Apple.com pre-orders: Who's stuck in "Preparing for Shipment"

I am starting to think that my White 16gb 4S is somewhere in the US. I had an Apple reservation at 4am EST and confirmed my order, paid, and had my Apple confirmation email by 8am EST and my phone is still preparing for shipment. (Yes, I have tried the UPS/FED EX tracking by reference and still nothing )

So since "I think" that I was one of the first 100,000-200,000 to order, maybe there is a bulk shipment of Apple phones headed to the US and our individual orders be scanned once it arrives at the secret warehouse.

Is this possible... Or am I delusional????

i ordered the same phone but just an hour after you. it's still preparing for shipment since saturday. however, i did just receive an updated AT&T CSS that shows an upgrade fee and welcomes me to AT&T (although i've long been a customer). Progress?

probably, but I think it's just random orders that will ship from the US as a lot of people myself included are in the same situation that ordered at various times.
 
Where are you iPhone?

Same here. Ordered my 16gb white iPhone 4S. Received my reservation e-mail at 2am. Completed my order at 7am. "Shipment preparing..." since Saturday and still no e-mail from UPS or Apple about shipment. The UPS trick didn't work for me either. :confused:

Got mine around 1pm. Maybe our phones are already in the states?
 
I'm worn out with posting this in every one of the three hundred 'where is my tracking number" or "where is my phone thread" so I will make this my last.

UPS has their main hub in Louisville. About a mile from there is a separate UPS warehouse that deals with nothing but cell phones. This includes processing orders inlcuding throwing the label on and sending them out. I am sure there are other hubs just like that all around the country/world. SO i am sure lots of these phones are sitting in warehouses and UPS or Apple has not 'put the label' on so to speak, so there is no tracking info.

I love MacRumors and consider myself an Apple FanBoy but trying to sort thru these forums around launch time is a PITA. 9 of 10 threads are all about waiting on it and when is it coming. 72 hours people.
 
Mine was shipped from china today... Still says preparing for shipment on the apple website. Showing an era at my house for this Friday... Oh and I ordered it at 1030am est on launch day.....

I ordered my 16GB White Sprint 4S at around 11:00 AM eastern time on the day preorders opened. The phone is still preparing for shipment and the UPS trick doesn't work for me. Also, my card hasn't been charged (but I've been hearing that's normal). Hopefully I'll get tracking info soon!
 
same boat here, im thinking it has to ship by tomorrow for it to make it here friday .
 
Still "Preparing for Shipment" and nothing for "track by reference" for me too, but I'm not sweating it -- there's all kinds of time left.
 
Did anyone else's shipping change from Standard Shipping to Expedited Shipping?

So, I ordered 2 IP4S, ATT, Black, 16G.

The one I got a reservation for, then went back in around 7:00am EST to process, just changed from processing to shipped and shows in China.

My 2nd one, I went through Apple @ 6:45 am, went to shipped Sunday and is in Kentucky already.

It takes a day to get to Alaska, then a day to get to Kentucky, then we wait.

When I contacted Apple today, they must be told not to say a word, cause they just mimicked when I said.

I assume both will be delivered on Friday

Mine is still showing as "preparing for shipment" and I ordered around 7am last Friday. I'm not too worried about it.

I'm sure it's possible some of these phones are already in the US waiting to be shipped, but it seems weird since some people are getting tracking info out of China- which is traditionally the case.
 
I ordered at 12:45 AM Pacific Time. Which was within minutes of Apple going live and mines is still preparing...
