LMAO Is it not working for anyone else?

----------

LMAO verizon is upgrading their systems. Let's hope that's the issue

IF i order a line via apple and then switch phones to a old udp line, would the old line that i switched to be in contract?

So basically

Line 1 iphone 4 phone #1111
New line iphone 6 phone #9999

When I get iphone 6 I want it to go onto Line 1 (1111), would this prevent me from being throttled on line 1 ?

It won't change/extend line 1 contract. Only way to extend it's contract is to use it's upgrade via bb method or something else.

Thank you, That's what I was thinking. I have the option to add a udp line, but don't need it and don't know anyone that could use it.

Worked for me

Just wanted to report that this method worked for me as well:

(To begin with, I had a single line with grandfathered unlimited data. I was also month to month, out of contract)

- Added an existing line to my account.

- Chose 450 minutes, 250 text messages, skipped adding data on the first screen, added data on the second screen (all the way to the right, unlimited 29.99/month) (please note that the plan options I selected were identical to my existing plan, don't know if that matters)

- Purchased iphone 6 with in-store pickup at the subsidized/reducued price

- Apple employee scanned the device. While in the store I checked My Verizon app on my existing phone, the new iphone 6 was listed.

- Went home, turned on iPhone 6, tested calls and text, everything works as expected.

- My Verizon now lists 2 devices, both with the identical plan, unlimited data. (though I did have to sign up for a 2 year contract on the new line I purchased)

No, total of 3 lines.

2 unlimited
1 basic phone

what you might be able to do is apply the upgrades from the unlimited plans to the 1 basic phone.

if you do that the contract is extended for the unlimited phones and your UDPs are untouched. try it on VZW... you will have to upgrade the basic phone to a 4G phone - get the $30 a month plan. Apply the 2 upgrades to the third line, activate them on the third line, switch the new phones to the UDP lines. once you've done that you should be able to switch the third line back to a basic phone line. You won't be able to order both phones at once. You will need to use the upg from line 1, switch the phones, then use the upg from line 2.

Actually the basic line is due for a upgrade also, would that change anything?

Basically at this point what I want to do is just get 1 new iphone 6 on line 2.

so here is what I have
Line 1 udp 4g phone upgrade available
Line 2 udp 3g phone upgrade available no sim
Line 3 basic upgrade available

I just want to get a new phone on line 2, but not sure how to do it as it doesn't have a sim as its 3g.

do the 4g one first. since its easiest... apply its upgrade to the dumbphone. get shipped the new phone and SIM. activate it once you get it. line 1s contract is now extended. Do a device swap once its activated so line 1s phone is on line 3 and vv.

you can do more reading at the SD thread: http://slickdeals.net/f/6964624-upgrade-and-keep-your-unlimited-data-with-verizon?v=1

Do you think I could just upgrade line 1 and then swap it line 2? And then reactivate my 4g phone that I used?

With this method he/she might be stuck with a data plan on the dumb phone line. Well that's according to Verizon for any transfer upgrades after the 8/24/14. Not sure how true that is. I don't recall anyone trying this method after the 8/24. I guess he/she can try but they should be aware that they might have issues canceling the data.

As mentioned before the easiest method would be the bestbuy method for them to keep unlimited and extend their contract.

Yes, having an upgrade on the basic line does make a difference. You would have to use it first before you are able to transfer any upgrades to that line. The best method would be to use the bestbuy method on line 1. Someone already provided a link for the thread on slickdeals. Just read the wiki.

ETA.. I think I mispoke above. Transferring from an unlimited to a basic would supposedly lose the unlimited data according to Verizon after 8/24. I'm not sure if anyone has tried it since.

well if you transfer the upgrade from 1 to 2 it will make you pick a new data plan.

with the best buy method you would then need to call verizon and get a pending order removed so you can do it on the other line.

Man this is confising, at least for me. So If I upgrade line 1 and get a iphone and then after its activated switch it to line 2, would I still have a pending order? I should probally just get a cheap 4g phone and put in on line 2 and then just do the best buy method. What do you think? I dont need or want a new phone on line 1 right now. Thanks everyone for the help.

WOOT! Just ordered a iPhone 6 Plus 128GB Gold available for pickup at my local :apple:Apple Store:apple:. I have was able to add a line and pick iPhone Unlimited data.

Now I just have to get out of there when them successfully scanning it and not opening it, correct? I picked the option that it was a gift during checkout. I'm hoping that it helps the matter of them not opening it in store.

I currently have 3 existing UDP LTE devices. I should be able to

1. Not boot new I6 with new sim
2. Insert one of my UDP nano sims into the new I6 and turn on
3. Once booted and working, I should be able to put the sims back to their respective devices

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Finally was able to jump on this train.

Just ordered a 64GB Gold for Pickup at my local store (finally had them in stock!).

Picking it up after work! Will update with any issues...
