"We" being America, as previously stated.

We are at war with a group of people who are ageless and faceless, and are focused on killing us.

If you want to paint with a wide partisan brush, go paint someone else's post with your trite, ill-placed talking points.

No silly, the coalition, including America, are at war against terrorism al together. And for the records, America is a continent not an entity, there is no such thing as 'we' America, and certainly not one person who can state that he or she is soeaking on behalf of all the Americans; that includes you as well.

Yes, thank you for noting that we're at war. I've served in all three as the sharp edge of the sword. It is ENTIRELY un-American to deny admittance to those who most need it. We are ALL ourselves from somewhere else.

If we were to do so in a principled manner, we would not allow anyone from Saudi Arabia to enter. How many acts of terror havr been committed by Syrian refugees of any religion? Zero.
I agree with the latter part. I think there should be a temporary ban on all immigration while we are at war, especially since our borders are unsecure.

The article and subject is about the executive order on immigration in the U.S. That is what I was addressing in brevity. And as Americans, we do have the right per the Constitution...My statement did not state or imply, that all Americans are in agreement with my opinions on the matter. I was speaking from a matter of law (re: the Constitution).

Here is what is frightening about the separation of wealth. I go to the outlet mall. I see a lot of lower income families strolling around. The baby mommas and baby daddies are decked out to the nines. Their 4 kids have on all under armour and Nike Jordan's and stuff like that. This stuff isn't cheap. I buy my kids shoes at Target or Payless and get clothes at reasonable prices that aren't pricey brands. And I am fairly sure my wife and I make more money than they do. I think so much of what you see in wealth disparity is the choices of lower income to not live as frugal and within their means. It's not the only reason but it certainly contributes.

Wealth inequality doesn't require any special explanation. In a capitalist system, it takes money to make money, and the more money you have, the better poised you are to profit in good times *and* bad. During the crash in 2008, for example, many extremely rich people got richer, while many middle class investors were completely wiped out.

That's why we have ways of redistributing wealth, like progressive tax. What's changed in recent decades is that tax havens, tax avoidance (*cough* Trump) and globalization are making it easier than ever for the rich to move their money elsewhere or protect it in other ways. At the same time, middle and working class families are losing jobs, and aren't able to afford the higher education they need to get better jobs. Education isn't getting any cheaper, because there is constant pressure to keep taxes low, especially for the wealthy. The mechanisms of redistribution are failing at the same time the rich are getting better at moving their money away to safety.

So we are becoming less equal. And a less equal society is an uglier society. Just ask a historian.

Right..unifying potential terrorist members. I have to say, from reading previous posts..you talk a lot about things that lead to potential terrorist threat. So, please..you don't have to watch Conan the barbarian movies to be social justice warrior.

What authority? Your sounding as if I'm the potus.

Now you're just talking silly. You stated that Tim should focus on his job, that made me smile, because it sounds funny to me when somebody with zero authority on the matter actually thinks that Tim will listen or even cares.

Shouldn't he focus on his job? If he wants to be like Obama and take vacation to do something else...well..there's an alternative route for him to take. I didn't realize Tim Cook was the Mac rumor administrator.

Exactly :) but I'm glad that some narrow minded people actually think that closing some borders actually helps.

.....and Syed Farook was a US citizen....

What does this tell us? We can be attacked by anyone, anywhere, it doesn't matter their sex, religion, orientation, or nationality. It also brings up the question what is a terrorist attack and what isn't? By the very definition of "Terrorism", the Sandy Hook massacre was a terrorist attack, but it wasn't labeled as such because the shooter was white.

The biggest terrorist group in the USA is the police, right?

It's in the eye of the beholder. There is no such thing as a law that is stating that borders should be closed and closing some borders is controversial as well due the uncertainty of the impact. It's not a question about if Trump is allowed to do this but more importantly: does it works? I've no illusion that terrorist will be distressed a bit with this news. As if terrorist would travel using just one fornal passport and taking the usual routs towards other countries. It's so silly to think this will actually works that I can't take it seriously.

Yeah, it sounds though, but in reality is shallow and doesn't solve real issues of the world, like serious issues with the climate to name one thing.

I applaud President Trump's action. Not because I hate immigrants, but because I think it's important to find out who's actually coming into your country. If you let in every single person blindly, you're only putting your people at risk. And one of the primary jobs of the leader of a country, is to keep his people safe. And by signing this executive order, Trump (or at least those who are in charge of the nation's security) is given time to find out who they really are.

It's controversial, I get that. Especially since America has been the country of the free etc. etc. And it's not something I would support all the time. Not at all, in fact. But if this can help the Trump administration to come up with ideas to make America safe again (or to speak for the liberals: to keep America safe), I believe it's the best way. It's only temporary after all..

By the way, I do think green card holders should be allowed to enter the United States, because, well... it's a green card, right? Don't think he will, but Trump should definitely change the order to allow those people.

Oh, this letter to me sounds a bit whiny, to be honest. Mr. Cook should focus on his products, not politics.

Ditto. Well said brother.

Look, he has already destroyed years of progress with his southern neighbour. His promise for a 'great' trade deal with the UK will come to nothing. He has weakened NATO in a time of a resurgence Russia.

Let's face it. The Western world will come to realise that Trump's America is hostile to them. They will strengthen their own alliances, at a cost to the US, and in four years time (or eight), America's foreign policy, and global reach, will be greatly weakened.

The American people deserve the politicians, and the President, they elect.

race has nothing to do with being mentally unstable as in the case of sandy hook

Let's not get all teary eyed ... NATO has become their own worst enemy ... they didn't need any help from Trump to get them there. NATO loves the talk of build-up, but then never convert that to action.
