I don't know how that switching SIM card thing is going work but the line is the only thing with the upgrade not the whole account. But the whole "lease" thing might have different terms. Usually when you have more than one line on the account the upgrade is just to that line not the entire account.

Hope that helps
Well then yes I'm still worried about that one line. If they are still leasing, does it matter that I "upgraded" the line since the phone was paid in full/paid off(the iPhone x i bought, not their phone.) its not really an upgrade is what I'm thinking. I own the phone outright so even if I need to put the last 4 of the social into the phone when it arrives, I can immediately do what i want with the phone(sell it, take it to verizon, whatever cause I own it) then the line I used to upgrade would continue on just the same with their current iPhone lease, with that phone still activated with their number and when they're done paying, they can upgrade as usual, like I never even interfered, right?

I thought you can't use Sprint phones on Verizon unless they are unlocked first.... Really an odd way to get a phone, esp if you were paying full price anyway?
I know its an odd way, its because of family issues to say the least lol. The way the 2 reps and apples website puts it, is if you do the one time payment method you get "Unlocked iPhone with Sprint SIM" so the phone isn't locked to Sprint, theres only 2 versions of the iPhone x: GSM only(ATT &T-Mobile) or GSM+CDMA(All/any carrier). The way I read that is that you get an unlocked iPhone with a sprint sim inside so you CAN activate with Sprint. If its indeed locked to sprint, then I need to cancel the order.

HECK YES! My Verizon order on the IUP just moved up to November 3rd!!!

Again in theory they should be fine and I wouldn't get to hung up on the word "upgrade" when adding a line to an existing account. What i more worried about for you is changing a Sprint SIM card to Verizon. Almost positive you won't be able to do that unless it's an unlocked phone. But like a said before the "upgrade" line should only effect your line on that account and no one elses

Quite a shocking development for my T-Mobile order a few minutes ago... Refreshed the order page and voila... Delivery date changed from Nov 10 - Nov 17 and is now showing Delivers Nov 3rd!!! :D
This has been without a doubt my best pre-order experience with Apple so far!

P.S. Ordered @ 00:05. iPhone X 256GB Silver

So I couldn't get into the Apple App/website till at earliest 3:10am EST. That forced me to look at the Verizon website which I ended up getting a Silver 256GB for Nov 3 buying it outright. I received the Apple Reservation email to sign up for their IUP, but that phone delivers Nov 17. Would it be a problem to return the Verizon bought iPhone closer to the 14 days, hoping the IUP phone comes in earlier? Maybe sell the Verizon on ebay?

I am not adding a line, I used the cell phone number of my friend who is not upgrading and still needs their current number on their current phone. I used his specific line just to get the device. Thats what I'm worried about. Ill deal with the SIM swap part and if anything return the phone if ultimately i can't, but it did say an unlocked iPhone when i checked out.

I’m so glad my shipping date got changed. I was literally done ordering at 3:03 AM. I was so suprised that people who ordered after me were getting theirs before me. I was originally Nov 10-17.
Ditto. But I’m guessing you had tmobile? I figured there was either a major fail on someone’s part (barely any T-Mobile phones available) or a mistake in the eta
