The keynote's written for them. They practice in the 1-2 days leading up to it, if I'm not mistaken, then read the prompter for a couple hours and it's done.

Sounds like someone who's never even watched a keynote. It's not like the president standing behind a podium, where he only has to look one direction the whole time. They do rehearsals for Apple's keynotes.

What's more important, a body of land deciding who the president is or actual voters?
Actually, the Constitution says the United STATES of America will decide who's President.

The USA is a Representative form of government, a Republic, not a democracy.

The States choose a President, not the urban decay of the cities. The founding fathers were very aware that New York & Massachusetts would control every election if there was not an Electoral College because at the time, only NYC and Boston had a huge population. This would disenfranchise all of the other states, particularly small ones like my own, Maryland, which had a minority hated religion, not liked by the populace at the time. If democracy ruled, my state wouldn't even EXIST today. All our towns would have been burned down and people killed.

A Constitutional Republic is not perfect, but it has worked well for 241 years. I am speaking about America, not judging other country's governmental creation decisions.

Well, you're attacking mine. So it seems only fair you disclose yours. So I can assess how far gone you really are before continuing this joke of a discussion with you.

Dear friend, I'm not attacking you. You were the one referring to being a scientist and by that claiming some kind of authority from your position. I may be a janitor a cleaner or kid living in my mom's basement, I don't base my arguments on a position in society. There are scientists that are brilliant and those that are crooks, same with menial servants or autistics in 4chan, what should be the focus is the arguments put forward.

Ok, have to go. Have a good day or night. God bless.

Most Americans distrust the worldwide decisions of Europeans simply because you've cause TWO WORLD WARS.
Sorry, but you don't have a good track record and you're not paying for your own defense either. :D

The notion of humans able to redirect the earth's natural and unnatural climate change assumes too many variables and is scientifically narcissistic in that it is based on humans having this capability. That much is hardly known if not even believed. In testing a scientific theory, the law of science is to change one variable and see the results. This is not possible with Climate Change. There are MILLIONS of variables, since there are millions of organisms on this earth. There is no scientific way of proving our actions will have desired results. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try or continue to study it.

Once you introduce politics into science, it is no longer pure science and loses some and/or all of its credibility.

By the way, if you read all the political scientific predictions in the 1970s, you do realize we're all supposed to have run out of fossil fuel, and/or died from the ozone hole. Historical fact beats scientific predictions every time. Sorry.

All part of shipping MORE of our jobs to China, India, etc.

Lets get out and stay out. Regulations are killing this country. No surprise the large companies want to stay in - more protection for them through regulation!

MAGA!

Ignorant and poorly informed, uneducated voters who put us into the mess we're in today is what is killing this country. We create higher paying job for every low skill job we outsource. Basic Ricardian model explains that when countries focus their economic output on core competencies where they have a comparative advantage, both countries attain GDP curve outside of their domestic production. Some individuals (in low-skill manufacturing) will lose, but the country overall will benefit greatly. That's why as a civilized society we take care of one another through social programs that help those who are displaced. In many ways we already do. Just look up where food stamps and Medicaid enrollees are located - majority are in the deep red states. Fox News will have you believe that it's the "lazy intercity minorities" but that is not the truth. White, poor Americans in rural areas are the primary benefactors, per capita, of most social policies - same polices that Republicans want to destroy. It would be hilariously ironic if it didn't hurt everyone else.

This war on trade is only going to cost us in the long-run. The irony is that the ones that will be hurt the most are those who voted for this orange buffoon. Coal jobs, manufacturing jobs, low-skill labor in general is not coming back. Republicans are lying to people like you while democrats try and try again to pass job retraining bills to help those who lack the skills (read, education or access to education) to obtain high-skill jobs. That's the ****ed up part. It's the democrats that want people of the social welfare system and back in the labor force. And GOP politicians are clever enough to attach an emotionally charged issue, such as abortion, religion or gun ownership, to campaign rhetoric that clouds their economic policies in order to convince people to vote against their own interest. It's ridiculous.

I continue to be amazed by how gullible and easily manipulated some people are. It's time to wake up.

I only hope this excuse for a man, this orange monkey with **** for brains is impeached before he causes more damage to our country and the world at large. As one of the last good Republicans said, he's a "national disgrace and an international pariah." Time to get him out of there.

It is baffling how the environment we all live in became a divisive political issue.

Good point. I would even go further and say that even if there was genuine doubt, the fact that the nearest habitable planet is millions of light years away at best with no means for us to get there, we should really air on the side of caution. If the damage is being done, the consequences are too great to ignore.

I'm not american, so all the stupid stuff Trump does, doesn't bother me. Except this. This was the biggest reason for me why I din't want to see him at the White House. So I'm very happy that Tim Cook and others with power are trying to talk some sense into the president, though I fear its talking to deaf ears.

Hey at least you can say you won those wars when you were part of the team. Going it alone, Vietnam, Iraq....I would not trust you guys with a 3rd :p

I'd argue that skin cancer is doing a great job of taking us out slowly....

We'd won in Iraq when Obama took office. Everything else is on his plate afterwards.

We have proven we can take down ICBMs from N. Korea. And just to be historically correct, the Democrats got into Vietnam and also lost the war too. Ironically another hated Republican got us OUT of the fiasco.
History doesn't lie. People do.

Finally, Life expectancy in the USA is at an ALL TIME HIGH btw. More 100 year olds than ever in history.

I'll sum it up. The USA is tired of Europe telling us what to do and then NOT PAYING FOR YOUR OWN DEFENSE!

If not for Germany ironically, several European countries would have gone bankrupt. Greece already sorta did.
It's hard to trust the advice of bankrupt nations with more terrorism problems and they cannot solve them.
Europe has a track record of not seeing the more important problems right before it. That's why you've been conquered and over-run so many times.

I can't believe all the negative comments towards this, are people so stupid they don't realise the massive consequences of climate change, the whole fact that it will effect our very existence on this planet? Of course Tim should be concerned, we all should, even that cretin called Trump, the I e caps are melting fast, how is America going to be be great again if half of it is underwater, or being destroyed by more and more ever powerful storms, the man is an imbecile! WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!

It's unfathomable to me how the entire climate policy of the United States is in the hands of an ignorant fool who can barely compose a coherent tweet.

And let's be honest, this decision isn't being made by Donald, it's being made by Exxon Mobil. Hell, even their former CEO is Donald's Secretary of State. "Draining the swamp" - I can't believe how many millions of fools actually believed that claptrap.

Well - this is problematic. We could see increased device costs if nations choose to pursue punishment.
...we could also see increased device costs if global climate change causes global agricultural collapse over large sections of the earth. You know, considering two billion starving climate refugees don't really care how many megapixels the latest iPhone has. What an incredibly ignorant thing to say.

Genuinely confused by this, if Trump said he will walk away this is no surprise.

What I am surprised about is the panic, are you worried without this Americans can't work towards renewables?

Some clarify for me; this should not halt or slow down anything, if anything I thought Tesla was showing people don't mind as long as whatever you bring is executed well.

Yes, and how do we know all this? Because of the work of climate scientists. So why would you believe them if they tell you the climate has been changing for millions of years. But not when they tell you we are putting dangerous amounts of greenhouses gases in the atmosphere, and running the risk of derailing the climate?

Because we learn about the dinosaurs' climate through material evidence, and the only "evidence" we have for man made climate change are computer models that don't work when you plug in known temperatures from the past? Because we know that CO2 does not historically correlate with global temperatures, especially if you go back to the ice age and beyond? Because so much "evidence" of mmcc is fake (hockey stick, NASA editing historical temp records, putting temp sensors near a volcano, etc. Why fake evidence if it is real). Because there is a HUGE financial incentive to support the politics of the people who give you your funding? Because Christina Figueres of the UN accidentally let slip that climate change is about transforming (controlling) the world's economic model? Because it was warmer in the 90's when there was less CO2? Because CO2 isn't a greenhouse gas, and anyone with half a brain knows that water vapor is both much more abundant and much more effective at trapping heat in our atmosphere? Because "oh, but if you're wrong the world will be destroyed" is a kindergarten-level BS scare tactic that no thinking adult should seriously entertain?

No need to be toxic on this topic. But hey, why dont we just try to make things cleaner just in case something bad happen? I mean look at our advancements since the first industrial revolution. We have made so much foot print from millions of millions of manufactured goods and manufacturing facilities.

Whether you believe we are causing the pollution or not dont matter. We should take care of our world by trying to make our actions more environment friendly.

Sure, everyone is on board with a clean environment. People tend to forget that the US is the cleanest industrialized nation in the world. We were the cleanest before the Paris agreement (it's not a binding treaty), and we'll be the cleanest afterwards. This is just another unjustified attack on Trump. Obama should have been attacked for circumventing our legislature in the first place.

In other news, Apple customers urge Tim Cook to focus on Apple.

I am starting to see why Apple products are being held up. LESS politics and MORE product development, Tim.
[doublepost=1496302716][/doublepost]

Well, based on that statement, you are seriously dumb. I come from a rich family and have an advanced degree in STEM and support Trump.
[doublepost=1496302992][/doublepost]
The look on Apple CEO's face, plus the one between him and Trump, says it all. Really.

That one is Peter Thiel. He is a Trump supported and spoke at the Republican convention in 2016. You don't seem to know anything.

Unfortunately most Americans aren't smart enough to replicate what California does.

If they were smart, they would have done it already.

Unfortunately, Republicans don't control the judicial branch, where we actually limit your rights and freedoms and control you.

And, remember, far more people voted for Clinton than Trump. America is a liberal country.

The people have spoken, and the vast majority of people voted for liberals.

Right, because only Americans from California work in Silicon Valley, right? Tim Cook was born in Alabama. These type of posts really bring out the stupid in leftists.

Mate , no offence but the US is no victim at the international stage, it's one for the original Bullies.

I'm not European BTW, but when talking about paying, can Tim pay his taxes please ....you know that would more than cover your defence IOU

It's funny reading people whine as though it's happened. As for Tim Cook sticking his nose in, if you care about the environment so much why are you making planned obsolescence computers, where you glue and solder in everything you can. Don't see any of these people handing in their private jets either. Typical liberal hypocrite.

They're like the sad element of the brexit remainers in the UK, Trump could cure world hunger and cancer but they'd still find something to moan about. Liberals espouse tolerance yet the vocal ones are some of the least tolerant people.
