Has anyone order from Apple in past and had shipping date move up, and get phone sooner that first stated? I have always ordered thru At&T and hate their order tracking so decided to go thru Apple directly, ordered a silver 256 and a silver 64 @3:05est and both have 11/17-11/24 dates
well, apple had my old credit card on file (even though I went through apple pay with my new credit card) and the payment failed. i woke up to that email freaking out. updated my credit card info, and everything was fine. still have launch day delivery.
so if my payment can fail, i can update my credit card and still retain launch day... i would assume you can change address and still retain the same date. but you might want to double check with apple first?
I tried to update my shipping address (IUP - Verizon too) and they said they couldn't change it because the loan was approved for the shipping address provided and I would have to cancel and re order to change shipping. That seems like a huge issue having shipping addresses completely locked. If you get in contact with them let me know what they say.
That was a major issue. It made it feel like a typical unprepared pre-order from years past. Apple's app was flawless this year, except on the step where it had to reach out AT&T. This step failed, repeatedly, for 10 minutes (for me). Finally got a request through, and lost my launch day delivery.
I ordered the 7Plus last year and got 1-2 weeks shipping and actually got it 4 days after launch. Original ship date was I think the 28th ended up getting it the 20th.
Yep, I'm in the same boat. Annoyed.
UPDATE: no email, but my order is now in process according to the apple website.

Oh, wow. I got lucky then.
I just wish Apple emailed me about an order confirmation. My Order Status page already says "Order In Progress," but still no order confirmation email.
Woke up at 2:45 AM EST. By the time it was 3:01, both the App and Website for Apple were down so I kept closing and reopening the app on my iPad and iPhone until it finally went live on my iPhone (on LTE, not WiFi). App went live at around 3:06AM and I had my first 64GB Silver with November 3rd Pick up at Store. Then I went in for a second phone at around 3:09 and also got a November 3rd Date.

While I was ordering my second phone, Apple was unable to contact ATT so they reserved a phone for me, however, I tried again and it worked fine. November 3rd.
Really? How did that happen? I have a reservation number but I wasn't even allowed to make an order
Could you see your order previously? I have nothing. Just a reservation number email and that’s it. Nothing has ever appeared in my orders.
I did mine through the Apple Store app and had to authorize with ATT. It went smooth as butter. Maybe it was because I was on the actual phone I’m upgrading so all the info was pre-filled?
Yeah, I was able to see my Order Status moments after pre-ordering.

Same here. I don't know what happened with AT&T but they seriously dropped the ball. This is very disappointing.

Store was down from 7:45 to 8:15.. Was spamming F5 and ctrl F5 every minute. I ended up with a NOV 13-20 delivery date. Somewhat disappointed seeing that the store was functional for others here in the UK but it kept showing as down for me for a good 15-20 mins into the supposed launch.

App store was definitely lagging I finished my pre-order on web and checked and app store was still stuck. Sucks for those people who thought that was the faster way.

The same happened to me this morning but now it's showing up in my orders so give it a couple hours and as long as you got a confirmation email I think you should be fine.

Apple's good with giving you th date they say
They're even on the conservative side and sometimes ship sooner with ones that are weeks out. It's like a guarantee effectively it's coming bybthat date at the latest for the backordered orders
Except for my situation, I didn't pay for anything. I just got a reservation number with no guarantee of delivery
This was after getting a "reservation" message and not being able to move through the pre-order process. Freaked me out but EXTREMELY satisfied that it resulted in Apple holding my spot and my order being set for launch day!!
