I’m ordering using the option to buy outright. No upgrade, no BS with my carrier. How do I skip that because it seems to not work the last time I tried it. It always asks for the carrier, etc...

I'm in the UK but want to buy the 256GB Space grey iPhone X outright from the USA store with delivery to the MD area. The card is a UK card and the billing address is also in the UK but the shipping address is in MD. Anyone else doing this or anticipate any issues with this ??

In the USA, they won’t sell iPhone X without a carrier until around a month after launch. They do this every year (iPhone 8 is an exception because of low demand). You must have a carrier in the USA for preorder.

Just excited for the pre-sale iPhone X this evening at midnight while waiting in line to buy Super Mario Odyssey, and hopefully watching some Stranger Things 2. Then waking up early Saturday morning for the SD Comic-Con presale tickets. What a fun-filled weekend this is going to be.

I went to Comic Con in Baltimore, MD last month with my family and we had a ball. This is coming from a person not into comics.

I was trying to change the shipping dress but after I do and I go through trying to make an order when I get to the payment screen the address that shows is my previous address which is also the billing address.

Just to confirm - an unlocked T-Mobile iPhone purchased directly through the Apple Store WILL work with AT&T, so long as an AT&T nano-sim is inserted?

I’m an AT&T customer and will be purchasing the phone outright. I’m hoping to skip the AT&T account verification step during the preorder, if possible.

Because right now the system is not letting it to be shipped to a different address than the billing address. I just changed the address for the primary shipping and went through the process ordering the 8 and when I get to the billing screen it has the shipping address as the billing address and it won’t let me edit it!!!!

AT&T customers ordering from Apple will have the address overridden to the primary billing address on the AT&T account instead of whatever billing and shipping address you’ve typed in for the order. An annoying policy that Apple can’t override. That’s why I’m going to aim for store pickup so I don’t get stuck driving to my dad’s house due to our family plan structure.

I bought an iPhone 8 this way and had it delivered to an Apple store in Dallas where it was picked up by someone coming back. Can the same not work for the iPhone x ??

Nope. Read my post. iPhone 8 was an exception. You can’t purchase without selecting a carrier for iPhone X

People on Verizon thread already pre ordered.

The reps at the local stores have giant list going and they are entering in all the preorders in a staging area and they’ll bulk submit “Aledegly” at launch local time. That’s what the Times Square Verizon is pitching and my local Colorado store. I took a pass as that play with pretty much toast out any Verizon preorders based on thier shipment they’ll receive. The called me twice today to confirm I d not want them to do my preorders lol I like to control my own destiny thank you lol

You can order the T-Mobile phone. Although it is GSM only, the phone will be unlocked and you do not need to have or open a T-Mobile account to purchase it through Apple.

There isn’t a Times SQ Verizon store. Are you referring the one at Bryant Park or the authorized Verizon dealer on 8th ave in the 50’s?

I'm an existing IUP and finished the pre-approved qualification - I had to enter my social, bdate, income, etc.

My question - do I need to unfreeze credit? Because of the Equifax hack, I had frozen my credit. If I get pre-approved message from iphone, then I should be good to go?

I had this problem last year as well. ATT would only send to the account holder's addy. But as far as I could see, there was no option to ship to store for store pickup. Not that I could see anyway. Hope this year is different!

As far as I can piece together, this appears to be correct. I'm doing the same thing, and I'm a bit nervous about it since I've seen a few posts that contradict. Hopefully, we won't be stuck with phones that won't work with our AT&T sim.

For first time IUP, they will run a credit check so make sure you put a temporary unfreeze before tonight.

I think I found my answer - basically, if we pass the "check eligibility / pre-approved", then we shouldn't need to worry. However, Apple has the right to request for a credit check if existing customer missed any payment in the past.

Being a AT&T customers... Apple has allocated their inventory of iPhones primarily under the 4 carrier umbrella in the U.S. AT&T gets a portion, T-Mobile get their portion... and so on. By you going the T-Mobile route... leaves an open AT&T spot for me.

On the pc when I go to the Apple store and select the AT&T phone it says it will come unlocked with an AT&T SIM card. I won’t skip the verification step but it seems like they’ll be unlocked if you pay outright unless that little line is wrong.

I never had my credit checked before so what information would they need? A credit card? Or ssn, income, etc.?I’ve never put a freeze on my credit so I should be good right? Is that something I should do after preorder? Sorry for all the questions I’m new to this.
