Time to finally upgrade my 2011 Lumia phone!
My choices are basically two: iPhone 8+ or iPhoneX.

- Whichever iPhone I am going to buy, I will buy it from Toronto, Canada. I am interested in a carrier free, unlocked iPhone in order to be able to use it with a Greek sim exclusively. Should I just go ahead and buy a regular iPhone from the shelf or should I ask for a particular model?
- iPhone X: Can i pre-order it and pick it up from an Apple store or pre-orders concerns only home deliveries? Moreover, when they mention "available on 3rd of November", I suppose that you have to stand on the usual waiting line outside an Apple Store in order to get it?
As far as I understand you won’t be able to preorder an unlocked X where you can get an IPhone 8 or 8+ unlocked by buying the phone outright “keep me honest fellas on MR”
Since a unlocked X won’t be available until a week or two after launch (then 6+ weeks or more due to inventory) you’d want to find a US carrier based option that would support the Greek SIM network. Look at the older posts you’ll see folks chasing the TMO model due to your exact situation or they go for the Verizon model since it can support allot of options.
Your second question if you preorder and win the X lottery you can do in store pickup and you choose a pickup time avliable and there is two lines so you won’t be there all day online.
So how did the pre approval work previously. I Upgraded my girlfirend's iPhone through the App to the 8 and it was a nice process. So do you basically fill out all the info but it just doesn't complete it, then on the 27th you just hit checkout then fingerprint the Apple Pay button?
He is talking about Canada. I think Apple sells unlocked iPhones from the beginning there.
Yes my friends, I am talking about Canada and not the US. I know that in US you have to go with a specific model if you want carrier unlocked phone.
It’s very simple. All you have to do is choose the ‘replace this phone’ option, then proceed through the selection process for the phone. You’ll then make sure to click the ATT Installment Programs before adding in to your cart. Once you checkout, you’ll be given options for which Next plan and how much money you want to put down. The added ATT Next steps shouldn’t take you more than a few seconds. Good luck!
Is there a way to upgrade another line on my plan using my apple ID on the Apple Store app on my iPhone? I’m not able to edit the Wireless Number on the Carrier Account screen in the app (it’s shaded out - defaults to my wireless number, but Billing Zip Code and Last 4 of SS# are editable).
I can do it via the app on my iPad, but none of the carrier account info is pre-filled, so I have to enter all three pieces of info manually, which takes time. I’m just trying to figure out the fastest way to preorder the X

and @Zaned303 Yep, when you pay full pop, you can get an unlocked phone from Apple (or BestBuy...when they get stock...the Apple Stores and Carriers have priority). We don't have IUP up here (hopefully one day soon).
Carriers in Canada will no longer be able to lock phones and must unlock all prior-sold phones for free as of December 1st this year (but most are removing them now and selling new phones unlocked).

Sounds like Canada is way easier then the states..Out where I live in Colorado it’s going to be a s&$t show for the X. I know people who don’t like IPhones trying to snag them for resale only. I’ve seen that some over the years but no where close to this level However I’m feeling lucky myself I’ve been on fire lately with toy acquisition yay lol god help us all if that’s the new trend doh!-Anyone find some dope IPhone X cases while we wait? I bought the Mophie Juice Pack air and love it I wish the had a X version..so that’s worthless come 11/3 lol

Quick question regarding preordering... I really don´t care whether I have it delivered to my house or select pick-up in store. But what is usually better to select? As in, what is the first thing to usually slip to 2-3 weeks delivery? As an FYI, I live in NJ, so I´d be selecting either the Store from Westfield Garden State Plaza or pretty much any apple store in NYC.
Online delivery slips first pretty fast. Depending on your carrier and if you don't care about color/storage you can reserve one in store somewhat easy.
Was wondering this. Last phone I pre ordered at Apple was the 6s plus for store pick up and that went fairly easy. Of course this is a bigger deal but I’m hoping to get one via store pick up. We have two stores here so hopefully I have some kind of luck.

Quick question. I plan on buying my X outright. My current iPhone 7 is on AT&T Next with enough installments to trade in. After I receive my X I can just walk into the store and hand it in? I’m planning on using the Apple store app. Their options show pay full amount or Next. Essentially do I have to choose the Next option in order to trade in the 7 and be done with those payments?
I’m aware I could pay the 7 off and sell the it but I don’t want the hassle of selling this year. That might change depending on my X’s delivery date though.

Has anyone gone through the pre-approval process for the iPhone X yet? I woke up this morning and tried to do it, but there was no option in my Apple Store app. I contacted Apple and they told me that it should be under the discover tab. I told them that I didn’t see it and they said it must be a problem on my end and that it should correct itself later today. Anyone else having this problem?
Anyone who's going to Pre-Order kindly let us know the estimated time of delivery & the time of order online. So we can compare and understand the time of delivery better for the future buyers
