I'm glad you agree that it's OK for rich people to fly private jets, since they do not contribute substantially to global warming, and that it's a problem that's more a problem for the common people to solve, since they contribute substantially to global warming.
This has to be the most ignorant post I have seen in a while, because they are rich they don't contribute the same if not more as the "common" person? Ignorance at it's finest.

Good Riddance. Seriously they'd be just another country and they would still sell their stuff to us. Or we'd replicate what they have somewhere else.

Unfortunately most Americans aren't smart enough to replicate what California does.

If they were smart, they would have done it already.
This has to be a joke or a troll. Republicans control the executive the legislative and the judicial. 2/3rds of state governments.

The people have spoken , but communism never listens to the people.

Unfortunately, Republicans don't control the judicial branch, where we actually limit your rights and freedoms and control you.

And, remember, far more people voted for Clinton than Trump. America is a liberal country.

The people have spoken, and the vast majority of people voted for liberals.

If someone is rich, then they are most likely rich because of hard work & dedication. Who are you to tell them what they can and cannot do? If you have beef with that... ask your buddy Al Gore how his private jets and mansions are from the millions he's made off this crap.

If someone is rich, they are most likely rich because of their social status: rich parents, nepotism, and trust funds.

Remember, this is how Donald Trump got rich, because he had a rich dad.

Republicans like to think having rich parents is "hard work".

People that work hard are never rich.

count the number of conservative justices. They outweigh the liberal ones.

Sheer vote count does not elect the president. If that was the case, why would anyone in other than califormia, florida, or new york bother to vote?

Why do people say stuff like this?

If Tim is a citizen of the US. Then he has all rights to address his government. The constitution gives ALL citizens of the US the right to do so.
It's because narrow-minded people believe that Tim can only do one thing at a time. They believe that he spends all day, every day concerned about the world he lives in, and this somehow means that Apple cannot produce any products while he is thinking about global warming.

Let's see here, CA has what, 3 major industries:
1. Entertainment
2. Tech
3. Farming

#1 can be done anywhere. NY has done a lot of movies and IIRC most of Special Effects moved out of CA a while ago. They will chase the tax credits.

#2 can be done anywhere as well. Plenty of cities are tech metropolises. Including Texas which has tons of tech.

#3 is done in every state in the USA and plenty of others.

So yeah it's been done everywhere else already.

Climate change deniers who say (and believe) things like "what's the big deal, climate has always changed and always will" should realize how incredibly long these changes usually took in earth's history and how very, very, very much faster climate is changing right now. Here is an eye-opening illustration of the changing temperatures from 20.000 b.c. until today: https://xkcd.com/1732/

Really.....check out the buyers guide ;)

Of course it's about politics....

How adiorabe... the buyer's guide! I guess if you need help in making purchase decisions...

It's only political to the extent you feel compelled to politicize it. Mr. Cook has my full support taking a stand as that's in line with Apple's environmental position and commitment. And my views as well.

There are plenty of other companies to purchase tech from where you wouldn't need to be burdened with a CEO taking such a stand. Courage to switch tech vendors...

Sounds like you're listening to Fox News.

In reality, the Republican party is killing itself right now. The Democrats just need to relax, get a beer, sit back and watch the tire-fire train-crash implosion that the republicans are doing to themselves.
That's the smart money play. Unfortunately, we're talking about politicians. Blue or red, they have been know to cut off limbs to spite other limbs. We are the ones who suffer the ramifications. Politics is a zero sum game with big money special interest on one side and regular people on the other.

It's all a money game. Just to get money from us. Hopefully he pulls out of it. There's nothen we can do about climate change.

Look up the climate change graph. Then look up the Earth's population. Notice something? It's not all from burning carbon.
Which is worse: Overpopulated society burning carbon, or overpopulated society using hydro, solar, wind, and geothermal power? You have to cut carbon because of overpopulation. A large reason for overpopulation is because of the industrial revolution and the advances that it brought with it. And while those inventions were great, we must now find a better way forward or we'll reset our society down the road. I don't want my little daughter and son to have to clean up my mess like I'm having to clean up the mess of my ancestors.

Other places don't have the talent that California has, which is the reason it can't be replicated elsewhere.

How many schools have the computer science department equivalent to UC-Berkley or Stanford?

How many schools have the film departments equivalent to USC or UCLA?

Your mistake is thinking that people are commodities, and that people have the same level of skill everywhere, instead of being shaped by the institutions that exist in specific places.

This is why you fear Americans can be replaced by foreign labor, because you think of people as generic commodities, because you don't know any better than to be a generic commodity.

Really? Plenty of successful small business owners (The largest employer group in the USA) have worked hard and are rich.

Far more people are rich because of their status than because they work hard.

You forget that CO2 is a feedback loop. Plants turn CO2 into O2 and people use O2 and exhale CO2. You put more people on the earth you need more plants to clean it up. And then you have to take more plants away to house those people. And you need more plants to feed those people. So you're adding CO2 and removing the things that remove CO2.

Even if you add people without removing plants (skyscrapers) you still need to rape the Earth to build them be it concrete, steel, etc.
