Sorry, unless you are a perfect perfectionist, this is totally a non-issue. Why torture your mind with such a fifth world problem? Every manufactures knows variant within 3% products is acceptable.
Except we're taking Apple at their word on the 3%. And not all of us have what Apple considered typical usage patterns

Not likely. After the 6/6S, even a turd will look great.

No, nothing was as disappointing as "the year of the iPhone 5" amazing concepts designs popping up, tension building as the old model passes a year old, whispers of a larger screen, LTE, amazing features that android didn't have at the time, amazing breakthrough battery life...... ANNOUNCING THE iPhone 4S....... OH .

wow, this is crazy - my 6s has tsmc CPU while my wife's 6s has Samsung. Do you guys know what Apple will I bring a new 6s with a screen problem? would they replace just the screen or the whole phone? the reason I am asking is that her phone top left corner has bluish hue compared to the rest of the screen.

It makes perfect sense. Yes, the Samsung A9 is much worse at battery efficiency when running at its highest clockspeed. But the phone is very rarely at its highest clockspeed. Video is done on specialized decoding hardware, not the CPU, so video doesnt stress it. Music / UI navigation likely dont stress the CPU. What apple is saying is that only if you actually USE the CPU a whole whole lot do you see this difference. Which makes perfect sense.

And im really glad I got the TSMC :)
The difference will be there. Only need a proper trigger.

Glad that I don't want to buy iPhone 6s, or I will be toasted

Repeat: all chips are equal, but some are more equal than others.

What does "more equal" mean?

From my experience with the same issue, they will replace the entire phone.

and is a level of variation that could be seen between two devices with the same chip.

Same chip, but not the same Cellular radios (which were turned on).
There is no way this didn't affect test results. Just not possible.

Yeah, and random guys on youtuber testing with artificial usages on only one sample is much more believable.

Apple didn’t want to deal with it

That’s why Lrium has been pulled from the app store?
Now they are being forced to deal with it.

Indeed. The timing stinks. Why has Lirum been pulled from the App Store? Because Apple don't want people finding out which chip they have.

2-3% sounds like a made-up number. They've chosen it to sound within the margin of error. Yet multiple videos show discrepancies of 14-22% in battery life with repeated tests in real-world scenarios.

The chips are down for Apple.

Because Apple don't want people believe in nonsense. Not everyone is tech-savvy, those who are not tend to believe anything.

Because an 8% different in discrepancies is so much believable (from random opportunistic youtubers who love anything but bait clicks), and 90% real-world scenarios involve pushing the processors to the limit all the time. Yeah right.

Welcome to the MacRumors forums, where Apple is wrong unless they're wrong, and then they're really wrong!

Oh, and Steve would have never, you're *x*ing it wrong, yellow screens are defects, every version of iOS is the worst ever until the next one comes out and it becomes the best ever, etc.

The list would be longer, but I have a Samsung chip so my battery is about to die!

Got a chip on your shoulder? :D

So I'm here at Sam's club waiting to get an eye exam , and I'm siting here waiting reading this thread. I happened to look up and see this ........lol

There's hope for us Samsung chips :p

iPhone 6s w/ Samsung here. Amazing battery life so far. *shrugs*

And iPhone with "amazing" battery life falls into one of two categories.

1) A miracle
2) The person making the claim has a very low threshold of what he/she considers "amazing"

Apple can't win. People scream for more phones on launch. Apple delivers. People scream because they don't get the part manufacturer they want. Some of you people should really channel all this wasted energy into something more productive.
Yeah like the iPhone 7

Did anyone expect Apple to confirm this (without a lawsuit)? Lol.

Talk time: Up to 24 hours on 3G
Internet use: Up to 12 hours on 3G, up to 12 hours on LTE, up to 12 hours on Wi‑Fi
HD video playback: Up to 14 hours
Audio playback: Up to 80 hours
Standby time: Up to 16 days

These are the battery claims for the 6s+. Does anyone care to challenge them? Everyone with a samsung cpu stop whining and do some actual scientific tests. You can find here how they perform the battery testing (http://www.apple.com/iphone/battery.html). However, I don't know if you noticed but they say "up to". In a way, "Up to 24 hours on 3G" is the same as "Up to 2 years on 3G". The actual value is not advertised, only the upper limit (cheap marketing scheme).

Nowadays the Apple quality seems to be a legend, whispered by the elderly at camp fires. We're paying premium prices for medium quality phones which have all sorts of problems, from backlight bleeds to finger burning and now to battery hungry cpus. These topics and conversations should not exists for a 1000euros phone! You don't hear people with Lambos complaining. I wonder when will people smarten up and start buying something else? This is the first year when the iPhone 6s is not the best kid on the block. The next years will be interesting.

The 6S and 6S+ are the best iPhones for three years. If you want to have a go, pick on last year's POS 6+.

I agree about the QC though, it's pretty shocking. One almost expects to have to do an exchange when they walk out of the store with their sealed box new iPhone.

Got a chip on your shoulder? :D
Nah, I'm a little more careful than that when I eat. :D

Seriously though, there just comes a point where people need to let go and just enjoy what they have. Accept that nothing will ever be perfect, and don't buy products that consistently disappoint you.

I used to be the kind of person that would go on a dead pixel hunt every time I bought a new device. I would look for things wrong with the exterior of the device, and I would return devices with the slightest imperfections. I just got tired of all that. I'm now the proud owner of an iPhone 6s Plus with a speck of dust under the glass! I experience the same kinds of lag on iOS 9 that many other people do, and I really wish Apple would fix it. But what does getting bent out of shape over that accomplish? I submitted feedback, and that's that. Life goes on.

I kind of enjoy the fact that some people here on MacRumors will loose sleep over this.

Love how after Apple comes out with a statement, some are will defend them at all costs despite being the most vocals ones in the other thread complaining and whining about going to an Apple Store and demanding a replacement and stuff.

Bunch of hypocrites. lol
