no I haven't and I will be mailing my phone back and canceling the line tomorrow

Do you know how ridiculous that sounds?

You could literally GIVE away the data plan. Then sell the phone and make money. You just don't seem to understand logical thinking.

I have tried to do that twice today and both times the person backed out cause they said they would lose there phone number so it may not sound logical to you but I don't think like a scalper and I am done wasting time on it

The Prodigal daughter returns
I don't really have much to offer this thread as I am not able to take advantage of the DesertSilver Method myself :( I did refer a few people over here from SD site b/c they have questions that are better answered over here.

Now if only someone could find a loophole to get the $20 talk & text data discount on my line, I would be in cell phone heaven!!!!!

Did you try over on Slick Deals thread?

Yes they have a $5 limit on trades on SD so I had 2 people send me amazon giftcards and I ended up refunding both of them cause they backed out cause they were worried about losing numbers

Thanks for the info! Glad to know I'm not the only person this happened to. I shipped the phone directly back to Apple, so a store manager isn't an option. I called Verizon and they transferred me to another department, which I suspect was Tier 2 support. I was told to get in touch with Apple and have them initiate the removal process with Verizon. The tech stated he made a notation in my account that I had called in reference to this and also that I have a credit memo receipt that can be provided as proof of return. I'll post another update after getting this sorted in case anyone else can benefit from what I learn.
So, funny, I lived that nightmare just a few days (and nights ago), even down to the "tech making a notation in my account" bit. Yup. That tech told me to call back in 24 hours, and I did - and THAT tech called the Apple Store manager....

I had my proof. The Store Manager told the second tech the device was returned and money refunded. And, I still had to call again to get the line cancelled...

Keep at it. Yes, yes, you're on the merry-go-round...

i meant no disrespect at all. i was literally in the middle of replying, then totally forgot….. but i am really thankful of everyone's help!
Well, fine. Apology accepted. This whole VZW scheming thing has many of us pis..., er ticked off. After reading more about this on Ars Technica earlier today and trying to get a new SIM card from a clueless corporate store rep today - I was kind of pissy today too. My bad. Time for a nap...

My brother wants to join the shared plan from another carrier. He doesn't care about the phone as long as he can get a UDP line. Getting the 6+ would be a nice upgrade for me and I'd give my brother my iphone 5.

You guys are both right. I should just get the line in case the UDP ends...but then again...the market is flooded with people selling them now :p
Dude, you need to get your bro the UDP line NOW.

Crazy - I wonder if the swappa boneyard would be an option?

It says it is for buying and selling all things mobile and there is no listing fee. The only thing you can't list on the swappa boneyard is a phone that should be listed on swappa.

apple.com allowing me to add new iPhone to Verizon account with unlimited

Isn't it for less than adequate phones though ?

----------

I have a 1400 minute Nationwide family plan with 5 lines, all with UDPs. All these lines have the talk txt and data discount.

Call up and have them create a subaccount by moving three lines to the newly created subaccount and then you will be free to add 3 UDP lines from Apple.com BUT you can only order ONE new phone/line at a time. So if you choose store pick up you must go pick if up and than you will be able to order your second phone/UDP line

Yes create the sub account before activating the new phone. I made the mistake of not doing that and I already had 5 lines. Verizon created the sub account for me when the Apple Store rep scanned and activated my phone. It caused me to have a 2gb data plan instead of the unlimited that I had selected when I ordered the phone.
So if you have 5 lines on a Verizon nationwide family share plan, you can simply create a subaccount and the new UDP line from apple will appear in the subaccount automatically?

I feel like my 6 plus is bending by my MIND. I need a new case

Super duper question

It says for all things mobile and people sell damaged phones, parts, accessories. I have never seen a line for sale, but a line is clearly all things mobile.

If swappa doesn't like it, they will tell you I am sure.

Allowed
Mobile related stuff
Mobile parts and accessories
Broken phones and tablets
Flashed phones and feature phones
Mobile wifi devices, such as JetPack and Mi-Fi

Not Allowed
Mobile devices that are eligible for sale in Swappa's primary marketplace are not allowed in the Boneyard
Anything that is stolen or reported stolen
Stuff that isn't related to mobile devices

Oh no no no. No line! I thought you meant his phone

If I had a line to aol, i would try it. If swappa doesn't want you to sell lines there, they will tell you. The rules say all things mobile except for phones that are eligible for listing on swappa. Well a line is as mobile as it gets.

But they mean the tangible side of mobile
