Mine says it will be delivered 3rd of november, but nothing has been shipped yet. And I live in Norway, thats a long from China. I wonder if I'll actually get it by the 3rd, doesn't seem likely to me.

Chances are the western states, there will be a flight from Louisville to Ontario, CA - we've also seen UPS send flights directly to Ontario, CA from Anchorage on occasion (if they have enough cargo intended for that distribution centre to justify an entire flight).
It varies as to whether your order will go via Worldport to get to the west coast but for major bulk shipments there are direct flights from ANC. UPS 59 left today from Hong Kong and will stop in ANC for fuel and then head directly to Ontario, CA (ONT).

If Apple says you're getting it on the 3rd, then you are.

It's possible your phone is already in a distribution centre in Europe. Foxconn's been producing devices for weeks....we know there's already been european shipments because of an article previously posted on MR.

I don't have the scan on UPS choice but I called UPS and the operator told me it had landed in Kentucky last night. She said the scanning is behind and the full tracking info has not been updated on their websites yet because of the volume

Are people really that impatient that they called up UPS about your phone? You can clearly see the plane has landed yet some find the need to bug UPS. If your scheduled to get it on Nov 3 than relax. Especially if it's already located in the US.

If you think about it, they could hold off moving these phones until friday at dawn.... if they really wanted to. There are at least 3 UPS flights from the world port to the sunport between now and then... maybe they are just holding off so they don’t spend so much time at a regional office where things could happen to them... or they could be delivered early by mistake.

While I've had that happen on a prior iPhone release it was because of extenuating circumstances. When you consider it has to fly back to Ontario, CA (in my case) then be trucked to the local distribution center then loaded onto a truck by 6:30 or so? That's cutting it awfully close.

Tell me about it my phone is still in China. You don’t see me calling ups asking them wtf is still there. Then people are already trying to see what flight their phones are going on when they probably won’t even leave until Thursday when the rest of the phones actually get into the USA..

I’ve had products from Apple get to my house from China in about a day. Apple says Friday it will be Friday. While it’s fun tracking flights and stuff don’t be stressing because you aren’t seeing it departing as specific times. We can have an idea about which planes are which but UPS does ship more than just iPhones.

I don't understand why people are so skeptical about Apple's promised delivery date. If they say it will be there on 11/3, why does "official" tracking even matter? Once the phones are stateside, statuses will begin to change as devices begin to ship individually from WorldPort, and Apple will also provide you with your tracking number at that point in time.

Furthermore... if they do NOT arrive on the scheduled date, they're just not arriving. Period. They will, however, arrive sometime shortly afterward. No amount of harassing Apple or UPS will make them get to your house if they're nowhere near your house.

I totally get the stuff with guessing flights. It's fun. But, harassing folks is odd. What good will it do?

If you're talking about the shipping status on the order, those will not be updated until tomorrow and sometimes not until Friday for launch day deliveries.

Correct. It's been a while since Apple used to update these to Shipped this far out. I think they're trying to shield against people being too upset if they do miss a delivery on launch day.

Good morning everyone,

So I spoke with my friend at UPS in Louisville again this morning to get some more info for the upcoming flights. I skimmed through pretty much everything I missed last night. So hopefully this will answer some of those questions.

For those of us on flight NCR628. Yes, as we know it landed last night. They are planning on running it through the Second Day sort, so we should start seeing scans later this morning or this afternoon. Second Day sort is done midday where Next Day air sort is done overnight. So even if your plane gets to SDF as late as 1am EST and you are expecting a 11/3 delivery it should make it, barring anything really unusual.

For everyone else coming out of ZZ. The flights now as you have seen already are not all going straight from CGO - ANC - SDF like we saw yesterday. Some are going through HKG and others will be going through ICN. All will go through ANC then onto other destinations.

This is something that has incredible buzz inside UPS as well. Even in her words this is a "Big big shipment." She also said "And yes it seems all on plan… they will work really hard to make sure it does!" When I was asking her about Friday.

If I hear anything else I will be sure to let you guys know.

So for now, keep an eye out for planes going to Hong Kong (HKG) and Seoul (ICN).

I have a question regarding UPS. My phone s/b delivered Friday, but no one will be here. I am not seeing an option on my ups to presign. Does UPS allow this option to presign like FEDEX does?

On UPS MyChoice, my Friday, November 03 entry for my iPhone X lists as:

From: FOXCONN HONGFUJIN PRECISION
(Tracking Number)
In Transit
Date Tentative

That last part, "Date Tentative" is new to me. I've never seen it on a previous order.

When I go to the actual entry to read it, it says it's on time, though. Odd.

wait i'm so confused - why did our phones go to hong kong? is this normal?
Yes.

It is logistics. You would be surprised if you could see the path some of my merchandise from Apple has taken from China. It never seems to be the direct path, but it always was on time.

Even early on one launch day :)

Oh and yes, those that said it before are right. If you live near Louisville, your phone will be trucked to a sort center near you. If you live further away, it will be flown either directly to your city or to a regional sort center then trucked to you.

Like for me in New Orleans, 2 Day air stuff usually gets flown to Jackson, MS then trucked here. Overnight stuff gets flown straight to New Orleans.

That's a new one. Has anyone ever seen this before?

Think some of people phones could be in UPS63?

It says "Date Tentative" because it hasn't even officially "Shipped" yet and you're not even supposed to see that status page yet.

If you're expecting launch day delivery from Apple... then relax. It'll be there. Some of the people in here borderline obsessive compulsive. I understand if you have a further out date and you see tracking movement wanting to ask questions and whatnot... but for launch deliveries the people freaking out that it might not get there in time is just crazy talk.
