I don’t know that anyone here can confirm that, but it does seem to be the case. I did hear one case where someone showed 11/3 on the order page but showed 10-17 on the confirmation email.
I could’ve easily ordered an AT&T with a 7/3 20 minutes after I ordered my Tmo with a 10-17.
Since the phones are the same apart from the SIM, I think there is good reason to think we might get pushed up to 11/3.

I'd say there's actually a better than 50% change it will come early from my experience. I've had two different times that I had a non-launch day delivery date and both times I got it earlier. With my iPhone 6+ I was supposed to get it the Tuesday after launch and got it on launch day and on my iPhone 7+ I got it like 10 days earlier than their earliest estimated delivery day.
Not completely true.
I had issue with carrier connectivity and apple gave me a reservation number and held my spot in line.
Completed order later and still have Nov 3rd shipping.
I preordered the Sprint 256GB in Silver and received a email confirmation at 12:55pm. The expected delivery date is Dec. 11th - Dec. 18th. Although I would prefer to get my phone sooner than later, I don't mind the wait as long as it doesn't get pushed back any further. I am only upgrading from my current phone (an iPhone 5s) because I'm close to running out of space and I've experienced a few other problems that have caused me some inconveniences. As long as it works until I get the new phone, I'm fine.
Same for me. It seems that no one has 11/3 with tmo ordering from apple store.
I hope first orders will get to us sooner.
I did 2 orders also. One with my carrier T-Mobile with dates of 11/2-11/3 and Apple with dates of 11/17-11/24. I’m hoping the T-Mobile order ship first since I signed up with a promo to have a $12.50 credit every month.
Nope. Appears tmo is nov 10 -17 at the earliest. Weird. It’s like they sent tmobile all tmo iPhones.
SAME EXACT ISSUE! I don't know anyone who order in the apple store a Verizon 64GB Silver for 11/3!

I usually get in my order fast and get mine close to the actual launch date. But this time I ordered iPhone X 256 GB silver and chose the wrong payment method since. I was in a hurry but went with the Apple phone each year program but they could not verify something and it locked up. Said give a few hours and I thought WTF, a few hours and they will all be sold out. So I went in again this time it went from 11/3-11-10 all the way to 11-24 and got a little mad ...waited a few minutes then said screw It I will go ahead and order it anyway. But in waiting my estimated date now went from 11-24. All the way to 12-11-12-18 so it’s now a Christmas present for me. I really had a hard time getting in this year. So I have 6 weeks or more to wait, bummer.

I couldn’t get in ? For IUP and most orders Apple recommended Apple Store App
My Password, payment, pin, address information was wrong. Pre Authorization is your friend, you had a month
Couldn’t get early ship date ? Allocating two sizes, two colors, 4 carriers, store pickup might be better
T-Mobile delay ? Carriers Run Good Bettter Best, a lot needs to be done in their stores
Carriers servers can not verify ? backend issues at least Apple held your place in line
Couldn’t pay ? No debit cards allowed on IUP
Ordered got angry then cancelled ? Adds delays for those that really wanted the product while waiting for reallocation
Got one angry because couldn’t get two or more ? Maybe after the first you should go to the end of the line
I’ve participated every year for launch day events
Far from perfect but each year even for most carriers it’s been getting better
