Ah, the typical "muh racism!!!" hyperbole from a frantic leftist throwing a temper tantrum. How were the protests? Write any cool anti-white graffiti on a bank? Beat up any Trump voters?

So I both "made this exchange exclusively about race" and also "excluded race as a factor"? That's quite the impressive feat, you must admit.

And I've never doubted that certain corners of the country are overtly racist. Increasingly, those corners are black and brown more than white. Check twitter and see the calls for white genocide and tell me about racism again. Hell, 75% of BLM movement is based on pure tribalism and racial resentments blacks have for whites.

Hmmm. I don't even know where to begin here. You need to re-read my posts and get off your angry-white horse before we can have a reasoned and calm conversation.

*Hint: I am not a leftist, and the central philosophy in my posts is that this country is at war with itself, from a cultural standpoint.

I do not deny that racism exists both ways in this country. But it is a "chicken or the egg" scenario, one in which we actually know who came first.

We cannot use the "well, they do it too" argument against racism. Those who do use it ARE racists.

The key is to first acknowledge racism exists. Those who don't ARE racists.

Then we must try to understand where, how, and why it exists, and do what we can to eradicate it. It is a disease.

But people like what it appears you are in your posts want to deny the disease, and then complain when the symptoms start kicking their ass.

The thing is, for minorities, voting for self interest has a lot to do with racial issues. If you for a second assume that there are inequalities that afflict minorities that do not afflict the majority (caucasians), then you might understand why.

ROFLOL.....

Whites have voted for whites longer than minorities have for other minorities. And if we just limit to presidents, minorities have been voting for white males for president longer than a white person for a minority presidential candidate. Unless you are telling me minorities have had voting rights and be able to run for president since The inception of this country.

Does not matter if they themselves are racist, they voted a racist to the presidency to represent them.

I didn't vote for Trump pal, but people who know and work with him say his isn't racist. Do you have proof somewhere? Or is it just bigotry from the left?

Cook is simply doing what people who lose do- they call for unity, meaning hey, you have to listen to the loser and not pursue your agenda without our approval.

Nothing to see here, move along...

It is hilarious to watch.

The point Trump tried to make to the African-American community is they haven't been voting in their self-interest.

There's a very big difference between lobbying and playing politics. Lobbying is all about advancing and supporting legislation that helps your company. Playing politics is something quite different.
In the case of Apple, those two things feel the same to me. With the exception of their products they're not too secretive about anything else. But maybe some backroom deals helped them along in China. I guess you're right.

First I did not say you voted for trump I said THEY because I do not know how you voted.
and sure here you go! http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/07/politics/paul-ryan-donald-trump-racist-comment/

So only people on the left believe trump is a racists or bigot? No independents? No Republicans? Just leftists?

Only people who lose call for unity? I seem to recall Trump calling for that also in his victory speech. Or maybe it was my imagination.

He has only stated he wants to deport VIOLENT ILLEGALS - get that in your head. There will be no GOONE squad going door to door to round people up to kick them out of the country - only DEMOCRATS do that stuff....http://www.npr.org/2015/09/10/439114563/americas-forgotten-history-of-mexican-american-repatriation

You should read the articles your post. The Hoover administration was Republican.

And regarding "violent illegals"-- yes, he would depart only those immediately. But he said he would deport the rest over time, if they did not leave voluntarily.

I'm not seeing much difference except that one is a little more public facing. Don't they both achieve same goals?
They are vastly different. Lobbying is working with the existing politicians to further causes that help your company/organization. Playing politics is trying to influence who is elected that you will then ultimately lobby.

Two main categories huh? So the union folks in MI and WI who voted for Obama but turned to Trump are now white uneducated racists? The across the board increases of support for Trump from 2012 among all nonwhites is self hating xenophobes? The increase for support from women from 2012 now are just self haters who dont mind their P&ssies being grabbed?

The Trump win is far more complicated than people are just rubes. People voted one way for a multitude of reasons and it just may not be what Sally Kohn said on MSNBC. It's Hillary, the political machine we all have grown to despise over the past 20 yrs. The lack of trust in the media platforms as it becomes more and more fragmented and partisan.

I really don't care if blue collar workers voted against their best interests because they're not smart enough to realize he's unfit for office.

I do care that everyone else has to suffer for it.

And, if you think that most of the people who voted for him aren't racists, undeducated, or simply uninformed as to the workings of our country, then I guess you're giving people way more credit than they deserve.

I'm gonna lump the wealthy in with the racists, because most of them should know better, but they care more about money than the fallout from a race-baiting president.

California now has a budget surplus.

Imagine if Californians could keep a lot of the money they make instead of paying federal income tax and shouldering the burden on behalf of red states like Kentucky, West Virginia, Mississippi, Florida, Indiana, etc.

Can't wait for Trump and crew to fix the tax code.
California and most of the blue states are net contributors to the Fed Govt; the red states are actually net takers from the Fed Govt.

No, the whole USB-C/no mag safe thing is complete and utter stupidity.

At least we can agree on something.

Actually, if you count the people who stayed home because they did not care one way or another, you can argue that the majority are okay with the direction the Republicans want to go.

Semantics, because if you count third-party-candidate votes as votes opposing Trump, he never would have won.

Exit polls say that 53% of people 45 and over voted for Trump. You know, the people who are currently are about to benefit from social security and medicare. Sounds to me like they don't care about these programs.

52% of people who have less than a college degree voted for Trump. You know, the people who might need a mechanism to access healthcare insurance. The people who might need new job training.

The very people who would benefit from these programs voted against the person who wanted to fund these programs.

So sorry but we are wasting precious money on programs that people don't want.

Again, semantics, since those can be connected.

In other words, the people who did not think of the impact an education might have in their aging life in the first place are too dumb to realize they shot themselves in the foot and elected the guy that'll take away something they'll need.

Maybe we would care a little more if we weren't immediately labeled things like bigots, racists, and uneducated.

I'm assuming you voted for Trump. If that's the case, do you think voting for a philandering misogynist who admits to sexually assaulting women on tape and allegedly tells teenage girls he will be dating them soon - not to mention the multiple failed business ventures, ripping off suppliers and contractors, encouraging a hostile foreign government to hack into his opponents emails, telling his opponent he would lock her up, bragging about bringing back torture, accusing federal judges of incompetence because of their race, trying to convince his base that black people must all be living in hell, lying about bringing back coal jobs, leading a racist "birther" movement, lying about building a wall, and I'm sure there's more - is going to make people think you're just a thoughtful person with a benign difference of opinion?

Trump's own campaign took away his access to Twitter and then the country handed him nuclear launch codes.

And when minorities had a chance to vote for a minority person as President, he won. Both times.

What was the choice? Voting for the wife of a "philandering misogynist" who totally trashed the reputations of her husband's victims? The one who lied under oath to Congress?

There are plenty of reasons to dislike both candidates.

He's just asking for continued tolerance at the work floor. Not a weird plea after recent events in the US. My God, some people see something wrong in everything. How exhausting your lives must be.

Apparently, from the angry responses, many people believe "unity" and "diversity" are code words for something or other; but I don't understand yet what that would be, or why it would be so offensive.

Maybe they are just mad because Tim did not mention "Islamic terrorism." I understand it's offensive if you do not use that phrase in at least every fourth paragraph. I'm still getting used to the new vocabulary and prescribed word choices. I know "thug" now means "an African American male shot by police," but mostly, I'm still learning.

Trump will never bring those jobs back, many of which were lost to mechanization anyway, and he's already selecting "establishment" politicians for his cabinet. Congrats...you were sold and bought a bunch of bullsh!t.

Of course he's not bringing any jobs back. Some of the first things I ACTUALLY see him talking about doing involve fast-tracking drugs through the FDA (helping Big Pharma) and getting rid of environmental protections (helping big oil and other businesses that feel strapped by the EPA).

Where in that equation does this equal "helping the little guy?"

Nowhere. Once he and Congress gut the ACA (they will, they have already said they'll support him on that), nobody will be able to afford any fast-tracked FDA medications except people with employer-sponsored plans, so that FDA thing isn't to help the poor unemployed/underemployed citizenry who will have NO insurance once the ACA is gone.

Gutting the EPA isn't helping create jobs because every factory that does crank up work here will be using robots.

So, yeah. If you're wealthy in the USA? The next 4-8 years will be financially lucrative. If you're white and wealthy and don't care about minorities and women? All the better.

Not true with regard to revenue generation. FIT collection from California is $7690/person. The national average is higher ($7918).

Oh, you! You consider those sources? How about Breitbart, Drudge, or some random guy on Facebook?

We export now. Who says we're gonna share our food with you?

What I'm trying to say is that, the rest of the country doesn't need Californias food. The mainland would have the south to grow crops during the winter, and the north harvests a lot during summer/fall (albeit most of the north is growing corn right now).

Not having the rest of the country to export to would probably hurt CA more than it would hurt the rest of us.

Farmers markets are already becoming a thing again in rust belt cities, though. And the local produce, in my experience, is better quality than the CA produce we find on grocery shelves. So much so that I've started to swap CA with local.
