Apple.com Preorder Status Thread (merged)

I had the exact same problem( hence my 3 hour ordeal in trying to get through to Apple). Verizon billing address had my full address with the apartment number. Went to Apple.com to preorder and it didn't pull up my apartment number. Went back to Verizon.com, and apartment number was gone. Even after I put it back in, Apple still couldn't pick it up. I decided to order it anyway and call Apple to fix it. Which was eventually done. :)

Alot of people are getting those emails now. Oh please oh please let me get one, I'm holding out hope for it. I ordered within the hour so i feel i have a decent chance at it.

What time did you order F123D?
 
Had a strenuous strenuous workout at the gym, came home and made my dinner and then plopped on the couch with my 2 macbook airs and my iphone 3gs ( sold the 4s two days ago). Turned on my autorefresh widget on both computers, one for att site and one for apple.com and than sat back and relaxed. A grueling 4 minutes later Apple let me in and I tried to order one for me and one for my wife and it was a no go. So I ordered mine, then logged back on and got hers. Email confirmation 9/21 at 9:14 PM HST. Checked at 10pm and item is in processing and will be delivered on 9/21...WOOHOOO Not too bad of a process, and I was in bed a 10:30 for work at 6am.

One benefit of living in Hawaii, but now I have to wake up at 6am on Saturday to watch some damn football...Tradeoffs I guess :)

For some reason Apple dropped my apartment number too (I have AT&T). I just updated my shipping address online at the order status page once my order went to Processing.
 
Anyone have a number that will let you talk to a sales rep without having to talk to a robot first? I really need to get through, and the 1-800-MY-APPLE takes forever, then I just get turned down because the lines are too busy. :mad:
 
I had my dad buy my phone since I'm on my parents family plan still for obvious cost saving reasons. Today it changed to processing (with a 9/21 date... whew! :D) and he was able to change his address to my address. Here's hoping everything goes smoothly with the address change and I get it next Friday!
 
Ordered about 8.12 AM UK time.

Now preparing to be shipped! :D

Seems like the only orders that have moved to "prepared for shipment" are European ones so far.
 
I ordered mine around 2:05 Central Time. Quick fast smooth and easy. Payment taken and everything. Having said that my delivery date (9/21) hasn't changed but since then it has been "processing". now with other status changes I have been notcing Is there an email you should get that it's been "processed"? I've also seen some posts saying "preparing for shipment" is their new status.

so it seems I'm not the only one! glad to know.. I ordered through sprint though, so I'm unsure of when I can change it.

you obviously misunderstood my post


i dont care that it is still processing...
i DO care that i woke up at 3am and succesfully placed an order...got confirmation that it would ship on the 21st..go back to bed
wake up next morning and date is now oct 5.

then reading people on macrumors who ordered after 4 am and have 21st delivery...and people who ordered from att or verizon who still got launch delivery.
but i couldnt change and order from ATT because now my free upgrade is gone because i cant cancel the other order before all places are sold out

...basically im not too happy that i woke up at 3am and succefully placed the order just to see them change it over night on me..its not like i was near the cutoff or anything..my card went through..no issus
 
Ok this is a mess When I ordered last night I got the message that AT&T was down but ha one on reserve.
I got a email to finish reserving but now some how I have 2 different orders but apple only charged my card once.
Will they just cancel one order or will they ship both phones
I would cancel one order but don't know which one was the one that went true and charged my bank.

I'm on the phone now with corporate since I feel there's an issue regarding unfair arrangement of the pre-order process to favor the West coast over other parts of the country. By making the ordering start at a time which was much more reasonable for west coasters they shut easterners out of the pre-order process. I think there's a class action lawsuit in there.

Hmm its Verizon who keeps forgetting the apartment number for me. I go and enter it and then check back 10 min later and its gone.

If I lived on the West coast it would have been no problem for me to order at 5 minutes after midnight, since I was still awake then. But being here in Ohio I ended up trying to order when I got up at 4am. I got the order in easily enough but it apparently was already too late. The way they set it up it put all those in the eastern part of the US at a disadvantage. That's just plain wrong. And then not anticipating the demand after years of this happening they should have known better.

And why is that? I'm sure millions of people in the eastern US are pissed that they had to wake up in the middle of the night to order and then miss out anyway. That's just plain wrong, and in my opinion actionable.
