What if I picked up my 7 plus today & just stuck my sim in. Which is what I plan to do, I did enter my ATT account to secure & go through the IUP program. But I just used the primary number on our account which is my fiancés to go through the verification, didn't think it mattered. What if I just pop my sim in & don't change the imei number? I could always go into att and just say I want to use this phone on my number etc.

We have 4 lines on our account my fiancé the primary and I'm a authorized user. I figured ATT would see it as a un locked phone I put onto one of our lines. Should be no biggie.
I think I might have the answer for this. So my gf had a Samsung on t mobile and I have ATT. So I reserved a phone yesterday through the IUP link on my primary line on my ATT account with the intention of actually doing the IUP. I get there and I'm approved and I tell the specialists that I am going to set it up at home so my gf and I get home and I remove the SIM card from your t mobile Samsung and put it in the iPhone and turned it on and bam! Worked perfectly.

So my question is that I have reserve a Sprint model of the iPhone 7 plus 256gb my carrier is AT&T because this phone is dual band from what I read I should just be able to pop my sim card in and be good... So will I have any issue with "APPLE" selling me the phone on my next upgrade?

Pretty sure you need an AT&T phone to do the Next program. The sprint phone would be fine if you were just paying in full.

I made a IUP reservation for a Verizon 7+ and paid in full. Using it with T-Mobile. Walked out with the phone without any activation. Just make sure to NOT turn on the phone with the Verizon SIM card. Swap the card with your att SIM card before turning it on.

Turning the phone on with the Verizon sim in it isn't a problem since it's not registered to any account.

So many black 7s in my area...no 7+

Really battling whether to go smaller this year and this isn't helping.

Christiana, Delaware just updated with a ton of Plus models. If you're on East coast you should check your stores.

Can anyone here confirm this that may have done or went this route?

Yes. It has to be AT&T. I'm an ex employee of the company. Worked in a corporate retail store.

Anyone know how quickly the Att next will reset when you return your phone?

It should reset immediately if you are returning in store.

If it helps at all... if you are or have been leaning toward the plus... wait it out. I went with the regular 7, but had been planning on the 7+ since the keynote. This would be my first time with the plus model. When I couldn't get one, went with the regular 7. Now today, I am exchanging out for a plus. I feel badly for wasting a phone. I tried to convince myself to just stick with the 7 and talked myself into why it was a better decision for me... was wrong and wasted a phone in that.

Looks like IUP link won't allow people who don't actually have IUP to purchase the phone anymore..I've tried grand central yesterday and soho today. They won't let me purchase it and ask me to wait in line as walk in.

Question. Last Friday I picked up the phone I reserved for the IUP (a silver 128 + for Verizon) now say if I find a matte black 128 + for Verizon and reserve it, do I just walk into my local store where I reserved it and say I want to exchange phones since it is within the 14 day return period?

I am sort of confused. I reserved mine as an iPhone upgrade program for pick up today, but in the email i received this morning to confirm my reservation, it said that you aren't required to do the IUP. It says you may do a carrier financing plan, just ask a sales rep for information and have your carrier account information with you.

Will it reset immediately even at the Apple Store or just at an att store? I ordered thru apple and will have to return there.

I believe so but there will be a restock fee.

I believe people are quoting like 5 minutes. Typically it is immediate wherever you return/exchange. It's immediate for this reason exactly. A lot of the time, people are exchanging devices, so the eligibility needs to return quickly to assist the customer in a timely fashion.

hi, I have a friend that is going to San Diego this weekend, is there any way to buy an iPhone right now? I live in a country with no apple stores

Maaaan. Finally got some 128GB Black 7+ in my local store and I can't reserve one because of the "service unavailable" thing. FML. Never been this disheartened at an iPhone launch. It's just been failure after failure. Ugh.

In the same boat. How do you make a reservation when the service is unavailable, but the store has them in stock! This whole launch....man....

If one is on the "iPhone Forever" plan through Sprint. Getting a phone via IUP reservation shouldn't be a problem right?

Tried buying a phone outright at apple store after I made a reservation and was told I had to use the upgrade program or else I can't buy the phone.
Some people on here were able to do so, but I was told I couldn't.
