Okay, separate the sheep and the goats for us. Who are the 50% with open minds and who are the 50% with closed minds?
Another way of asking that question. Who did educated people vote for, compared with uneducated people? There's actually a clear answer to that one.

You have no one to support your social programs - sorry but how much in debit is California today - just imagine if the USA said you can leave but only after you pay off all the debits you owe.....
Sorry but Californian has a balanced budget and the people of California voted, via a ballet question, to continue extension of temporary income tax hikes for the wealthy, which would raise an estimated $7 billion a year.

Who's going to build it? No one in the rust belt is educated enough to build anything right now. They relied on trade barriers and "whiteness" to get by. In the long run those things don't work. You actually have to be educated and that requires constantly upgrading your perspectives and ways of doing things. Otherwise you get left behind and you have no one to blame but yourself.

My, my, my. That's a mighty broad brush you paint with there.

Map of the Rust Belt according to Wikipedia.

List of college educated by State.

By all means continue to insult a large portion of Americans simply because they live in former manufacturing areas.

You don't know me at all - I am on the list to get the MODEL 3. So go screw your self you pompus ass - and I don't care if I get banned can't stand people like you who think your **** doesn't stink and that everyone who disagrees with you is uneducated and racist .

Hope you enjoy the next 8 years .

And As I've said in earlier post - I can't stand trump wrote in Rand Paul.
[doublepost=1478806255][/doublepost]
it must have auto corrected that - and yes over stated. DAMN IT won't let me say over rated....

Tesla has been making cars that have been viable for years. Why wait for a model 3? I mean, why hate on Apple when you are not hating on Ford, Chevy, Toyota, Honda, etc?

And I did not say people who disagree with me are racist. I said that people who don't like foreigners just because they are foreigners are xenophobes. That's not a judgement, I am just quoting the dictionary.

I'm gonna love the next 4 or 8 years. As far as I am concerned, we have a chance to undo all the social programs and other nonsense.

Its hard to even discuss someone who views their fellow Americans in such loathsome terms. Americans disagree about some things, but we are far more alike than not. Most of us are also bored of claims of racism. That word has been played out. Spend some time asking with your fellow citizens what they are worried about, why they vote the way they do, sit down and talk. You will probably disagree, but your irrational hatred may go down.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I don't hate racists, misogynists, xenophobes, etc. Quite a few of my relatives have racists / xenophobic views. I think they are misguided, and hope they change their views, but I don't hate them.

And the thing is, most people who hold racist views don't think of themselves as racists. But hearing Trump say he'll ban (or extremely vet) Muslims from coming in to the US and seeing him as championing US security instead of seeing the implications of such a policy on first amendment protection of freedom of religion strikes me as stemming at least partly from a racist/xenophobic attitude.

Assuming logic in the process is where you are having problems. Many people voted against their own self interest. Blue states such as NY and CA voted for someone who would have increased their burden to contribute to the Republic. People in Michigan voted for someone who is going to reduce the benefits they receive from the Republic.

IMO, people who voted for Clinton in NY and CA knew they were shouldering more of the national burden, and were glad to do that to contribute to the general welfare. People who voted for Trump -- I hope they didn't think that he'll reallly improve their standard of living. But if they didn't believe that, why did they vote for him?

Here is what mom, grandma and teachers should have taught you - decisions are made by people who show up.

Actually, they taught me that, too. But that wasn't what we were discussing, so I didn't think to bring that up.

Is it? Last I saw was they are $443 billion in debt.

See? Uneducated people voted for Trump. People who don't bother looking into anything or investigating. People who just run with their "feelings".

Oh Tim. You are clueless. There is no moving forward "together". That much is CLEAR from this election. Division is at it's highest.

As a Star Wars super-fan, I saw two scenes vividly in my mind when DT won:

1. Mace Windu regarding Chancellor Palpatine (Darth Sidious): "He controls the Senate and the Courts! He's too dangerous to be left alive"

2. Senator Amidala in regard to the Republic being reorganized inro the "New Galactic Empire" by Palpatine: "So this is how liberty dies. With thunderous applause.

So, hyperbole? Maybe. But factor this in:

Let's make America GREAT again!! Let's start by getting rid of "these" people!

Hmm, I don't know why this sounds familiar...Oh, yeah. 1940's Germany.

Egomaniac + Presidency + House + Senate = DISASTER

Welcome to the REAL America, minorities. Yes, yes you are, exactly that. Minorities. A look at the electoral maps by state and county make this clear. There's a reason why that rebel flag flies high in this country to this day. Because people (the white majority) choose to ignore the bad things guys like DT say and do in favor of the good. He said enough deal-breakers, unless you are white and male and don't have a Hispanic or Arabic name.

So, work on your exit strategy before January 1st, and keep your bags packed by the door. Lest you be like the Jews in Germany that didn't see it coming.

We wouldn't do that in the US. We would deploy robotics instead. Cheaper and more reliable than labor.

For the affluent, its gonna be a great 4 or 8 years. For middle income/blue collar types, sucks to be you. Should have gotten a better education.
And they voted for Trump because he sold them a bunch of BS. They think their factory job is gone because of NAFTA and China. It's so sad when people get taken in by populist demagogues.

Why wait for the model 3 - My wife would never let me spend 80k for a car.....

We're talking about a devoted liberal here who has revised her thinking. Maybe she didn't take any Greek scientific method classes, though. BTW, how many of these rural, white, uneducated Trump voters have you sat down with to construct your view according to Greek scientific methods?

Well, I don't really make it a habit to ask for a person's resume/complete with educational background when I converse with people. Either a person has an opinion born out of facts and evidence or they have an opinion for which they look high and low for a supporting argument. If they are the former, I appreciate their opinion even if I disagree with them. If they are the latter, I move on to something else even if we happen to agree.

And with respect to the scientific method, I am confident that not only did she get taught the principles, I am confident that you did too. Unless you did not take any kind of modern science classes as part of elementary, middle, high school or college.

But she let you buy a $30k car that was not made in the US? I guess patriotism has its limits.

I take solace in the windfall that is about to take place. Lower taxes, more income from investments.

There is a truism (not to be confused with a Trumpism) - can take a horse to the water but can't make it drink.

iPhone launched in 2007. Any reason it could not have been built in the USA?

Labour cost remains as the reason for why not, not cause apple had a crystal ball predicting its success in 2013 at the peaks . Or I should say apple high profit margins is the reason it's built in China in my opinion
You didn't answer my question. What city in the USA has a large enough population of eligible people to assemble iPhones? Apple's not building factories in LA and NYC. Besides, automation is replacing factory jobs. Do we stop progress because some people may need to be retrained to do something else?

Yeah and what happens when we get all those tax cuts but no spending cuts (plus huge increases in defense and infrastructure spending) or entitlement reform. These people didn't vote for Trump because he's going to cut welfare benefits; they voted for him because they think he's going to shift benefits from minorities to them.

California now has a budget surplus.

Imagine if Californians could keep a lot of the money they make instead of paying federal income tax and shouldering the burden on behalf of red states like Kentucky, West Virginia, Mississippi, Florida, Indiana, etc.

Can't wait for Trump and crew to fix the tax code.

I like your Star Wars references but I thought of Hillary. I can see her saying "I am the Senate". Like Ben Kenobi says "From a certain point of view".

Also during the war speech with Bush after 911, I dubbed in that line "So this is how liberty dies..." when everyone was clapping during the State of the Union. Also animated some lighting from Bush.

I have too much Star Wars on the brain.

That and the death tax.

There were none - hate you people trying to resort to racist crap that doesn't work.
Calling those opposed to you racist when they are not destroys the use of the word when racist events actually happen

Did I say racist? They did have a rally's, and there were racist people there (not all of them)
But here it is, like I just posted in a few pages back. People who voted for Trump voted for a person who has said racist things. There's no denying that. Are they them selves racist, some are sure. Some are not but the contortions some one has to go through to want some one who says those things to represent them is mind blogging. So I'm sorry if they can not handle some calling out for voting for a person who says hateful things he said. I mean seriously making fun of disabled reporter. Truly pathetic.

No spending cuts? Let's dismantle obamacare and medicare. Eliminate all environmental regulations and scrap the EPA. Do away with public education.

As far as infrastructure spending, privatize. Let those who build it charge for the usage.

We can do better than balance the budget. We can pay down the debt.
