apple has hyped this, though, as much as sites that report on Apple.

Wait until it's released. If tomorrow, I wouldn't be surprised if a commercial airs during "America's Got Talent" tomorrow night.

CBS All Access (commercial version) will be having them at the beginning of every program.

You are not missing much, it is not a good card compared to every other card without an annual fee. Does not even include additional warranty or fraud protection like AMEX. The cashback is mediocre (freedom visa and uber are better) and for 3% on apple products is not much since with another card you would be getting protection, a bonus for opening a card, reliable bank, warranty extension and much more. The general public is typically uneducated about what cards to buy and well a lot of other things. Not a good card at all and its made out of metal which is worse than plastic for the environment.

We wouldn’t probably get similar cash back perks over here in the U.K. as a cap on Interchange Fees came into play a couple of years ago.

At one time Credit cards had some decent rewards, if used correctly, but slowly and surely they are being hacked and/or shuttered as there isn’t as much profit for the issuing companies.

The security is the main reason why I‘m getting the card. It’s also the main reason that I do as much of my shopping as possible at places that take Apple Pay.

I assume that like Apple Pay, Walmart will not accept the Apple Credit card? They can’t spy on it..

iPhone 5s cannot.

Really, I thought it could.

The most important benefit of Apple Pay is greater security. Apple Pay itself isn't inherently any more convenient than waving an NFC contactless credit card in front of the POS terminal. About the only convenience is that it's a little easier just pulling out a phone rather than opening a wallet and pulling out a card.

You probably see no benefit to the Apple Card because you don't travel internationally. The Apple Card has no foreign transaction fees. That in itself is valuable for those who travel abroad. Combine that with the 2% cash back from Apple Pay transactions, a scenario presents itself where using the Apple Card via Apple Pay is worthwhile: when you are not in the USA and the merchant accepts Apple Pay.

The physical Apple Card is inherently more secure than a typical plastic credit card with a magnetic stripe and printed account number. It would be extremely difficult to skim the credit card number off of a physical Apple Card.

I Think I travelled and travelling more than 99% of the people here*
There's no to little risk where I reside, if a card gets compromised the Banks pay.
My card is in my iPhone case, it's as fast as Apple pay, get my card out before the cashier even asks.
There's are (way) cheaper ways than using a credit card with caveats though, I have visa, pay very little per transaction and the exchange rate is actually good compared to my bank card.
I don't think there are 0% transaction fee cards available here, I bet those cards you use have a lower exchange rate.

*I cycled around the world for 5 years, lived abroad for 15 years, ....and more.

Pretty decent card if you buy Apple stuff or use ApplePay a lot, but Amazon's 5% Prime Visa, and Amex Blue Cash Preferred's 6% back at US supermarkets kind of win, day to day.
Sellers must pay extortionate fees in the US if credit cards give so generous cash backs. In Europe cash backs are much lower or non existent. I wonder if and when Apple Card will arrive here, and what cash back will he offered.

Never seen so much hype for a credit card.

You missed out when Chase Sapphire Reserve was giving out 150,000 points. Chase was having issues stocking the metallic cards and sent the regular credit cards as a temporary replacement.

Same here....signed to be notified as soon as it was mentioned....still waiting for me invite.
Same here... i find it strange not one person has come out and confirmed they received anything yet, although supposedly a few emails were sent out.

Prices are higher, some there really think the money is free, I am on this other thread right now, people laugh at my comments, seems like they themselves don't get it.
Cashback, whether on the Apple card or whatever card is not free money although it might seem so.

Yes, cashback is rare in Europe.

My son is a developer and no invite either. Will get card and try for a month or so. Not sure what percent I get back on current card. But, that is not a big issue to me.

Yep. That was a steal. Discovers double cash back combined with 10% Apple Pay was memorable too.

I usually recommend chase for beginners. 5/24 rule and all. Chase points are usually valued higher because they can be transferred or redeemed for at least 1.5x.

The Apple Card isn’t bad but such a waste for that physical card. Apple should have said 3% for restaurants for physical card. There’s probably even a commercial there somewhere.

Apple Pay is convenient, not much more than that, I see no use for this Apple card.

As with every thing in life, the Apple Card's appeal is dependent upon how you use it. From the people I know who I've spoken to about the Apple Card, the following features are the most popular:
  • The simplified names of businesses on charges, and the map associated with charges.
  • The ability to send money via Apple Pay Cash is another popular one (not everybody banks at a bank that supports Apple Pay).
  • The lack of a number on the physical card is another.

Personally, one of the things I'm happiest about is the no late fees. It's not that I'm one to pay late, but a hurricane hit my area last year when I had two credit card payments coming up, and I was unable to cash a check due to my bank being closed due to a power outage. I contacted both cards asking for a week's extension due to the hurricane, and explained my situation. One of them told me they'd give me 90 days (I only wanted a week), but the other told me that they wouldn't give me an extension and that a late fee would be charged if I didn't pay. It was an inconvenience during a difficult time, but I paid them. It left a bad taste in my mouth, so I appreciate the no late fees on principle.
