How long were people in preparing to ship before it shipped?

I ordered very late, launch day. 256gb Space Grey Plus. It switched to Preparing to Ship Saturday morning around 7am. And been there ever since. Says delivery date 26-28th. Do I have a chance of getting one Tuesday the 26th?

So this happened today. Woke up and decided I would rather an 8 plus. Walked right into my Apple store. Bout 15 minutes later I had my new phone. They had plenty in stock when I went. They did have a bit of a line. But were checking ppl in with their iPads before they opened. I’m totally satisfied with it.

Anyone here buy the 8 or 8 plus (Verizon) with the Pay in full (One time-payment) option? Were you charged an upgrade fee from Verizon?

3 days for me waiting in the "Preparing to Ship" state.

I assume this is normal because it is the weekend? I got a FedEx tracking number from Apple - yesterday - but it still shows this today still:

Yea, typically around Monday early morning you will see "Shipping Label Created". They don't typically do them on weekends for Apple.

Awww I see! I just got my tracking a few minutes ago, hopefully they go out tomorrow and we get them Tuesday since it’s next day shipping

Does your say Fed Ex Ground like mine? For the entire order until shipping it would say: "By Next Day Shipping" but when I finally got a Fed Ex tracking number it says Ground.

I purchased a full retail, and it said I will be charged the 30.00 upgrade fee. Verizon started adding the fee even on full retail purchases a few months or more back. I just messaged them on Twitter asking if they'd waive it, and they told me when my bill generates on October 2, to let them know and they will. It seems stupid to charge an upgrade fee if we're paying full price, and the device comes with a SIM, and in the end *they* aren't really doing anything to assist you with getting it working (yeah they say the 30.00 covers whatever costs are associated with adding a device, etc. but I don't buy it).

Yep, Mine changed to shipped yesterday but today still says info not available. I'm told this is because of the weekend. So yeah, looks like we're getting ours on Tuesday. Would love for Monday but... whatever .

They are fine. Although I haven’t tried to really do much with it. Once I drain my phone down all the way. I can really see how long it takes to fully charge.

Mine does, fwiw. Says “Next day shipping” on Apple, and “FedEx Ground” on FedEx.com

Actually I purchased a cheap one from Amazon and it works pretty well. Honestly I will throw my phone on it at night to charge my phone overnight so I am not really worried about the speed of charging. Nonetheless I noticed that my phone went from 23% to 41% in about 30 minutes, so it's not going to set any records. LOL

I’m wondering how the trade in works. I’m paranoid a bit now because I’m wondering if Verizon will not void the remainder of my device payment plan since I didn’t get the iPhone 8 from them. But I would think it doesn’t matter.

Just curious if anyone has any advice that’s been through this already.

Actually I felt the phone, charging base and power adapter and they were only slightly warm, so I really have no concern about this. I did this after about 1 hour of charging when I thought about it and wondered about the heat myself. The one I purchased claims to have intelligent charging to prevent over-heating, over-current and over-charging. It also has 3 charging coils. I am using a 2 amp adaptor.

You’re almost certainly better off buying the 8 through IUP, then paying off whatever you have through verizon and just selling it. You’ll make out the same or better and won’t have to worry about it.

Wireless charging is so weird in a cool way. It’s odd to set it down and hear the charging beep. It’s good that it does that or else you’d probably have no idea it was charging. Lol

We bought the Samsung fast charging wireless chargers.

Any QI charger will work?
