Then I guess you're caught in a pickle aren't you? You're clearly in the minority when it comes to this issue while simultaneously supporting a company that opposes your views.

I also hate the SJW nonsense but I stick with apple because there’s more to a company than political correctness. I stick with apple despite my frustrations because of their unparalleled customer service and stance on privacy. Their hardware being great helps but others also make nice hardware, I just don’t trust those companies at all. Also, if I don’t like apples SJW stances, I REALLY don’t like googles...

I think Tim Cook is a fantastic CEO and as a white man I am not offended by this decision at all, as long as that same standard is applied to groups like Antifa.

Pretty soon the reicht wing won't have anything left but Chik-fila, New Balance and country music. They already don't like or protest Nike and a host of other products and corps for their leftist views.
tell me you only use Arco gas that is basically from the U.S vs gas that is imported from the Middle east where gays are stoned to death............ wait, if you use apple products then you are condoning the sweat shop labor they use and China is also big on censoring speech....... see how big brushes work? I love chik Fi-a ,,,,,,,,,,,, and I support the LGBT community, hell I am a member of the pink pistols

This is why I am an Apple customer. This, and respect for privacy.

I will suffer the junk keyboards.
I will suffer the miserly cheapness with cables, ports, power bricks, memory, and storage.
I will suffer the quality issues and lagging in innovation in software and cloud solutions.
I will suffer the prices which are no longer “for the rest of us”

There are so few ethical technology companies. Zuck, Sandberg, the Google buffoons, the sociopathers....the list goes on an on. So I chose Apple.

I am proud to be a customer, flaws in the products and all.
I don't understand how Apple's stance is different from the other social networks here.
[doublepost=1543884378][/doublepost]Apple's stance on speech is fine, but seriously, engaging the ADL? They're a total joke now. These are the idiots who declared Pepe the Frog a hate symbol and called for the firing of a CNN commentator for being against Israel. ADL is actually promoting dangerous censorship, while Apple is not.
[doublepost=1543884464][/doublepost]
Ya I feel so oppressed by Apple now that I can no longer view child porn on the Tumblr app. Too bad I can longer make an app on their platform that promotes white supremacy. Clearly the majority of their consumers support it.
Child porn is different because it's illegal. But Apple also has a rule against legal porn.

“Conspiracy theorists” and racist “supremacist” groups seem like two completely unrelated things to me...

But I guess whatever Cus it’s 2018

Alex Jones is now = David duke / kkk
Alex Jones got banned for making borderline threats against people, posting violent content, and defaming Sandy Hook victims' families.

I guess I don’t understand what people are talking about with censorship. Tim made an ideological comment today. What has he censored? What websites do iPhones block? What people does apple refuse to sell to?

Edit: I am aware about the removal of the info wars app. You can still access the website. Also, as a moderate conservative I wouldn’t care if info wars goes bankrupt and shuts down. It’s not quality journalism and it doesn’t really inform conservatives on issues fairly. There are MUCH better places to get news from.

it's in the article, infowars was mentioned, not sure what else.

Borderline isn’t an argument. He didn’t. Don’t extrapolate something that doesn’t exist. Posting content that may be violent like of antifa isn’t the same as inciting violence. Even remotely. In many cases it’s the opposite. To show were never “beyond” words and onto violence. Never.

And he shouldn’t have said sandy hook didn’t happen. He messed up. He’s said Hes messed Up what more do you want? Can we stop talking about sandy hook like questioning whether something was staged or not isn’t right up alex’s Territory. He dropped the ball. Move on already.

They're afraid that this is a sign that the big tech companies are going to suppress their hate speech. They think if they post a pro trump comment on an app, then Apple will send a signal to their phone that essentially detonates it. So now they want the government to step in make sure Apple can't make their own choices. They also don't support net neutrality and think the government should stay out of their lives. Wait...

I didn't say he was inciting violence. Apple has a vague rule against content of poor taste. I can't even find the specific videos that were an issue for YouTube anymore, but it had something to do with violence against children, and that might've played a part. He also posted a video that might've been considered a threat of violence against Robert Mueller.

I had to consider this stuff when I was submitting an app that allowed for user-generated content.

Sorry — when you say he’s threatening people and for posting violent content one can presume that

If that’s the case you know that’s a technical foul to get
Him on. Guarantee you there are other shows showing violence at some point and their standards are one sided. That seems absolutely absurd.

No matter who you vote for or what ideals you hold, we should all be concerned that we as Americans are giving up our rights of free speech and privacy (at the very least) to private corporations. A private corporation should not be the authority on what constitutes allowable speech. It gets even worse when we have domain registrars shutting down sites just so they can get a few retweets for their self-righteous CEO and a brief news cycle.

Remove apps that had the confederate flag in them.

My feeling is he posted enough things in the grey area that they just decided to ban him. Sorry, I edited my post above but you replied... There was also this widely cited "threat against Robert Mueller" where he described shooting him in a duel in a way that makes you unsure whether he's speaking literally, as one example.

Corporate censorship certainly is "real" censorship. Yes the First Amendment doesn't apply, and yes it's legal, but that doesn't somehow make corporate censorship fake.
OK but since corporate censorship is perfectly legal, what's the isse?

Are you saying private entities shouldn't be allowed to censor?

It would be great if iPhones themselves banned right-wing sites.

Yes, that was the one thing where I think Apple really screwed up. They even took down a Civil War game because the Confederates had their own flag in it. Idiotic.

People should be aware that they're doing it and take action as appropriate, is all.

The vast majority of right-wing Americans don't do any of those things.

I agree with this sentiment, but I can’t take them seriously when there is plenty of black supremacy rap music on iTunes. They preach about what is right, but they seem to have quite a bit of bias when it comes to what they think is right and wrong.
I’d love to read Tim Cook some of the rap lyrics that appear on his platform just to see what he would say...

Nothing but more virtue signaling and posturing.

Oooo.....he spoke out againt “Nazi’s and white supremacists...” how B-R-A-V-E. The lone man, standing against “hate.”

Please. Bravery is standing up for the rights everyone to speak, no matter how noxious their ideas.

Bravery is standing up for unpopular ideas or the right for others to present them—what he did was easy; not brave.

What a joke.

This site really needs to understand that they aren't government, and that it's perfectly fine to ban toxic right-wing libertarians.

Now *this* is hatred.

What if they ban you for being in the minority? I think there are more far-right people.

MacRumors is pretty open to varying opinions. If it weren't, it'd suck.

"Clearly in the minority"? Lol did you see which comments got the most likes?

Oh yes, let's judge a society by a niche website that's about rumors for apple products. The opinions of the users on this website have always leaned conservative. It's a running joke.
