Hey everyone,

For those of you who have done the AOL process. Have you done it on the "Add a line" plan or the existing UDP line?

Thanks!

So has anyone done the ship-to-home option, swapped SIM cards and been able to retain the unlimited data plan? From what I can gather, there were some that did in-store pickup that swapped SIMs, but not sure about those that had theirs delivered.

I did it on the add a line.

Do you know if there is a waiting period after activation before which I can transfer the line to someone else?

there is no waiting period

I have also done it on a ship to home phone when I got my first iPhone 6 on friday

You activated the iphone 6 with the SIM that came in the phone, right? I tried this on Friday, as stated in a past reply, but it did not work for me this way. I activated with the SIM that came with the phone, phone kept saying I needed to contact CS when trying to make a call, even an hour or so later.

Just wondering if anyone has specifically done the SIM swap successfully with ship-to-home added line.

I just turned my phone on typed in billing zip code and last four and it activated

I understand it worked for you. I also put in my zip and last 4. It did not work for me. Other than you, I don't think I saw a reply in this thread that this worked for anyone else.

So has anyone confirmed that this worked with SIM swap for ship-to-home phone?

I can't believe it, it let me do it again! So I canceled my other order, changed my billing address on verizonwireless, and reordered and it let me do the same thing. Screen shots attached. Wow. so I'm going to get an iphone at discount price and let a family member take over my new unlimited data line. Pretty freakin sweet!

How did you get unlimited minutes? Am I reading it right, $70 for unlimited minutes, data, and texts? If so I want in! :D

Would this work?

Account 1: iPhone 4s, out of contract, upgrade eligible w/UDP
Account 2: iPhone 4s, out of contract, upgrade eligible w/UDP

Buy iPhone 5 at retail (go to B&M Best Buy) for each line. Put iPhone 5 on each line so I have an 4G phone active on each line.

Get 2 nano Sims from Verizon shipped, use Micro Sim adapter and put them in iPhone 5's

Order iPhone 6, pick up at Apple or get shipped to home. Don't let them activate it. Bring it home, take out the nano Sim's from both iPhone 6

Take out the nano sim's being used in iPhone 5's and use them in the Iphone 6's, then turn on iPhone 6's

OR is it easier/better to do this?......

Both have been checked on Apple.com to add Unlimited iPhone plans, and both showed eligible.

Add iPhone unlimited to both lines, activate new UDP lines, suspend old lines after swapping phone numbers.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of feedback of people having success of just adding Unlimited iPhone plans, going to the store, turning on iPhone and activating it and having the additional UDP line, unless I'm missing some postings

any updates on people adding Unlimited iPhone line to their existing plans and going to Apple store for pick-up? Is it working by just having them activate the whole thing OR do we need to bring it home?

I'm concerned because my iP6 is ready for pick-up, i don't want to screw this up. I added a new Unlimited iPhone line. I cannot do the sim swap because my line has a 4s UDP on it. I don't have an available 4G phone to put on that line either.

Either try it yourself and see what happens or buy a 4G LTE phone off of craig's list and do the swap.

Nope. 450 minutes. No texts. (I use Google voice)

Mind pm'ing me the cost of your total monthly bill? Verizon has been jerking me around non-stop since the iPhone 6 launch and Im ready to cancel all of my lines and just have the one 39$ 450 minute and unlimited data.

Well, I made my order today by adding a line to my legacy account. It will be interesting to see how this whole thing works out. Are there any suggestions with how to proceed?

When I pick it up tomorrow, I am going to just swap out my current iphone nano sim chip to the 6. I'm also not going to activate it in store. This is the correct move, right?

Again, if you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Does it show up in Mobile Safari? My friend has an iPad I could ask her to try her iPad.
Sorry for late reply. Friends with alcohol showed up to watch football, three of them did not leave.

Yes, my option showed up in Mobile Safari. A suggestion I have not offered or considered - have any of you tried this in the Apple Store App (there's an iPhone version and an iPad version)? Still not showing up in Chrome/Opera/Firefox. But, it appears that there's some nested thing going on with Apple's website, as in data coming directly from VZW. I'm going to place an order today before Apple/VZW shuts this down, if they haven't already.

Also, I did not mention that I'm using Safari without any blockers whatsoever (in a user account I use for financial transactions only). In my "web surfing" profile that I'm composing this in, I do use ad-blockers for some of my browsing) - I'm pretty good and fairly rigid at segregating my online activities. Maybe take this point into consideration?

My only concern is that I'm considering upgrading each of my 3 personal lines and wondering how this will affect that, via a "hold". I'll take screen shots, if I'm successful - I've seen the ones that aren't able to get to the UL option.

Yeah, the Best Buy Method was first discovered by a poster over on Android Central. The Best Buy Method should have been named The Otwok Method, lol! That's where I got most of my info about what works and doesn't wrt upgrading UDP lines. There are posters over on AC's Verizon forum who are very knowledgeable about Verizon.
Thanks for the history lesson - you and I each shared one! I read AC and Droid-Life all the time, I owned a GNex on VZW (POS) and used a Play purchase for T-Mo (no coverage for me), and a RAZR MAXX and Galaxy S3 from VZW but they couldn't get the same coverage as my iPhone 4/5 in some parts of the PNW. Anyone who spills deets on the carriers' plans is golden with me (besides the obvious wont to part with as much of our cash as possible).

As an aside, Motoblur is no more ever since Google bought Motorola. Moto phones run pure vanilla android with some very useful Motorola apps added in. Pure vanilla android+. Not that anyone here cares, but . . . . .
GTK, and you'd be surprised for the Android love on this site. I dig on those who embrace tech - I started with S60. I need Exchange, and two of my clients have banned Android handsets, so the iPhone it is for me and my staff.

Wheeler has to enforce 47 cfr 27.16, though. IMO, it is best to make it clear that what Verizon is proposing to do is governed by that regulation so Wheeler knows the public is not ignorant of the Block C license restrictions.
<soapbox>I have no faith in the FCC in this. VZW uses aggregated moneys from its subs and subsidies from the government as a wielded tool to make its position known. I will be emailing Wheeler, and I think I'll add this point to my already-drafted text.</soapbox>

JJ, you've busted your butt (no innuendo intended - I'm not like that) to help all of us out. Thanks for that, and this... :D

It shouldn't exist as we all know. Verizon is probably aware by now and will remedy it when the appropriate people return to work Monday who can fix it.

I would think the appropriate would be at work this weekend seeing how it was a major launch going on but who knows. Sooner or later it will just hope it's not before the end of this week

Funny, that. All of the IT guys I know that "remedy" things work from about 1 pm to 4 am, cleaning up the mess that normal people make. While they're not downloading and archiving pr0n, that is...

I was placing an order just a bit ago, and had to chat with a tech named "Nelson" on Apple's website. I'd put a $100 the tech's name is not "Nelson". Before you take me up on that bet, I checked the IP address...

And, that's why I took screen shots and printed out a receipt of my order of 15 minutes ago. I agree that this will be "fixed" soon, but I have my order in writing.
