Does the iPhone In Store Reserve page update throughout the day or just once? I checked last night at 12:01 and throughout the night but it never updated. I am confused when it updates

Quick question. I would be new to the iPhone upgrade program. I currently have a iPhone 6s Plus on a ATT next monthly payment. If i was able to reserve a 7 plus via my local apple on the program i was going pop my sim in that and toss the 6s plus on ebay and use that money to pay off the remainder of my 6s.

Since i am going through apple and the phone is technically unlocked and i am popping my sim in to use on my ATT account. Will i get charged another activation fee? On't att just see it as a unlocked iphone? When i go to the checkout screen like i would have the phone sent to me it says ATT terms, "no contract" or something along those lines.

Either way our activation fees's get waived even if added with our plan, but i am not sure how ATT see's the new phone on the account.

Same with my store. Stayed red all night and every time I clicked it it says refreshed 0 seconds ago like as if it was not working. I'm hoping 8 am changes that.

Seems the state of Texas didn't get any Plus models!!

Tons of 7s though so hopefully thats a good sign.

I have contemplated going to the 7 but I think I'd miss the battery too much.

I live in Austin, TX. There were 128GB and 256GB Black 7+'s last night at 12:01am. I snagged mine and by time 12:10am was done, they were gone...

4 hour ride from the DFW wouldnt have been fun either on a Monday morning. :)

I thought from reading this thread this weekend it went live at 801am but it seemed to go at 1201am instead. I messed up there.

Do you know if Texas time it was midnight or 11 our time?

Thanks for replying

I debated yesterday to drive to San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, if they had my phone. I opted to wait it out one more night and glad I did.

To answer your question, it was midnight 12:01am CST that it went up and I was able to get my phone.

The East Coast went live at 12:01am their time first, then CST, then PST. They did it one by one.

If you want to take advantage of the IUP, I would be ready at 12:01am every night ready to go. It was sketchy for the first two days. but Apple seems to of gotten on a fixed refresh time with the phones.

Hope this helps, good luck!!!

*EDIT* - When you get through on the site, you're able to choose a reservation time from opening to close at the Apple Store. So if you need/want to drive anywhere, you can choose the last time available at the store and go get it. They put your name on the phone and hold it if you get a reservation confirmation. No one can take it from you.

Checked the iup reservation link last night a few minutes past midnight. Had to go through all nearby Apple Stores before finally finding the 7+ model we wanted (256GB, Verizon, matte black) at the last one. Reserved, went in this morning, no wait, paid in full and walked out. Thank you MacRumors Forums! :) :) :)

You weren't previously enrolled in the IUP right? I have a reservation and I'm heading to my local Apple Store soon, hoping it works out. I'd like to pay in full but I'm not coming from the iPhone Upgrade Program.

I used the IUP today to pickup my 7+. I was coming off of an expired 2 year AT&T contract. No issues.

Nope. Last year I just bought an iPhone at full price.

Excellent information here, thanks so much. Looks like my old ass is staying up until midnight tonight to try again lol.

I am a brand new ATT customer so I am wondering how this will work. My wife got her line up and going as she got the 7 shipped last Friday and her line is on ATT and active and mine is still with TMobile as I wait for my shipment.

Fingers crossed tonight!

That's the same boat I was in. Wife's ATT phone came in, I was switching to T Mobile from my expired ATT contract and waiting on T Mobile pre order just like you. But with a broken touch diseased 6+, I needed a phone from whatever company was able to get one in my hands first haha.

You'll get one at 12:01am if you're right on it.

All you have to do is select model, size, color, then sign in with Apple ID and that's it. Then walk into Apple, give reservation code, phone comes out, you pay, and in 10 min you're out the door. No line, no hassle.

Do you guys think stock will be updated throughout the day as shipments come in today, or do we have to wait until midnight?

You don't need to reserve a new one to swap a broken one. They have replacement stock at the genius bar that's totally separate.

Oh is that right? That would be amazing. I thought I read that they don't have replacement stock yet.

Using the link we all have to check store stock works at 12:01.

To check at 8AM, you go to Apple.com and choose the iPhone you want. After that there should be boxes that show capacity, underneath that box are links that you can click on to see if there are any available. This is the way to check according to the Apple Store people.

As for stock being updated: According to my Apple Store, they do NOT add any new shipments to store inventory until after the store closes. That said, you could get lucky by showing up at the store at just the right time. As long as they have one not reserved for someone else, they can sell it to you.

I have checked for 7+'s of any capacity and have only found a 32GB. I even checked a store 3 hours away. If I could get an 128/256 matte black, I would've driven there. So far NO luck at all. My 'pre-order' has been 'preparing' to ship since Saturday. :(

They may not have replacement stock at your store. You need to go check. If they do not, you may have to call Apple care and see if they can expedite one to you.

I wish there was a way to check, other than going to the store itself.

My wife and I are in the medical field and she is on-call quite often, so we need our phones to function properly 100% of the time. Our plan is to go tonight without a Genius bar appointment (next one isn't available until Thursday, tho I booked it just in case) and hopefully they have a replacement.

On the phone with Apple Care now, lets see what they can do.

I checked istocknow.com for the iPhone 7 Plus model I wanted and found it at the local Apple Store. I walked in there 45 minutes before they closed last night and they had it when I asked. It was nice to just walk in and buy it this close to release.

Hi i have a question. I'm currently using Samsung Galaxy note 5 now. Could i reserve iPhone 7 plus via IUP Program and pay full price when i'm at store even though i haven't used any iPhone yet. Thanks

I reserved a Matte Black 128GB Verizon using the IUP Reservation Link. Went in there and told them I wanted to use VZW Device payments and they did it with no problems. I cancelled my preorder and the rep there finished up the order. It was really easy, thank you to everyone on the forum for putting up the link and confirming this method works!

Must be nice. I just went to the website and it showed out of stock just on the entire map. Not sure how many miles out it goes.
