Any recent updates from anybody who added a new Unlimited line @Apple ?

I just picked up a phone and everything went well. They scan activated the phone, and I took it home. The new line was showing on my account with the unlimited plan, but I was too scared to try to activate the new phone with the new SIM. But everything seems okay with me activating with a SIM swap.

thanks for the info but that last step is really important to me guess I could always get the phone and go get a new sim from Verizon. I would rather be safe than sorry since the former price plan team is not letting anybody get unlimited back if it's lost

My sister has had unlimited with VZW for over two years on a single-line plan. I told her about this thread, but when she enters her info. on the Apple site (using Safari), it doesn't show her current unlimited plan and it's forcing her to select a new data plan. Any ideas?

Sounds like she's trying to upgrade her current line, which she will find information about in the slickdeals thread. The information in this thread is to add a line.

how are you guys getting same day pickup? I've been trying all day and there's nothing available in the NYC area????

My local store only had the 128GB model, which is not what I wanted but will work for now.

There is no availability. It sucks that I can't preorder a phone for pick up lets say next week. I do not mind waiting at all but do not want to do ship to home because apparently its not working... I rather just do it at the store but its not like I can wait at the store either on line because the Unlimited Iphone option is not available there either. This is getting frustrating. But I feel like I have to keep refreshing it on my laptop looking for "Available Today."

So I have two Verizon lines with UDP that are month-to-month at this point with two upgrades available. My wife is interested in the new iPhone 6. If I use my upgrades on those two lines then I will lose the unlimited and must select a tiered data plan I believe.

I have tried logging in through the Apple website and it looks like I might be able to add a new line with unlimited data as that is an option for me. From what I understand people have been able to do that.

My question is as follows: Can I add an unlimited line with a new number and then eventually switch my wife's current number to that line, and then ultimately cancel her current line that is unlimited (month-to-month).

Wondering if anyone has done this. Thanks in advance.

that can be done but you might have to use google to port it

Which one are you looking for? I see Iphone 6 available for pickup. Are you looking for 6+?

only want the 6+

We have two unlimited lines. Just tried this now and no go. Only see the ME plans. Anything specific that someone did? Tried chrome, Safari, and ipad Safari

I was wondering the same thing as I am in the same situation. When you say that it can it be done but may need to port the number, which number are you talking about?

When I select "add a new line" and enter in my verizon credentials, I'm getting an error that says "your request couldn't be processed." Has anyone else experienced this?

Your phone number and contract are tied together. You cannot sign up for a new unlimited line and simply transfer your old number to it. The old number has to be ported first which will then end the contract and then I believe you can port it over to the new unlimited line you just opened. Hope that makes sense.

What browser are you using? I've seen maybe one other poster have such an error I think. I don't think he ever found a way to Get it to work for him. You can maybe try a different browser.

It's possible it just won't work for you. It doesn't work for everyone.

Thanks OP for this post!

I have been able to do this twice now, each time with in-store pick up. I'll try to explain the steps below, hopefully it helps and clarifies things a bit for those who are trying store pickup.

1. Added an additional individual line with an iPhone 6 (line #2) to my individual line with iPhone 5s on UDP (line #1)
- went through the web portal, chose the 450 minute plan --> iPhone unlimited data --> 250 text messaging plan (also a grandfathered feature)
- at the store, the rep just scanned the device and activated the new UDP line, without opening up the new device
- after i left the store, line #2 is shown activated on my Verizon account, with the unlimited data and 250 text features on the line, but without a device attached to it
- went home and used line #1's SIM to turn on and activate the new iPhone 6
- used line #2's SIM in the 5s, waited a bit for it to activate and receive signal
- swapped the SIM cards back, and both lines still showing unlimited data

before going through the in-store pick up process again, I converted the 2 individual lines on the account into a 700-minute family plan.

2. Added an additional line to the family plan with a 6+ (line #3)
- web portal didn't ask me to choose minutes, only data + text features. chose iPhone unlimited & 250 text again
- went through the same steps as #1: picking up the phone in store with a line activated without a device attached to it, then activating the device at home

Curious, would anyone here be interested in taking over one of the unlimited lines (for free, contract end date 9/23/2016)?

I've tried using chrome (with and without incognito), IE, and firefox and all are giving me the same error... Will try tonight using safari, but I'm wondering if it's something specific to my verizon account...

That's very much possible seeing how it doesn't work for everyone and others have tried different browsers also.

has any one person bought the phone from apple -an added line with the unlimited iphone data plan, have it shipped to home, and then successfully activated it on their own, while keeping the unlimited data on it?
no sim swapping or anything. just the added line.

mine is due to arrive thursday. it's obviously too late to cancel. the stores won't process a return if the phone is bought on the apple site. even if i ship it back right away, i probably won't get cleared to try again (with a store pick-up) till next week. might be too late by then.

I'm pretty sure you can return it as others on this forum have had success doing. I only know of one person on here saying that he did ship to home successfully and used the new sim. I've heard from others on here that people on slick deals have done the same.

dammit!!! had one for 5th ave store available today got all the way to place order and received an error. tried again and not available anymore. Dammit! If I choose pick up today how long do they hold it?
