Just signed up for one. The offered credit limit was over twice the credit limit on my current card :)

If you're using the card right you won't be charged interest for the first year or any year because you'll pay the balance off each month.
I want to live in your perfect world. :)

If you are whining about interest you shouldn’t be applying for it.
You are absolutely right. I should have not apply, as I do not need an additional credit cards and any rewards. Fewer having credit cards are better for me, personally to keep spending in control and lesser buying temptations. Anyway, all are good. Enjoy yours :)

So, after my invite never worked I tried this morning. Said “Identity could not be verified”. Escalated to Goldman Sachs and they said their system was having trouble with my ID (it’s an Enhanced DL) and there was no manual override. She said to keep trying every half hour as they work quickly to resolve this stuff. I now get a message that “You have applied a number of times so we cannot verify the information you have provided at this time”.

When I reached back out to Goldman Sachs, they said it’s a 30 day deferral after 6 attempts with no other options. Why the first person told me to keep trying....no idea. Frustrating experience overall and no recourse, I guess I’m out.

This is not acceptable. They are treating a software failure on their end (unable to verify an enhanced drivers license) as an explicit denial to issue credit no different than if you had a bad credit score. There needs to be a way to reset this for those who have this issue.

Just ran it. OMFG its offering 23.99%? No fffing way, payday loan rates are a ripoff. I don't have another credit card above 18.99%.

Dieter Bohn at The Verge felt the need to send out a PSA tweet that Apple Card wasn’t some new cool piece of tech it was a credit card. Why do tech writers treat people like they’re idiots?

Dieter is always sticking his finger in Apple's pie when he can. He's an Android boy at heart, not terrible about it, but it shows through like here.

Just got mine:
17.99% with a 800+ credit score and over 100k / year income.
My only debt is my house and it is currently worth twice what I owe on it.
How the heck do I get 12.99%? Million / year income?

I pay off my current Amazon credit card every month. I use it for everything to get free books!
I think this card it a bit out of my league.

Pretty much the same thing. Household income of over $150K/year, 790+ on all three agencies, and I was approved for $15,000 at 17.99%.

I chortled at the rate, but meh. I'm not planning on carrying a balance on this or even using it anytime soon.

I wonder what y'all APRs are? I'm afraid even if I get approve with my low credit score, my APR will be freaking 24%! I'll probably wait till they have 0% APR promo?? Too bad I can't use at Costco.

What do you mean can’t use at Cosco, works for me?

Applies but was declined. Said I had a recent late payment even though my credit monitoring says 100% on time. Oh well.

Because sadly it is Apple and as you can tell on these boards a lone their are a crap ton of Apple fan boys and girls who think it is such an amazing piece of tech. It is not. It is a reminder that Apple credit card is a MEH credit card at best and do not go chasing it just because it is Apple. People are getting really hype over it and excited and they have to be reminded that it is a CREDIT CARD.
If you want to get it fine but end of the day remember it is a credit card and to make sure you treat it as such.

My biggest reason for thinking about not getting it is the fact that I can not export the data and there is no web log in for it. I have to view it on my iOS device and that is a massive problem.

Should work with Apple Pay:
Costco warehouse locations accept:

  • All Visa Cards
  • The Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi
  • Most PIN-based Debit/ATM Cards
  • Costco Cash Cards*
  • Cash
  • Personal checks from current Costco Members
  • Business checks from current Costco Business Members
  • Traveler's checks
  • EBT cards
  • Mobile Payment (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay)

So I tried out apple pay with it this afternoon. I used it twice, but small amounts...one for $20 and one for about $5. I do really like the interface. Additionally, it not only knew exactly which Duane Reade I was at, but it also showed the location and the picture of the outside of the store (the actual picture, not just a picture of a random Duane Reade). My only concern at this point is that I don't see the cash back rewards showing up. There is a little 2% sign on each of the posted charges but I'm not seeing any actual cash back. It still says $0.00.

The mobile payments only work if the card it is tied to is a VISA or you are doing the one where you have cash loaded in it so it is more like a bank not a CC.
They will bounce anything that works out to a mobile payment that is not a visa. Things you learn when your main card is an AMEX. I been to a place that takes Apple Pay/Google Pay but it was they did not take AMEX. I had to move it to my VISA in the same mobile wallet.

Interesting. Thanks for the info as I was going to give it a shot. I didn't know the readers were able to tell what card you had attached to Apple Pay.

Exactly!! I’ve escalated a few times through different routes and no one seems to have an option. I am hoping to hear something from customer relations.

I wouldn’t say it’s a meh credit card. I got it just for the 3% back on iTunes/App Store/iPhone Upgrade. Better than the 1.5% my Capital One card gives. I ordered the physical card too but I plan on never pulling it out of my wallet. Maybe there are some who signed up just so they could show off their shiny titanium Apple logo card, but I didn’t.

It's tied quite a bit to debt to income ratio as total minimum payments costs across all accounts and loans. All debt, card, loans, cars, homes etc.... Make 100K but have 6K in monthly payments not a good limit. Have 150K income and 4K in total monthly payments across all debt higher limit.

that's likely true, i have paid off most of my mortgage at this point so i don't have a whole lot of debt.

Practically the same thing happened to me. I tried chatting and was told to keep trying. After my 5th attempt I called Apple and she told me to make sure everything in the app exactly matched my ID. I said my ID has my middle name so she said to add that after my first name. That attempt just told me I could not be approved. When I read the e-mail to her she reached out and told me I have to wait no less than 48 hours and I can try again.
My driver's licence is also one of the Enhanced ones. Maybe that's the issue.
I'd call Apple if I were you.

I have an enhanced ID and it worked - although it took several attempts.

No kidding, I am in the same boat. I have an 780 FICO, well over $200K/year household, my only debt is on my house which is with 40% more than what I owe, and a balance on a single existing CC that I pay double the minimum every month (has a high limit, but the balance is nowhere near it). My rate on that one is 13.99% and Apple offered me a 23.99%. What a disappointment. I figured I was going to get a low APR like every other CC offer. Shocked the Apple card is almost double. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth for sure and of course I declined.

You make over $200,000 per year yet need credit card debt?
