Swappa says what I say ::MEN IN BLACK SHADES::
You are making this up. Swappa will tell you if they have a problem with anyone listing lines on swappa. No where does it say you have to list tangible things on the boneyard. It says "stuff". A line is stuff.

Mama likes what 'JUST WORKS' sorry
The freakin' Mobile Hotspot don't work on mama's iPhone. Works on my unlocked and rooted android just fine.

apple.com allowing me to add new iPhone to Verizon account with unlimited

Nvm LMAO

They got jailbreak for iOS 8 yet? No, well my Nexus will have an unlockable bootloader out of da box.

Mama needs to pay $30 for unlimited hotspot until there is a jailbreak OR utilize any previous iphone she's had until there is a jailbreak available

----------

You can say that about the nexus but you can't say that about certain other android phones ...at least not out of the box. let's just see who's device bricks first...btw

NEVER!!!!

OR utilize any previous iphone she's had until there is a jailbreak available
They have all been sold.

But really, I wouldn't mind jailbreaking her device if there weren't issues with jailbreaking causing problems with the phones being able to be used to make phone calls and random reboots, etc.

You can say that about the nexus but you can't say that about certain other android phones ...at least not out of the box.
Yeah but for those devices, FoxFi works - works on Samsung, HTC and LG. Motorola has a dev ed so you don't need FoxFi and now they will have a GIGANTIC Nexus.

let's just see who's device bricks first...btw
It's virtually impossible to brick a Nexus or a dev ed if you have the factory images. Never bricked one yet and I have done some really, really stupid, impulsive flashing.

Virtually = almost. so it's possible to brick it even remotely. You can't brick an Apple Genius machine.

I will get back to you about the compatibility of foxfi on htc and lg phones once they are officially stated on their site as being useable . Thanks for playing the name game!!

AND FINALLY are you saying that rooting etc won't cause any issues with phones or have never? Please clarify this

I believe you would have to attempt to overwrite the bootloader partition with non-bootloader code.

You can't brick an Apple Genius machine.
I would have to research that more to know for sure, but the reason you can brick an android at all is b/c you have so much freedom to flash stuff to the phone. I like the freedom of android.

I don't have any of those phones but others widely report that FoxFi works on every Verizon flagship except the Moto X and there is a dev ed for the Moto X. And even if you don't have a Dev Ed, there is the Sunshine unlock or you can buy the unlock codes directly from china.

AND FINALLY are you saying that rooting etc won't cause any issues with phones or have never? Please clarify this
Rooting itself with an unlocked bootloader? No, rooting itself never causes issues if your bootloader is unlocked. What causes issues is AFTER you are rooted what you attempt to do. But if you simply read before you flash, you are good.

1. All you had to say is that you agree with me that it is possible to brick it because that's essentially what you just said right there

2. Freedom? So a person isn't free to jailbreak their iphone much the same as a user is free to root and rom etc etc their android device? I mean after one jailbreaks there is a ton of customization options available to the world

3. Exactly. You mention verizon flagships yet you omitted the other 3

4. Sorry I never meant to imply I was saying rooting itself. I was saying any tinkering done at all once you utilize root ...'simply read before..' Dear lord there must be a ton of illiterate half beings over at xda including ME

Well I have never bricked one but from what I have read, it you try to overwrite the bootloader with code that is not bootloader code, you may be able to do it. As long as you are in warranty, it doesn't matter though b/c you can get a replacement.

But nothing like what you can do with Android. My GNex, the devs are still writing ROMs for it and have now unbelievably written new drivers for it so that it works like any of the other flagships on kitkat and it is 3 years old.

3. Exactly. You mention verizon flagships yet you omitted the other 3
What other 3 - Foxfil works on HTC, Samsung and LG flagships.

I totally agree, and then there are the nazi mods, lol!

Dumb question....if you do an AOL that was an individual plan on the old nationwide, will you be able to add lines to make it essentially family plan? Will all the minutes and texting plans be the same too?

Yes - that it is the beauty of AOLing a UDP line - you can then turn it into your own UDP line factory.

But there is no 450 minute family plan. Minimum minutes is 700 on family plan.

That's what I did in 2011/2/3 - bought UL data lines, assimilating them into accounts. I have one Nationwide account that has a 5-line "family" plan and 5 individual lines - 5 employees on one project, with F&F (which may not be available to anyone if they're not signed up for it already) - it's like UL minutes for a fraction of the cost.

I have one NW account where I had one line in the account, then AOLed 2 more lines and created a family plan - then added an Apple.com line - all using the same number of minutes. Two of these lines are in iPads - UL data for the iPad and free mobile hotspot for them. And I got a new iPhone 6 128GB at a subsidized price. Nice!

I see, so you'll have to go to the next tier to add a line then. But you can change the plan features on the lines you add if you want..is that right?

Hey all. I posted here previously about my unsuccessful ship-to-home order on 9-19-14, subsequent shipped return to Apple 5 days later, followed with a successful store pick-up for another line on 9-27-14.

Everything has been going smoothly with my account until today.

I logged into My Verizon and the new line (with unlimited data) for the unactivated phone I shipped back to Apple two weeks ago showed up in my account for the first time with a contract end date of 2 years from today (10-8-16). It had not shown up prior to today.

I know Apple received the phone because my credit card has been credited back and I also received a credit memo receipt from Apple showing receipt of the device.

Has anyone else had this occur? Suggestions on how to proceed?

fascinating. i'm guessing that the way the ship to home activation works is time based instead of scan-based which is what happens in stores.

big problem if apple ships your phone early.

Can't you just stick a UDP onto a verizon ipad can call it a day?
