PRSI? *takes off gloves* Let’s do this thing!

So you would be fine if hundreds of thousands of people on the internet started calling for you to be killed, doxing your address, and posting your personal information and the information of those your loved ones for the world to see? If you are fine with this, then make yourself known. Otherwise you are a hippocrite hiding behind anonymity on the internet like the rest of these cowards. I for one think that the people who do this and harass their fellow man should be locked away for several years until they learn their lesson. Calling for violence is always wrong. YOU are wrong.

It really says a lot about the MacRumors community when the top rated comments are that there is no such thing as hate speech. Wow. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. It terrifies me that my children will have to grow up in your hate-filled world! So nothing Hitler ever said was hateful? Really? We’re having this discussion in 2018? Did you learn nothing in history class? Those who don’t know their history are bound to repeat the same mistakes. It’s that simple. STOP HATE NOW.

Incitement to violence is a real thing.

Hating old white men is the same as hating young black women or slightly over the hill Asians, or half-Hispanic + half-Congolese legal immigrants, or whatever. Don't like whatever I am? Fine. Your opinion. You're probably a crummy person, but that's within your rights.

Sarah Jeong of The Verge / Vox, and now, NY Times Opinion pages saying #cancelwhitepeople and stating "Dumb-ss f-cking white people marking up the internet with their opinions like dogs p-ssing on fire hydrants"... sounds like "hate speech" to me! But really... she's just a mean bozo Leftist, but that's within her rights. Should Apple now block the NYT app from the App Store?

Inciting violence against specific people? That's an actual illegal thing for a reason. Stop conflating people being d-cks with genuine and targeted incitement.

Did you miss the part where he had been harassing the holy living hell out of grieving parents and families who had their children murdered in cold blood by a lunatic gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary School? Those poor suffering souls have a right to not be harassed by that fool. My oldest starts kindergarten next year. God help him if one of my children is ever a victim and he starts harassing my family. I will not put up with that and I will become man on fire with the anger of a billion blazing suns. Nobody could possibly fathom my wrath. In the old days when men had honor they knew how to deal with men like him without honor.
Did I miss the part where I defended Alex Jones? His content was removed for totally valid reasons.

ADL didn't say a "cartoon frog" is a hate speech, they said a specific carton frog co-opted by one of the largest neo-nazi groups in the world as a mascot is hate speech.

If you have to be intellectually dishonest to defend a point, it only highlights that you do not have one.
Every single meme page was full of the frog. I guarantee it was used more as a dumb joke than anything else, by far. There are so many references that show up on mainstream meme sites as jokes but in the news as alt-right propaganda. The latest is "thot audit." This is why CNN is a joke to kids now.

Hate speech is what Apple/FB/whatever define it as. They all have different rules. I went through them when I submitted an app once because I had to moderate user content accordingly. Apple's are here and include references to race, not just attacks: https://developer.apple.com/app-store/review/guidelines/#objectionable-content
App store guidelines are not "hate speech guidelines" and were never intended to be. You linked me to a page outlining objectionable content, which can include things like pornography and scams and is obviously much broader than hate speech.

Scholarships that explicitly exclude white people aren't against white people?
No. Scholarships are allowed to target disadvantaged/underrepresented groups. They're even allowed to target people who wear green pants, because it's someones private money and they can direct how it is spent as they wish.

Yes, it attacks them too by saying the people of other races have some moral higher ground, deserve help more, etc. I know people who have lied about their race to get into things they can't afford.
Some people do need more help than others, and if the goal of a scholarship is to target the needy then they are perfectly allowed to do that. If the goal of a scholarship is to target the underpresented, or those who have been denied opportunity, then they are allowed to do that. There are also diversity scholarships that send white people to historically black colleges, but I don't see you complaining about those in your attempts to convince yourself that the most well off group in the country is actually the victim.

And no scholarshops do not say anything about moral high grounds. That's an interpretation that exists in your head.

The App Store guidelines are what Apple references when they ban something for hate speech. Other rules live there too, but that's the authoritative source on their hate speech rules. You'll find similar rules on social media and other platforms.

Non-white scholarships are allowed by whom? The government I'm guessing, but that doesn't make them not racist. I didn't reply about the black colleges' admissions cause I honestly don't know anything about that, but if they're intentionally biasing their admissions towards white students, yes that's racism, and it's bad.

Interpret the scholarship however you like, but there's no good story for it. If it's about helping the under-advantaged, there are things like income or refugee status to look at instead that'd be strictly better at accomplishing the goal of helping those who need help.

And actually, a better example of hate speech against whites (and sometimes men) is the opinion columnists in the news, as someone mentioned above.

Tim Cook made Dre into a billionaire, a misogynistic woman-beater. I had every intention of quoting some of his lyrics here to make my point, but wow, I'd have my account banned in a heartbeat.
Says the Trump voter. Ironic.

Compared to what Trump has done, I think Dre is a decent person. He is also someone who has spent his life working for what he has.

No, it was not a dumb joke. The alt-right weaponized memes like the frog because it made the recruitment of young people easier. Hate group recruitement is not a joke, especially considering the terror threat that right-wing political violence represents.

The frog is still a joke. Hate group recruitment isn't a joke, but it's also the last thing on everyone's mind when they see a meme. I don't know what you want to do about it, ban everything the extremists start using in their jokes? That's what the ADL thinks. It's not just pointless but actually counterproductive.

Because objectionable content encompasses hate speech. Hate speech doesn't encompass all objectionable content though. No one would ever argue that having a naked model in your app is hate speech, because hate speech is clearly defined, but such a thing is clearly an objectionable content violation.

It also doesn't make them racist, which they are not.

Then have you considering trying to gain a more informed and representive view of things before deciding to let scholarships that help poor black kids be the thing that raises your blood pressure?

A scholarship is not an admissions guarantee. It's something you apply for after gaining admission somewhere.

If it's about helping the under-advantaged, there are things like income or refugee status to look at instead that'd be strictly better at accomplishing the goal of helping those who need help.
But they do, for example at the school I went to people below a certain income threshold can qualify for tuition aid, and that is the sole criteria. It just so happens that the demographics of the people who qualify will not be majority white though, so in the end the result is the same as what you're complaining about. In the America, by design, the concentration of poverty overlaps quite well with the concentration of melanin. This is the result of centuries of racist housing policy like redlining, and the government denying opportunity to some people and not others for most of American history. Most black Americans had no realistic opportunities for generational wealth accumulation until as recent as 1964.

Which is exactly why it was a great recruitment tool targetted at unsuspecting youths. The frog wasn't banned, and no one is saying to ban everything that extremists start using.

But there's a clear difference between something mearly being used, and something used by said groups to the point that it becomes synomous with hate groups. When it gets to that point, the association should be noted as it was. It's similar to how we document gang insignia.

The ADF, supported and financed by the Israeli regime, and one of the kings of censorship and lobbying themselves, awarding Tim Cook censoring Apple content, well, I'm not surprised. Getting an award from the ADF is certainly not something to be proud of.

Yes, that was the one thing where I think Apple really screwed up. They even took down a Civil War game because the Confederates had their own flag in it. Idiotic.
[doublepost=1543885684][/doublepost]
People should be aware that they're doing it and take action as appropriate, is all.
[doublepost=1543885804][/doublepost]
The vast majority of right-wing Americans don't do any of those things.
Guess you didnt see all those fool's burning Nike gear over Kap.

tell me you only use Arco gas that is basically from the U.S vs gas that is imported from the Middle east where gays are stoned to death............ wait, if you use apple products then you are condoning the sweat shop labor they use and China is also big on censoring speech....... see how big brushes work? I love chik Fi-a ,,,,,,,,,,,, and I support the LGBT community, hell I am a member of the pink pistols
I like Chik fila and support LGBT too. it's not the left protesting these places or companies . Besides it was sarcasm. All in fun homie!

What are you on? I'm not even American.

So anyone who wants to call out a misogynistic violent racist is a "Trump voter" to you and that's the biggest insult you can come up with. Try to get a sense of balance, your hatred is making you ruin your own life.

It's simple. Hate speech is anything the left doesn't like.
Hate speech is very plainly defined as "speech that attacks a person or group on the basis of attributes such as race, religion, ethnic origin, national origin, sex, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity."

It has nothing to do with politics. The right only seems it as political because the right happens to be full of people who support hate speech.

They're programmed to parrot anything their peers say. It's best to just ignore them and don't give them a platform. In the end it's best for you and for them.

Absolutely laughable. I have seen more hate speech (some of the most revolting things I've ever read may I add) about the president from the left that Cook is a part of than what he's preaching against. Hypocrite isn't the word.

Preaches about hate crime and privacy being a basic human Right, takes half the company to gay parade - literally simultaneously sells out Chinese population to high tech mass surveillance dictatorship that puts homosexuals in jail and executed dissidents ...

Liberals in 2018

Liberals like Cook and Co. support diversity but not diversity in thought.

Anything against their agenda is “hate”.
Conservatives and Co. are against diversity in thought, because they seek to infringe on Tim's right to not support hate speech on his platform.

And no, that's a radical right-wing strawman. Hate speech is very plainly defined as "speech that attacks a person or group on the basis of attributes such as race, religion, ethnic origin, national origin, sex, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity".

You're not American, and yet you commented on Dr. Dre. ;)

I find it ironic that you have a problem with "misogynistic violent racists", and yet you say nothing about Trump and instead choose to focus on Dr. Dre who, in the field of misogynistic behavior, is like a jaywalker compared to Trump who is a kingpin.

Try to get a sense of balance, your hatred is making you ruin your own life.

Diversity in though eh... is that why you need the government to crack down on opposing opinions? because you enjoy that diversity so much?

Whilst on the whole I agree with what you say. What you don't know is whether people appearing to act like d-cks, is a way of them covering up for actually being part of the hate movement and really having mindset like that.
