I haven't used the physical card yet. Has anyone noticed any issues with cosmetic damage from daily use? What about Ridge style minimalist wallet. Will wallet like that scratch this card?

I am also wondering what that card will look like after being chipped and swiped for a while.

it’s definitely going to look like crap after a month or so. I feel like just having it in my wallet touching other cards will scratch it. Hopefully it’s a nice worn look haha.

This is my first metal card and damn do I love the feel of it.

I mentioned it a few post up, but it feels way different than other metal cards. In a good way though. It’s because they used titanium vs steel.

Wife got one. Card looks kinda cool. But it goes in a drawer because it isn’t worth using. Weird since neither of us asked for an invite. I guess she couldn’t turn down a quick 14k to available credit. The soft pull aspect does seem a bit unique otherwise she’d probably have passed on it. In terms of knowing rate and credit line before hard pull.

That is how a lot of the targeted offers work, they use a soft pull. eg: the offers you get in the mail or through websites.

Got mine yesterday. After being approved on Sunday. No invite, just looked int he Wallet app and hit the "+" and it was there.

Card was delivered via UPS....to the wrong house. Luckily my neighbor didn't toss it. Once I got the card unwrapped it was very easy to activate. Don't know how much I will use the physical card. Most places even in my neck o' the woods allow Apple Pay these days. Walmart doesn't (or at least the last time I checked), but I tend to avoid going there as much as possible.

The card does look and feel very nice though.

Mine is coming UPS today. Does anyone know if it requires a signature?
Not quite sure. I did request a hold for pick up at my local UPC CC and picked it up yesterday, but of course any package you request a hold for pick up will require a signature.

I believe that for deliveries, UPS no longer requires a signature for any packages unless it is required or if the driver feels that it's necessary.

i'm not sure why you can't use the physical card. it's just a normal credit card. i'd try again on the website.

Maybe because there aren't any numbers on the card and it confused the person? They swiped the card, but couldn't find the CVV number so gave up?

My buddy who works for ups says it’s ups policy to require signature on all Apple shipments. I had to sign for mine yesterday. Not sure if this is nationwide or just for my area.

Still don't have my physical card yet. Applied/approved last Thursday, and after chatting with Apple/GS they say there's a delay for shipping out the cards. Yet I see people in this thread who applied later who have already received theirs within the 4-6 business day window.

It's probably all luck of the draw getting it shipped. I was approved Monday and got the physical card Thursday.

Not a big deal, but you figure it'd be processed based on the order of those who applied for the card.

Did you get the actual invite email? I feel like everyone having shipping issues were able to add the card with the "+", but never ended up getting an invite.

Yes, got the invite Sunday and just received the your card gas shipped, but it shows waiting for UPS and no delivery date. I could drive to Comton in a couple of hours

The reason why they couldn’t use the physical card is because they don’t have a card reader. She took my card without really looking at it and started for her desk. When she did look at it she stopped short, gave me a puzzled look and said, “It doesn’t have any numbers on it.”

I asked, “You don’t have a card reader?”

“No,” she replied, “I have to manually enter the information.”

I then pulled out my iPhone, went to the wallet, opened the Apple Card and gave her the 16 digit number there. She entered the number but said the system didn’t recognize it as a legitimate card. We tried again to ensure she had entered the number correctly, with the same results. That’s when I pulled out my old trusty Master Card and took care of it that way.

Writing this has caused me to think that there may be something wrong with that number, and maybe I need to talk to Apple Support.

Well I have had the card declined three or four times at places that accept Apple Pay, but they say the card is not compatible. So I think there are some issues they need to get worked out.

Why is everyone so excited about a credit card? I don't get it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

because they wont to be even more in debt and pay high apr?

i have a credit card only for making purchases from web. anything else - debit, not credit. if there isnt enough for paying the purchase, then i have no afford it and need to save more.

I use credit for all online purchases for security and protections offered with CC's. Day to day I don't use it as much. And I don't keep balances on them. I pay them weekly.

I just got off the phone with Goldman Sachs and they explained the problem to me. Apparently this transaction fell through a small gap where in you cannot use the Apple Card. This is because the 16 digit number that appears in your wallet is an Apple Pay number, not an actual credit card number. So if you go to a store that does not have a card reader/scanner and also does not accept Apple Pay then the card will not work. Admittedly there these establishments are as rare as Dodo birds any more, but as I found out they do exist.

The Goldman Sachs representative asked if I wanted to register a complaint about this and I said yes, so she wrote it up while I was on the line.

Lastly to answer blueracer’s comment: I believe that you are right, that if I had done it on line and used that number it would have worked.

Curious. Perhaps I don’t fully understand, but how would this be different than purchasing something over the internet for a seller that does not take Apple Pay (eg, Amazon)...no card reader and no Apple Pay. I thought you were supposed to be able to just use the numbers in the Wallet app.
