The big question here it s what happens if we just pop another sim in there ? the phone should work no problem correct..... True we would not have another line with unlimited... But we would have the phone??

If you pop another sim in there, you still need to get through an activation page. That activation is tied to the original line you used to upgrade the phone. I am still trying to figure a way around it.

I even popped in a T-mobile sim into a Verizon phone, and it still showed the verizon number used to upgrade the phone.

Yes store pickup. Currently had two UDP lines and then added one unlimited iPhone. In store they ask if you need help setting it up, if you don't they hand you the phone in the box and you do it yourself.

So you had them open the box and then switch the sims ??? Just to be clear you ordered it for store pick up and went in and it went through fine on their handheld device?

----------

Let us know how it goes

No go. Moved sim from iPhone 5 to iPhone 6. iPhone 6 now works but new line won't active on iPhone 5 either. Just says iPhone not activated. Contact your carrier at blah blah blah.

I was at the Apple store today and they said they was having trouble activating any Verizon iPhone due to the hit on their servers. I am going to hold out for a couple of days to see if it clears up.

Setting it up. Okay. But they couldn't even get up to that part using their system when they scanned it and asked for drivers license etc and then they got error messages on their end and on Verizon's end. Ugh

This is becoming more of a hassle to even bother with smh

We may have A few scenarios playing out here there are people that Adaline like I did and there are people that upgraded a line I wonder if there's a difference

I really don't think there is a difference. I think it is that they are overloaded. I have experienced this with every iPhone upgrade for the past few years.

This is for adding a line. Not upgrading a line.

From my talking to Verizon, there isn't a difference as far as hitting their servers. I'm on hold now with them to see if they can get me more info. They was quick to tell me that I should just be patient due to the amount of activations. I think this is the case.

Hope so ...

It did take 10-15 minutes to activate but it absolutely did. I can't believe it has only worked for me so far.

Hi,

Did you have to use sim converter to use between the 2 devices or did your old phone also use Nano sim ?

Definitely not an option anymore, tried to add line and replace line. Neither option showed a choice for unlimited data.

Upgrading an unlimited data line and using the old sim isn't working for you? Thought it should activate just fine?

JulesJam on slickdeals linked to your post (http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=70574682&postcount=5191), and they're following that thread you posted in on Android Central as well. I didn't know if you were aware.

I've been waiting for this day, almost pulled the trigger on an iP6 today at a nearby VZW store. Following each of these threads before breaking out my card this weekend. Good luck!

Doesn't seem that anyone responded to his posting yet

Her - just saying. She's pretty much turned into the moderator of that thread as it evolves - it just exploded when the iPhone 6 was announced/came out. I'm weighing my options as I have 3 UL data plans, so I'm surfing between the threads. It doesn't help that I have a VZW corporate store (with iPhone 6 handsets in stock - went there today), a Best Buy, AND a Staples here on my island, with an Apple Store 4 miles from here. The VZW store and Staples had nobody in line - at all. Had to pull my credit card out of my wallet before venturing out...

still shows up with the unlimited option on apples website when adding a line, just checked apples website....

damn! I'm really frustrated, i did the sim swap thing with the unlimited line and it said it was activated except it really wasn't when i switched back the sims it said not activated. I called verizon and they activated it but its on a 2gb plan now, they obviously did something on their end and didn't tell me if they just selected a different plan when it clearly was on the unlimited. not sure what to do, its still showing up unlimited on verizons site maybe just return and try the in store pick up...

----------

they told me at first that it wasn't activating because they didn't think i would have gotten the phone this fast from apple, maybe if i had waited and let the system do its own thing

People!! Whatever you do, DO NOT call VZ!!

It's just a sure way of being put on a 2GB data plan. Not to mention it's going to ruin it for the rest of us who are patient enough to read through all the threads and know what NOT to do. Geez

Doesn't seem like much work anyway

what are you talking about? no one knows EXACTLY what to do, were all learning this as people run into issues, chill out man I'm pissed i don't need you to add to that anger.

My bad, thanks for sharing what doesn't work anyways. I think I would have waited at least a day given all the traffic with VZ activations today. That might have changed things.

its cool, I'm just super upset, i reordered off of apples site but have to wait 7-10 days to figure anything out

So even if you can't get a new UDP line, it seems that you can at least buy the phone at subsidized price, activate it for use on your old UDP line? Sort of like a free upgrade
