My phone is currently in Alaska as well. Will UPS honor the worldwide express delivery commitment with these? If not, I am planning on sending it to the local UPS retail location for pickup early on the 21st.

Are you asking if you will receive it before the 21st.? Doubt it.

Some people have already called UPS to have them hold it for them. They were told, they would be pushed back to the 24th..

The won"t let you pick up till the next business day, which is the 24th.

I think he's asking if they will honor the worldwide express guarantee of:
"Delivery by 10:30 a.m. or 12:00 noon" found here.

But yes, I agree with you about the 24th. I already tried to hold mine at the local UPS place, and it said the 24th. And then I tried to change it to deliver to a local UPS store instead of my home, so that I don't have to leave work in the middle of the day, and pick it up after work, but again it said it would be the 24th. So I'm going to be pre-signing and F5'ing the tracker all day so that I can race home from work. Thankfully I have a flexible work schedule where I can leave in the middle of the day whenever... lol.

I think the pickup stuff is a bit screwy. UPS offers two pick up options, at a UPS store for $5 or a UPS center (no extra charge). One person reported UPS will not let them pick up before the 21st at a center. UPS said I could pick mine up starting tomorrow at my local center. Weird....

Either option requires UPS My Choice.

Curious about their guarantee as well. UPS was just delivering through my neighborhood.

Sorry, I meant delivery commitment time-wise on the 21st. In the past UPS always delivers in the late afternoon. I wish Apple had gone the FedEx route as those always seem to be delivered by 10am.

I wonder if next business day would still apply if you did a MyChoice retail request ($5) versus a free will call request.

Even with that, there's no way they got all of those iPhones logged that quickly. My new theory is that his iPhone shipped from Korea, so his flight got in before the one that landed at 1:00PM local time.

When the plane lands, all of the shipping containers on board are checked in, and individual package numbers inside that container are linked to the container number. When the container is scanned, all of the packages in that container statuses are updated.

For anyone having any trouble with UPS MyChoice perhaps this will shed some light:

UPS: The shipper can put restrictions to prevent My Choice from being used.

Drew: Ok, will I have any options to pre-sign before delivery though?

UPS: Not from what I can see via My Choice. You can contact the Shipper and see if they can perform a 'Delivery Intercept' for you that will work.

Hopefully Apple will let us pre-sign *fingers crossed*

For everyone who has a phone on the UPS planes heading to Anchorage, AK you can go here to listen to air traffic control talk to the planes as they arrive and land.

My phone is on UPS59 which should be landing within the hour.

That's awesome! Thanks for the link!

I just got off the phone with my local Apple Store. They said they have a "fair amount" of lightning to 30-pin adapters in stock. I'm glad I canceled my order for one!

I couldn't find how you guys are finding out what airplane your phones are on?
anyone?
