As terrible as the ordering was for me the 11/17-11/24 window is lowkey poetic. Its the exact same window I got for my Macbook pro last year LOL.

So the issue is AT&T via the Apple Store app. Handshaking issue?
not really sure what you're asking. ordering through Att was much easier than ordering through apple....some like myself ordered through att 10mins after midnight and got the Nov 3rd release day....and when i went through apple to make the same order, i got the dreaded 2-3 week delivery date
 
I went online at 2:30 am at the AT&T site as people said there is a digital queue. At 3 am I got an error message once the store opened. In that time I had the Apple store open in another tab and was able to order my X at 3:05 am for 11.3 delivery.

I wake back up this morning at 6 am and the silver model I ordered is still available via AT&T's site for a 11.3 delivery. Very surprising and in retrospect I could have just gotten up at 6 am but who knew?

Also can I just state once again how horrendous it is to order at 3 am? I really hope Apple will eventually change this at some point. It should be midnight EST and 9 pm PST.

Interesting, I have not gotten anything yet. And when I check on my reservation number, it is still saying that ATT is not working yet, and I will get email.

Really curious if I will get launch day...
I'm in the same boat as you. I have an order number and everything, but no second email yet.

Did you do In-Store Pick Up?
 
Hey, has anyone received an Apple reservation email but no follow up with details on how to order it? This is ridiculous
 
My 256 GB, Space Gray, AT&T is scheduled for delivery on 11/3. The TMo options were a week delayed right from the start: I wish that I'd checked whether in store pickup was available on 11/3 as some have said, but oh well, this works. :)

I started refreshing the Apple Store app on my iPhone, on my iPad, and on the Apple website on my Mac, around 5 minutes before 2 am Central. The preorder page came up first on my iPhone (it never came up on my iPad, even well after I was done: I wanted to see if it would, but nope, it stayed on the "we'll be back soon" page). Anyway, I got the confirmation email at 2:08 am. Now, we wait...fun!

It does SUCK! The EST time zone difference makes ordering painful! Especially if you're already sleep deprived!! They should give the EST timezone folks some bonus points!! :mad::mad::mad::mad:
 
I ordered mine through Apple at 8:13AM and it's saying a delivery of December 11- December 18!!!

Thoughts on ordering through Apple? Seemed to be a decent deal for like $8 more per month you get AppleCare and the ability to upgrade every year.
 
After opening and closing the Apple App 500 times. I ordered my phone around 3:06 AM EST, got Nov. 3 delivery via Apple App (had IUP pre-approval completed).

Next, I tried to order my wife's phone, needing to enroll in IUP first, and all hell broke loose. I ultimately was blocked for 60 minutes.

After 60 minutes (4:24 AM EST) I was able to order the phone for her. Got 12/11 estimated delivery.


Also, for those who need to exchange the old IUP phone, is there an option somewhere to have Apple mail us the box to return the phone? There were no instructions on how to do the mailing exchange.
 
its weird that I got 2 emails from citizens one for the loan.

1st email at 1:21 AM PST says my application does not match credit report.

2nd email at 3:01 AM PST says my loan got approved.

I have no problem with credit so that 1st email got me worried a little bit. Anybody else have this happen to do them? They said it was a worldwide mistake and that everything should be good.
 
Got into the system at 3:02 am ET. Order Space Gray 256GB. Upgrading from 7+. Delivery Nov 3rd.

I'm thinking TMO units are only store pickup for Nov 3 delivery. Shipping on TMO units immediately showed Nov 10.
I couldn't even get an in store pick up option for the Dallas Metro. My order email came thru at :07
I live in Dallas and got in at :04. Selected T-Mo and was offered Nov 10-17 delivery or Nov 3 pickup at NorthPark. I froze for about 30 seconds before I came to my senses and selected store pickup.
 
Not sure how people get in so early. The last few models I've ordered using the app I never get in until atleast 10+ minutes after the slated release. I started closing/opening the app well before 12:00. Ended up getting through around 12:10 but had to repeatedly keep trying to verify my account to AT&T, continuing the checkout, and complete my order via Apple Pay. Nov 17-24.

Same thing every year, I think I'm going back to orderering through AT&T next year since I always used to be able to get release day phones.
My method is to have 2 iPads and 2 iPhones ready with the Apple Store app. I noticed a while back that one device will open to the store faster then the others. I keep 2 on WiFi and 2 on LTE. It maybe over kill but it works every time.

Back with the Silver 256, ordered :07ish via the app, IUP pre-approved, now moved to processing. Still Nov 17-24.

I was all prepared to order mine. I asked my husband during the day yesterday if he wanted to order one for himself and he told me he didn't think he wanted to right now.

So I woke up 15 min before preorder started. Took a couple panicky minutes to get the App store to open. I had saved a couple favorites. The grey and the silver. I just chose the first favorite that popped up which happened to be the grey. I'm a rose gold girl so I really didn't care what color I got since there aren't Rose Golds.

After my order went through my husband decided he wanted to pre order and he knew it was too late to get launch date. Wow every damn site had crashed. Couldn't get into the app store, apple.com, att...nothing. Finally got into the App store and every time I would try to go to the next step, it would error. But eventually we got it and his was only 2-3 week delay on shipping. I really thought it would be December before he would get one.

I noticed someone on twitter mention that they flipped over to cellular instead of WiFi to get in. Which one got in first for you?
 
Mine definitely got charged the tax amount (I can see it in my credit card app and it's not a pre-authorization) and is in the status order in progress.

Me too. You get charged for the tax inmediatly and first payment for the loan or total amount when it ships.
 
Anybody on the IUP (Verizon, if it matters) have any luck updating shipping information via the web chat, without the shipping date shifting?

I have launch date shipping, but am nervous about changing any info at this point in case I get bumped down the line. Really don't want to wait until December.
