New ipad air 2 still has 2 days shipping estimate.

So I'm assuming, that's not flying off the shelves..

It says that until you actually order it!

I placed an order on the 17th after the store came back online, and it said 2 days. I also ordered a case that said 2-4 days and a remote for my ATV which I have lost that said 2-4 days.

Both the case and remote shipped today (21st) and now the iPad air 2 says 5-7 days after already exceeding their initial estimate by 200%.

Funny how once they take your money, the delivery time goes from 2 days, now to a week plus the initial 2 days.

If supply is so tight, then why have there been multiple stores with them in stock? Tim take care of your pre order customers FIRST, absolutley obsurd that others and myself are waiting for preorders from 9/19 and prior but there has been stock in my locale apple store.

have this same problem with my wife's phone till i signed up for office 365 and get the onedrive app. after it uploaded all the photos/videos to onedrive i deleted from the phone and we can access old photos/videos thru the app

I got a 128GB 6 for my wife cause her 64gb 5S keeps getting used up with our daughters photos videos. We're both not happy with the size bump. I realise there is a demand for a larger screen but the 5S is perfect for us and so many others. They could of released the 6plus and an updated 5S size. If there was a choice I'd love a new 5S with 128GB and A8.

The size they so proudly boosted about just a year ago is now abandoned, ignoring it worked perfectly for so many customers all these years. To make it worse they even removed the 64GB 5S from the store for those who prefer it's size.

They should release a version like the sports car version in their line up. 5S size, 128GB, latest CPU, same thickness as current 5S with thicker battery which resolves the protruding camera issue (so unnecessary if you ask me in the 6). Make the antenna out of stainless steel again like the 4 as my 5 antenna dents like play-dough when dropped.

USA is the true 3rd world country when it comes to iPhones.....we're are starving ...for iPhones with coolest 8mp camera...

What do you use phone camera for, print graphic poster with 3 ft x 5ft size? The best you can do with a phone camera is posting those pictures on social network and maybe some screen savers on monitors which 99% are not retina display.
Stop the MP ******** on the phone. Really, it's useless beyond 5MP.

What you needed to do, Apple, was to start producing at least 3 months ahead...NOT ONE MONTH.

You just changed the whole dynamic of manufacturing, Steve Cook.

Dude, even Apple has to manage cash flow with profits from one build to go into another. The first build they did for any major release is more expensive than the regular production runs. Also, a scarcity like this is good for creating demand, free press and stock price.

not being sarcastic..but that is good point...

It would be interesting to know how many people switched back from Android because of the larger screen.

After owning the original iPhone through the 4S model, I switched to the Note series. Aside from subpar support from Samsung with warranty issues, the phone was amazing. I'm definitely eager to see what the 6+ offers, if it ever ships that is!

I ordered an iPhone 6 Plus (64gb Space Grey) through AT&T the same day they were released and my expected ship time is 11/21/2014 to 12/03/2014.

Bull ****.

I ordered 6+ Gold 64GB on Sept 12 16hrs after it's preorder time with delivery date from Oct 13-20, but it's shipped on Sept 26. I got it on Oct 2nd. What's wrong with others?
I just ordered a second one , 6+, Grey, 64GB on Oct 3 and delivery day is Nov 3-10, but expect it to be shipped some time this week and receive by the end of this month.

Advice: don't order through carrier, but Apple.

I pre-ordered my 6+, and it arrived on launch day.

I'm so glad I got mine before any of those foreigners.

I am just down the highway from Apple and it also arrived on launch day. Ended up ordering via the carrier store since the Apple Store was jammed.

Immediately came back with delivery on launch day. Two days later, changed to a month. Then two days before launch day, it reset the delivery date. Showed up at the front office with not a minute waiting in line.

Did you say something so... Idiotic? Really?

BTW, my Canon G16 bought last year is just 12MP and that's a full fledge camera with a sensor 10 times bigger and optics... Well, much much better than the one on the Iphone and all other Smart Phone cameras. It must sure suck worse than that 40MP Nokia 1020 then...

I'll let you guess which one sucks more in this case, the 1020, some random 20MP Samsung or Sony smart phone or the poor 12MP camera...

Maybe you need to open up a camera and physics book so you can actually make sense next time.

Apple is fully aware of demand.

They purposely build only so many.

They will slowly lull everyone into ordering online with a 2-3 week wait, and work on shortening that wait in the name of marketing and profit...

This saves Apple a fortune in over-building on a yearly model change platform.

In the future, the stores will be only to look at the products, and ALL orders will be made-to-order. Once they can get the production down to Amazon-style ship ASAP, this will be it. Stores will be the place for accessories, not hardware.

Oh, and.. I am sure you can over-pay and get it in 24 hours, or little less for 3 day, or regular price at 2-3 week...

Yep.

Enough of this ****...5S with iPhon6 specs. May 1 out of 10 million people is still interested in that.

Maybe that would make the phone "older" though in the sense that they can be designing and engineering for a longer period before starting production if they don't start way ahead of launch.

And they would never want to produce too many so that it would appear that they weren't a hot commodity. I love Apple but, let's face it, the lines would be shorter if people knew they could just stroll in and buy one or order online a few days after the crowds die down. Just in time manufacturing principles also.

Anyone who thinks Apple likes people to wait 4 weeks for their phone is just silly. Its the engineering, manufacturing rampup that takes up most of the time. Also, producing 50M phones, tying up 15B in inventory (not producing your other phones in the process!!) seems a bit idiotic. The fact that they're able to manufacture and ship 80-100M phones in 4 months is just incredible as is.

and how much would that usually cost?

I plan on replacing my Samsung S5 with a 6+. I don't expect supply to level off until February.

The thing is, is it really worth quoting "fastest roll-out ever" every iPhone release though?

Why not strip back with the countries, and give demand to the countries that need it the most. Allocate stock properly, and catch up quicker.

Whilst it's not entirely fair for more countries to wait longer.. but you catch my drift right?

Because - speaking as a Canadian who once had to wait - it's annoying as hell when we have to wait while other countries get it first.

Leave it to CNBC to focus on the negative.
