Thanks to many of you, today a lot of us were able to get our hands on a matte black 7+ using the IUP link.

Any of you settled for the matte black because that's the only black available, but really wanted the jet black?

Saw a jet black in store. So covered with finger prints. No way. Matte is the way for me.

Picked up my 7+ 128gb black that I reserved this morning. I still can't believe I got it. Even the apply employee was confused how I got one. Payed outright but had to have the manager come over to confirm because the employee had no idea what was going on. It felt pretty weird being the only person walking out with a plus haha. Thanks everyone for the help!
Same here. The guy helping was like Oh this is a plus. I don't know how you did this. Lol

Just to add my experience at the Apple Store in Boston today, I reserved the plus I wanted (128 gold)and wanted to upgrade via my next upgrade to only be flat out told that i couldn't and that IUP customers have a 'vip' preference for getting new iPhones, to which I was a bit surprised because if it was advertised as such - I'm sure more people would consider joining it for that reason alone. I wish I had seen that in the confirmation email it says you can also upgrade via carrier financing or pay in full, I would've just showed her that. Maybe I'll try tomorrow and show them the email if the same thing happens to me, I was severely deflated:/

Didn't work for me, but it was because of Verizon which lock me from switching devices. I got all the way to verifying my verizon account but got flagged and need to call verizon. They would not allow me to upgrade even though I was not upgrading through them. And that is way I have TMO. Glad it worked for you.
Sorry to hear that!! Verizon smh. Thanks I appreciate it. Hopefully you can get one soon.

There's no way I'm catching up on the last 30 pages of this thread. But the updates on this thread this morning helped me snag a Verizon 32 silver plus at one of my local apple stores today.

Just because the link says you have to do an iUP program when you pickup the phone doesn't mean you actually have to. They just want to sign as many people up for that program as possible. You reserve your phone, then in the store you can pay however you like.

I'll share my story. I got mine paid in full with no questions asked. The guy even looked up the LTE specs on the phone to make sure it would work with my cricket plan (I knew it would, but it was cool of him to check). I was in and out of the store in less than 20 minutes, and all before my actual reservation time. They were telling walkin people that they were sold out of most Plus models though, so just make sure you reserve online shortly after 8am when their stock gets updated, and you'll have your phone secured. The craziness is almost over people!

EDIT: words are hard

Thats ridiculous.

Heck the first thing I heard when I got in the apple store was an employee say to a customer
"OH MY GOD, that was absolutely disgusting you need to cover your d**n mouth" person sneezed and thats what was said to her. she tried talking to me, I walked right past her to the next employee and she gave me a scolding look

That is crazy! So your carrier has a say if you can go with IUP or not.

Weird, I thought it was BIZARRE. It was the Stanford store in Palo Alto... not a high theft area but kids are stupid and even in the store there were phones laying around ... it was odd.
Today at my store there were some students from Japan (I think) and they actually took the security device off to hold the phone. I guess they have less crime where she's from...

Crime is much lower in Japan, yep. It's not really in their culture to steal.

But either way, the store at Stanford Center in Palo Alto, CA has no security devices on any of the 40 or so phones. Tho not sure those things provide anti-theft security as much as they just provide organization and people from walking all over and losing them.

Just wanted to confirm that you can pay full price for a SPRINT phone and use it on another network.

Bought a Sprint 7+ today and used it on T-Mobile with no issues.

Glad you got it!! Using mine as well and I'm in love...!
Thats good.
It feels like an ordinary day with an iPhone to me..Nothing really major that has me impressed other then the color lol!
Just wanted to get rid of my galaxy

I looked at both but decided I was too concerned about the potential of scratches on the jet black so I went with the regular black

What a Day!

First of, a big thank you to everyone on this thread. You guys are the reason I got a 7plus today!

I've been up till 4am 3 nights in a row trying to get an unlocked/sim free iPhone 7 plus.

I use Cricket pay as you go and very much wanted to keep it that way. NO contract.

Anyways i reserved a 7+ Rose Gold 128GB Verizon using the IUP link this morning for 6pm today.

Got in at the apple store in Boston at 5:55pm, spoke to an Apple staff who asked me to wait for a specialist.

I told the specialist i wanted to buy the phone outright and he said he couldn't to process my reservation until i showed him the email confirming my reservation where it says you can pay via other payment methods - in full etc. Thank goodness for fine print!

In all i got my 7+ and its unlocked (i put in a UK t-mobile sim, At & T sim & cricket sim) all worked fine. The Apple guy did stress not to turn on the phone with the Verzion sim still inside else it locks to Verizon.

P.S- Still cant use the 7 yet as my cases, screen guard havent arrived yet :(
Wow, I did not know that you can't turn it on with the included sim inside. Do you know if this could happen to an AT&T phone? I'm not in the US AND had a friend pick up one Plus for me and bring it to me on Wednesday when he flies back to the country. I'm afraid he might have turned it on to check it out

Is this the one on Boylston?

For me,that's the worst Apple Store in America. Trust me. I have had HORRIBLE experiences at that place. I even wrote a very damning letter to Tim Cook about it on the last iPhone launch. 4 different people called me including a manager who offered me a free case for my troubles. Then one other time I went to get my phone replaced because it wouldn't lock on GPS for long time and battery would drain like 1% per 2 mins till it locked on GPS. It was very strange, the "genius" there verified my problem and then told me I want someone else to look at it and the other guy told me the battery is bad and that's the most he can do,I told him are you sure because the other guy just confirmed that the GPS is having an issue too and he tells that's an excuse you would give to get your phone replaced, without even looking into my issue.

It was indeed the one on Boylston haha, glad I wasn't the only one with what it seemed like twilight zone answers from people who admittedly were new, which who can blame them it's probably madness. But the manager they got and the shrewdness with which she told me I couldn't buy the phone sitting on the table in front of me that because essentially I wasn't a VIP haha. I think I'll try reserving one at different location and just start the conversation with the confirmation email saying you can do carrier financing... wish me luck lol

It's so weird... but I love it glad I went with the larger one

Same here, it just feels so much nicer in the hand haha.

Here in Canada, reserved a 256GB iPhone 7 Plus at 8am, picked it up at 1pm and here we are. Aside from a few issues - yellow tinge, (night shift is off!), random pixel issues when I view my notifications and the home app not intializing...overall sexy phone!
