Been following this thread for a few days and just picked up my 7+ with absolutely no problems. Made a reservation this morning around 7:30 for a 7+ through the IUP link. I was hesitant after reading some peoples stories about getting turned away but figured what the hell. I was totally up front at check in with what I wanted to do (by phone at full price) and to the sales employee that helped me. They didn't question a thing. Shot the **** with some employees for a bit, phone was brought out, and I was gone in 5 minutes. No manager, no help getting some different transaction screen, just rang it right up.

My take away...

It is 100% up to the employees. I am sure they know the deal by now. They have been doing tons of transactions from open to close for 6 days. Don't pretend like you don't know what you're doing. Be up front and polite. These guys have been dealing with the public at an insane volume recently and probably welcome and appreciate politeness and honesty. Good luck!

This was my exact experience at the Annapolis, MD Apple Store. I reserved a 7+ this morning through the IUP link, told the employee I wanted to pay in full and walked out with an unopened box basically no questions asked.

Has anyone had, or heard of, any issues with Verizon iPhone reservations needing Verizon activation before being able to pop-in other network SIM cards into it? Theoretically, you should just be able to put in an AT&T SIM, for example, without needing to activate the phone with Verizon. What are your experiences?

Indeed, this thread is filled with confirmations of that. Only caveat is that you must buy the phone up front, no upgrade/payment plan.

Sigh, will there EVER be jet black models to reserve? I keep checking every night and then get my hopes dashed each time. November seems so very far away. :(

I had some free time right now so I showed at Apple Los Cerritos to see if they could process my reservation early.

No dice, the dude told me I have to come back at my reservation time.

The fact that the guy seemed grumpy and not very welcoming added to my annoyance and disappointment :/

I just checked the site at random and there happened to be one 128gb black att phone so I reserved it for tonight

Picked up my 128GB 7+ matte black and cancelled my 'pre-order.'

Get this: I called Apple to cancel my preorder and they cancelled my pickup instead. Thank God the store rep knew there was NO way anyone was cancelling a pickup for a 128GB 7+.

Chose to set up phone as new, so I've been spending most of the day setting up.

Second time today the right phone showed up, and I was unable to schedule a reservation because the "service was unavailable"

WTF?! Other people don't seem to be having this issue?

Argh, was following the istocknow.com and saw the exact phone I want finally show up. I call the Apple Business team to have it reserved (can't through the Apple website since its a Verizon business line) and they sent me a reservation text to come pick it up. Then they call and say there was a mixup and the shipment was tagged for walk-ins when it really was intended for preorders... So no iPhone today for me...

I'm on a Verizon business account and I reserved my 7+ through the upgrade program link. No problems.

Dear Macrumors, how on earth do you make a reservation on Apple's own site, when it ALWAYS says:

We’re sorry, but this service is currently unavailable.

I'm trying to reserve one right now too and am getting the same error. When I go back and try again it still shows its available, but I can't get the reservation to finish.

I just tried to reserve this way and got the same error. I happened to check the Apple Store app, and the same store showed availability on that. (By the time I hit the buttons it was gone)

It makes me wonder if they're no longer segregating "upgrade program" inventory from "pickup today" inventory.

If that's the case, eff this stupid reserve website.

Through the Apple website or the Verizon business website? I tried and got an error saying to contact my verizon business rep

finally got a 7+ plus black 128. pick up is in a couple of hours. I had beta ios10 on my 6 and am on the GM 10.0.1. Am I going to be able to restore from that backup with the new phone? Im thinking the general release iOS 10 is 10.0.0 build

I used this link https://reserve.cdn-apple.com/US/en...1&sourceID=email&rv=0&path=&iPP=U&appleCare=Y

I'm not sure if the reservation system is still working. Looks a little spotty for people here. But I just reserved it like it's a normal account. And told the specialists that I'm getting my 2 year upgrade on my verizon business account, and they know what to do. It's a little longer process in store, but went well.

If you try to buy online and then choose in store pickup, I don't think it'll work.

All right guys, I just got done at the Apple store. I was able to pick up my phone I had reserved and I was able to upgrade it on Verizon's financing instead of the iPhone upgrade program

The phone will update to 10.0.1 before you restore from your backup.

Boy, now I'm even more convinced. No sooner did I type this than I saw MB 7+ 128GB IUP stock light up in the Bellevue, WA store. I promptly launched the Apple Store app, and bought one for instore pickup through that. No shenanigans for IUP or anything.

It still says processing.. I'm kind of holding my breath until I have it in-hand, after all the craziness of this launch.

Any thoughts on availability of the 256 model? We're finally seeing 128s in good numbers, do you guys think 256s will begin appearing as well? Or are they in the same boat as the Jet Blacks in general?

P.S. SF Bay Area here

I've been seeing 256 pretty often just the not so popular colors like silver and rose gold.

After sitting on the reservation site and iStock for days, I decided to pay a visit to my local AS. Was hoping they would have some +'s in stock that they don't show online but turns out they've barely gotten any since launch day (turns out iStock has been right all along).

Anyways, I was able to speak to the manager and confirmed with her that I can indeed use the IUP link and pay in full once I make my reservation without being enrolled into the program. So, that was delightful to hear. Guess I don't have to worry about some "mean" specialist rejecting my reservation like other people have been experiencing. Now I just gotta live on the reservation link everyday till I find this phone.
