Tesla has been making cars that have been viable for years. Why wait for a model 3? I mean, why hate on Apple when you are not hating on Ford, Chevy, Toyota, Honda, etc?
And I did not say people who disagree with me are racist. I said that people who don't like foreigners just because they are foreigners are xenophobes. That's not a judgement, I am just quoting the dictionary.
I'm gonna love the next 4 or 8 years. As far as I am concerned, we have a chance to undo all the social programs and other nonsense.
Can't speak for anyone else, but I don't hate racists, misogynists, xenophobes, etc. Quite a few of my relatives have racists / xenophobic views. I think they are misguided, and hope they change their views, but I don't hate them.
And the thing is, most people who hold racist views don't think of themselves as racists. But hearing Trump say he'll ban (or extremely vet) Muslims from coming in to the US and seeing him as championing US security instead of seeing the implications of such a policy on first amendment protection of freedom of religion strikes me as stemming at least partly from a racist/xenophobic attitude.
IMO, people who voted for Clinton in NY and CA knew they were shouldering more of the national burden, and were glad to do that to contribute to the general welfare. People who voted for Trump -- I hope they didn't think that he'll reallly improve their standard of living. But if they didn't believe that, why did they vote for him?
Actually, they taught me that, too. But that wasn't what we were discussing, so I didn't think to bring that up.
See? Uneducated people voted for Trump. People who don't bother looking into anything or investigating. People who just run with their "feelings".

1. Mace Windu regarding Chancellor Palpatine (Darth Sidious): "He controls the Senate and the Courts! He's too dangerous to be left alive"
2. Senator Amidala in regard to the Republic being reorganized inro the "New Galactic Empire" by Palpatine: "So this is how liberty dies. With thunderous applause.
So, hyperbole? Maybe. But factor this in:

And they voted for Trump because he sold them a bunch of BS. They think their factory job is gone because of NAFTA and China. It's so sad when people get taken in by populist demagogues.
Well, I don't really make it a habit to ask for a person's resume/complete with educational background when I converse with people. Either a person has an opinion born out of facts and evidence or they have an opinion for which they look high and low for a supporting argument. If they are the former, I appreciate their opinion even if I disagree with them. If they are the latter, I move on to something else even if we happen to agree.
And with respect to the scientific method, I am confident that not only did she get taught the principles, I am confident that you did too. Unless you did not take any kind of modern science classes as part of elementary, middle, high school or college.

You didn't answer my question. What city in the USA has a large enough population of eligible people to assemble iPhones? Apple's not building factories in LA and NYC. Besides, automation is replacing factory jobs. Do we stop progress because some people may need to be retrained to do something else?
Yeah and what happens when we get all those tax cuts but no spending cuts (plus huge increases in defense and infrastructure spending) or entitlement reform. These people didn't vote for Trump because he's going to cut welfare benefits; they voted for him because they think he's going to shift benefits from minorities to them.
California now has a budget surplus.
Imagine if Californians could keep a lot of the money they make instead of paying federal income tax and shouldering the burden on behalf of red states like Kentucky, West Virginia, Mississippi, Florida, Indiana, etc.
Can't wait for Trump and crew to fix the tax code.

I'd say that if anyone in the "non-x" category in your example sides with an "x" candidate, there's nothing you can do or say to convince them of their self-delusion.
They ARE "x".
We are not judged by what we say (in the absolute sense), we are judged by what we do.
Did I say racist? They did have a rally's, and there were racist people there (not all of them)
But here it is, like I just posted in a few pages back. People who voted for Trump voted for a person who has said racist things. There's no denying that. Are they them selves racist, some are sure. Some are not but the contortions some one has to go through to want some one who says those things to represent them is mind blogging. No spending cuts? Let's dismantle obamacare and medicare. Eliminate all environmental regulations and scrap the EPA. Do away with public education.
As far as infrastructure spending, privatize. Let those who build it charge for the usage.
We can do better than balance the budget. We can pay down the debt.
