Yep. Getting coffee from a store every morning is really expensive. That's why I don't do it. And why that comparison isn't going to motivate me to buy a $1200 phone. I'll stick with my 3-year-old iPhone 6+ (which cost me only $300 thanks to a very attractive trade-in offer from Verizon at the time) until it dies. And then I'll see what I can actually afford to buy.

Lol. Thats a stupid statement. Not drinking a cup of coffee a day is essentially changing your lifestyle a little. There is no good reason to do that since coffee is not harmful for your health. And that cup of coffee can improve afternoon productivity of a lot of people. He has some balls to suggest people should change their lifestyle to buy a phone.

If giving up overpriced coffee is too much to ask of a person, that person has serious issues and should see a doctor.

Well, to be fair, if you’re spending $3 a day on coffee, you should probably be making it at home for a few cents a cup. Then go buy an iPhone X ;)

I can't think of any decent coffee that would cost "a few cents a cup". Sure, it's not $3-$4 a cup like Starbucks, but even our coffee, which is $10 a 1lb bag, lasts about a week per bag, each day is 2 mugs worth (1 cup of beans). So 14 mugs per $10 bag is about 70 cents per mug. Still considerable savings over Starbucks and ours tastes better! :)

Well you have to offset the extra cost somehow. So you have to give up something to do that. I agree that you will use it every day. But this phone does not do anything that an iPhone 6s plus cannot. So this is not really a good argument to get people to buy the phone.

The iPhone X can take vastly superior photos. It can do AR. It has better battery life, a better screen, can handle all that iOS 11 can throw at it, and has better security with Face ID. We shouldn't ignore iPhone X is breathtakingly gorgeous too.

Yeah your iPhone 6s is pretty much the same as my iPhone X. Wanna trade?

The iPhone X should come with a Starbucks Coffee lockscreen picture, so those giving up their daily Starbucks can still feel that Starbucks love.

They must have been getting a lot of flak about the high pricing if he's felt the need to break it down and justify it like this.

Some people are a bit slow and need help breaking down what an iPhone X truly costs. I think it makes absolute sense to make it clear you are literally willing to piss away a few cups of coffee a week (ok, not you - maybe it's beer instead?) but unwilling to spend the same amount on an incredibly awesome iPhone X? That iPhone X will bring you absolute joy every day for years.
