After tiring of waiting for local stock, I used Best Buy to upgrade one line and then Apple.com to add a line with UL data as I did last week. There's been a change to the flow of the Apple.com ordering process...

After choosing what I wanted for the account and entering in my credentials, Apple's site gave me one option for a plan to add to - the Nationwide 700 Talk/Text Family plan others have mentioned above, which is different than last week (and earlier this week when I almost pulled the trigger). The account I wanted to add to has a 1400 Nationwide plan, with 4 lines. I clicked through on a second run - I closed the first session and cleared out all of the caches/cookies, then tried again.

Maybe picking nits here, but the change was enough for me to comment here. Now it's waiting time for the ship-to-home order from Apple, and I'll cancel the order if I can find a local option.

Yes it's been noted here already, but the unlimited option is still given

Mark, question re adding a line to a family plan,,,,

My line is an UDP month to month with an upgrade available. Wife's is a 2 gb line no upgrade. If I add a new line and pick the Apple UDP, and port over the wife's phone number onto the new UDP, what happens to the 2 gb wife's line?

She is still on contract til this time next yr.

thanks.
You can't get out of the contract on your wife's line w/o paying the etf. But you can make the etf less painful on your wife's line by putting a basic phone on it before you cancel it.

Very real risks so face to face cash is the best way. If you're not a feebay powerseller you'll get hit 15% between fleabay (10%) and paypile (5%) with a 180 day charge back risk

The buyer could literally smash the phone (by accident or on purpose) 4 months into owning it and still do a charge back
But they won't win the charge back if you fulfill paypal's seller protection criteria - sell only to confirmed addresses and ship signature required.

When I sell, I ship with full insurance which comes with signature required and tell the buyer that they have to notify me within 1 week of signing for the package if the item was damaged. This is all documented in writing. Then I email them asking for a response if they have not responded within 1 week and tell them I have to make an insurance claim if the item is not functioning. I always have received a response. YMMV.

Just wanted to share my experience. I finally was able to order a phone for pickup. I went today but weren't able to pick it up because my billing address was different from my drivers license. According to apple rep, there is a lot of fraud going on with Verizon recently that verizon has been clamping down and making sure everything checks out. I recently moved so my id didn't match. I have to change my address back to the old one to pick it up. Seems like Verizon has noticed all of the UDP being sold. Just though I share. This was in NYC btw.

You can bring a utility bill to prove your address as well

If they fund paypal with a credit card they can initiate a chargeback FOR ANY REASON (<-- critical wording from the credit card companies) for a 180 day period totally separate from paypal and ebay. Paypal will never lose money for any reason either the seller or the buyer will take the loss and it's shocking what paypal will do to people (often the seller because they're funds are easier to attach than a buyer who absconds ie empties his / her accounts) Just proving receipt doesn't prevent a chargeback. I've been smoked by paypal 3 times since 1997 two of those times I paid a seller who never shipped and got back $11 (yes $11) on items I paid $1500 plus for. Once a buyer got me for $2500 on a chargeback 3 months after the sale but I learned a lesson. www.paypalsucks.com will curl your hair. "Seller protection" is simply two words that sound good but mean nothing to paypal :) I've also met thousands of super honest people but paypal and ebay are not among them!

Couldn't a seller empty his/her account as well ?

I do not accept credit cards. I accept paypal. The credit card company gets their money back from paypal, not me. Paypal is the one who accepts credit cards.

I do not have a contract with the credit card companies so they have no legal recourse against me.

but if you had paid with your cc, you would have gotten all of the money back from your CC. Obviously you didn't. Never buy anything from paypal unless you use a cc.

Once a buyer got me for $2500 on a chargeback 3 months after the sale
AGAIN, if you follow the rules of the paypal seller protection, you are good. Confirmed shipping address, signature required. Then deplete all funds from your paypal account very quickly.

The CC companies do have recourse with paypal and paypal has recourse with you read the paypal user agreement

True sort of I used a paypal credit card I should have used a card outside of paypal

If you're wanting to remain as a seller or maintain a paypal business account your bank account and credit card(s) are usually attached

Many people believe they are protected just as you do I was one of them as well :)

I have and I read it with very, very, very experienced and knowledgeable eyes.

Paylpal has a seller protection program and I abide by it. Read the seller protection provisions.

But if you abide by the seller protection program, they are not.

And if paypal tried any funny business, they will have to send lawyers to small claims court to do battle with me. And don't think for one minute any lawyer who goes in house is a good lawyer, they are not. And the price for 1 hour of time for paypal to consult with a decent out of house attorney would exceed the amount of money they would be out from a cc dispute. Remember, as I said, I create quite the paper trail. And I have no problem with hauling paypal's ass to court, which would cost them more for an attorney to review than it would be worth fighting me over.

Many people believe they are protected just as you do I was one of them as well :)
Did you create an ironclad paper trail? Did you file against paypal in small claims court?

Call VZW Customer Service (611 form your cell). Tell them you want to convert your single line Nationwide to a Family Share 700 Nationwide, and I repeated probably 10 times throughout the process that I want to make sure I don't loose my unlimited data. Took the rep about 2 minutes. Once its complete, you should be able to go to apple.com, add a line and see the unlimited data option.

The plan is $80 plus $10 for the primary and $29.99 for my UDP, so in total right now I am paying $120 for my one line, prior to adding any additional UDP lines.
worked perfectly, very easy. thank you!!

.......ok

They all get cancelled.

Are they getting cancelled because you've reached the limit? Mine kept getting cancelled too but that's bc I reached the household limit of 10. I've now moved on to iPhone 5s's! Still making some good money!

I've done mostly 5s. I don't know what limit I've reached, but apple is good at enforcing it!!!

I've been trying to get 5S as well with the 6s hard to come by. I've yet to find any at my local Apple store. Guess it's time to move to 5C since no shipment of 6s the last few days.
