I'm sorry you've been lied to your entire life up until this point....

If you pay off your card monthly, credit card companies literally pay you to use their card.
No, they don't. They charge merchants higher fees, so you pay higher prices, then the card companies return some fraction of that higher cost to you and keep the rest. It's like saying the government pays you when you've set your withholdings too high all year.

Idk if anyone else has had this happen. But upon approval I had 5k @ 23.99 under card details it is 5k @ 12.99. Has anyone else seen this anomaly. Not sure how to confirm which rate it actually is at.

Someone mentioned something similar in one of the preview threads. I think whatever was in the wallet in the end was what ended up being correct.

So essentially if you DON'T use a credit card you are paying the higher prices anyway and not getting any of it back. Like I said earlier - if you don't use a rewards credit card you are not taking advantage of the financial system we find ourselves in today.

That's different than saying you're getting paid.

We're all getting fleeced. If you play the system, you can get fleeced less.

Don't forget to opt out of the arbitration clause.
This sounds like it deserves some elaboration-- I haven't gone through the process, but there's an opt out on arbitration?

If I'm understanding you correctly, stores charge customers higher prices to cover the higher fees from credit card processing? But that higher price would be baked into the price of the goods? So anyone that shops anywhere would have to pay the higher price, no matter what payment method they use. I'm not understanding how I'm still not making money vs. a person that uses debit or cash, unless you go specifically to a place that says they charge 5% less for cash or something.

Can’t say I’m displeased. That would be a nice surprise. Like most wasn’t planing to pay interest. But seems like a pretty big hiccup that could push people away. Or worse if it went the other way.

https://arstechnica.com/information...with-forced-arbitration-heres-how-to-opt-out/

I just did it through the "Message" feature in the Wallet app (in the Apple Card details page). I asked to opt-out of forced arbitration, the "Apple Card bot" said that it would transfer me to someone at Goldman Sachs, and they handled it immediately.

Failed to verify my scanned photo ID 5 times. Now it’s under review. Support told me I should get the result within 30 days. Un-f******-believable.

So much for “instant decision.”

30 days!!! Are you serious? This is crazy! I could get a department store card in minutes while checking out... Apple Card could take me 30 days?! That's crazy.

Also, I wonder if it checks my credit every time my ID failed to verify or if the credit check is after the verification?

I'm guessing it has more to do with the fact that those with lower scores are less likely to mention their score publicly.

There are also a lot of credit-haters on this forum that will indirectly chastise their credit card use.

Score of 733 for me, got declined o_O
The wife and I make almost 100k/year combined. I'm guessing DTI ratio is not good?

Yes. Within 90 days of receiving your card, send a text to them. Name, email address associated with the account, billing address, and state that you wish to opt out of the arbitration agreement. You can also send a letter, but it's easy to send a message. I don't know the address of where to send a letter. Took Apple Chat less than five minutes to respond and opt out.
