Got my preapproval done. So now I’m guessing I’ll just click checkout and finger that Apple Pay Button and hopefully have a day one.

When the Apple Store goes down, does anybody remember if you can pull-to-refresh in the app to check if the store is back online? Does it just automatically come back while you're on the closed view? Or do you have to keep restarting the app?
You have to restart the app ! (closing it via multitasking)
Why? As long as you have proof of collection/drop-off, it's Apple's problem if it is lost or damaged in transit, not yours, because you're using a shipping service arranged and provided by Apple.
Apple will typically send out an empty box for you to send with a Fedex shipping label. Always ask for a receipt with tracking when you hand it over to fedex. I use Delivers app and whenever I ship something back, I always save the tracking number apple provides and I always ask for a receipt with tracking. Apple always receives my item without any issues or delays.
Why spend more money when Apple provides a free trade in kit. doesn't make any sense to pay for your own shipping if Apple already provides one for free.
No, you have to close the app entirely from multitasking and relaunch many many times until when you open the app you see that the store is back up and then it’s showtime!

I just pre-ordered both of our phones. Now all I have to do is stay up and complete the orders on Friday night! Hopefully I'll get in.
I was having this issue at first. I just kept entering the information over and over. It eventually worked.
I was able to go through the preapproval process earlier today through the app. But does anyone know what it looks like when we are trying to buy on Friday? Will it pop up in our carts? Or do we still have to go through the process of adding, but skip the approval stuff? I can’t seem to “favorite” the phone either.
I think it was just a credit check for the program....not a preorder.
You are correct JUDY. This is just for financing thru IUP. They just run a credit check. You just pre order as normal
It should show up when you go to order on your iPhone or iPad. At least I hope so. I went through the preorder process and got approved for the 2 phones that I need. I just hope it's not too crazy. I'm probably dreaming though right?
You still have to go through the preorder process you just bypass the credit check (which you did today). This was the hold up for some people before hence the reason for the early credit checks.
I can’t seem to remember, but does anyone know if the shipping Albany and address have to be the same as the information on my provider?
For instance I am on a plan with my mom, even though I pay for it, she is the main account holder. Does the phone have to ship under her name and to her address? I seem to remember having to do that. But I’m not sure

What is this preapproval being talked about? Sorry I've always bought my phones outright in the last few years but this time I may do financing via Verizon.

Yeah I made that mistake with my 6 for UPS pick up. My mom was the account holder at the time and I had to drive to brooklyn to pick up her ID and comeback to my UPS center in NJ to get my phone......lesson learned
