3:01am EST placed order via iPhone app, worked almost flawlessly. Noticed that it wouldnt allow me to change my shipping address from my PO Box my carrier has listed. Decided (at 3am half asleep mind you) that I was just going to hit submit. I had no prior knowledge of Apple not shipping to PO Boxes.

3:06am recieved confirmation email from apple, 9/21 arrival.

8:00am arrived at work, login to check order status "there is a problem with your shipping address, we cant ship to PO boxes, please call us...etc"

8:01am I call, wait on hold for 35 minutes. Speak to someone who changes my address and assures me everything is fine.

9:06am I recieve and email from apple saying that they have been trying to contact me that there is a "problem with my shipping address, we cant ship to PO boxes, please call us...etc"

9:07 I call....again. I get the "we cant accept your call due to high volume message"

10:30ish I finally get through, after 45 minutes of hold time. Speak to someone who changes my billing address (the person I talked to previously changed my shipping AND billing address to the same, when its not) This person assures me nothing was held up and that everything is perfectly fine.

3:15 I login to apple store to check status, "there is a problem with your shipping address, we cant ship to PO boxes, please call us...etc"

Seriously Apple? Am I going to have to call again? Did I waste my time getting up at 3:00 to preorder this thing?

Gets even better...

Called again, spoke to someone who went to get a manager after 2 seconds of looking at my order. Tells me I need to agree to the terms and conditions on opw.apple.com/tcat , then gives me my sales order # again. Claims that was the issue.

I go there, type in sales order. "We're sorry, your purchase record could not be found in our system.

Please double check your email and order number or contact us at 1-800-MY-APPLE."



I call again, cant get through now. This is beyond ridiculous now, I may have to jump ship after this mess.
 
Sorry I think the way I wrote it was kinda misleading. What I meant to say is I ordered right after midnight Pacific Standard Time. :)

Ah, gotcha. I was about to be upset at myself for staying up 2 extra hours if you found a way to do it earlier.

so is it possible to change the shipping address on orders placed through the apple store? as in deliver to a business address instead of my billing address?

Yes. The Apple store defaults to the address on your wireless account and doesn't give you the option to alter it, but you can easily go into the order and change the shipping address once it is in processing. I did it for both my orders.
 
I finally did when I had them fix my shipping address since it didn't include my apartment number for some reason. 3 hours in being hung up on or holding and I finally got through. :)

The automated system hangs up on me as soon as I call lol.
 
Jumping ahead a little bit, but maybe somebody experienced this last time around. My preorder went through Apple at roughly 2:10 Central, and I've received my confirmation. The shipping address is my home address, but I won't be there for the delivery next Friday. Can't change the delivery address because they use whatever is on your AT&T bill. Not willing to risk having FedEx leave it on my doorstep with the signature waiver, so does anybody have experience with the hold for pickup? Is this done via the FedEx tracking site? Can I have them hold it at a FedEx Office to pick up on my way home from work on Friday (or Thursday if I'm lucky)?

I think you just wait for them to make an attempt then call the number on the sticker they leave on your door.

Ordered 2 iphone5's at 3:20 am. ET.. Shipping said 2wks.. I cancelled today and preordered through radio shack.. I'm thinking most people won't think to go there.. Dude actually said I was 3rd on the list at that store.. Fingers crossed they get a shipment in by Friday!

When did u order?

2:35am Central time. I forgot my apple user ID.
3:06am central time. I paid and got the 2 weeks shipping date.
3:23pm central time. Got the email saying i'll get it on launch day.

I ordered a white 16GB AT&T through the apple store. I got jammed up until I went into private browsing.

Just be persistent. Literally, I spent 3 hours calling telling them what I wanted to do, giving them my order number, zip code, etc and then be told, " Thanks for calling Apple today. Unfortunately due to the highly expected amount of calls, we are not able to transfer you to a live agent" which then it hangs up. Or I finally managed to get in line of holding and it somehow dropped the call or something. I know my order number by heart now since I had to repeat it at least 50 times. lol
 
Just joining the thread to say I ordered at 3:17 EST via the app, and my order is processing! So excited!
 
I ordered a 64gb white from sprint.com around 6am EST and my order status says "Thank you for pre-ordering the 64G iPhone 5. You are one step closer to getting your phone. Keep an eye out for a shipping email with your tracking information. Your device will arrive on or around September 21. For questions, visit sprint.com/preorder." :D
 
Ordered at 2:30CST and it said next Friday but it is still processing and not preparing for shipment.
 
Alright someone help me out with this one last time... The billing address Verizon has must be the same as the shipping address on the order? Verizon keeps forgetting the apt number when I try to change the address online...

I had the exact same problem( hence my 3 hour ordeal in trying to get through to Apple). Verizon billing address had my full address with the apartment number. Went to Apple.com to preorder and it didn't pull up my apartment number. Went back to Verizon.com, and apartment number was gone. Even after I put it back in, Apple still couldn't pick it up. I decided to order it anyway and call Apple to fix it. Which was eventually done. :)
 
Ok so i ordered the 64G Black Iphone 5 through apple.com at 3:54 am ET. I was up right at 3 like i needed to be but kept trying over and over to get into AT&T website with no luck so decided to try Apple.com and it was down too. Then i came on here and read a nice tip to go to safari, preferences and click apple and delete the data and it worked right away. By the time my order was through it was 3:54 am ET and i was relieved and went back to bed. Then a little bit ago i noticed that it said iphone 5 preorders sold out in an hour and i got scared and rechecked my email and it says 2 weeks to ship and get on October 5th. I ordered within the hour so i don't know why its not Sept 21st. My order is still processing and i've seen others say that there shipping info changed to the 21st even after it said otherwise. Anyone think there is a good chance i still get it on the 21st?
 
Anyone else have this happen?

I ordered at 2:27am CST (reservation e-mail as AT&T upgrade eligibility server wasn't responding).

2:54am CST Received "Complete your iPhone Order e-mail once Apple got the confirmation from AT&T"

2:55am CST Completed the Apple Online Store order from link in e-mail, got e-mail thanking for my order with an order # which shows a shipping of 2 weeks next to iPhone.

About 1:30pm CST I was finally able to get into the Apple Store (was giving the "sorry unknown error all morning/afternoon") and pay for the order at which time I added 2 accessories and checked out. It appears I've been charged the first order value $215.42 without the accessories.

3:02pm CST Received an e-mail from Apple stating order is being processed (this one has a different order # from the first e-mail, and has the iPhone 5 and 2 accessories listed) - but it has "Delivers 9/21" next to the iPhone. When I click on this order # on the e-mail, it goes to the store and shows "Delivers 9/21" next to the iPhone and then separate dates for the accessories.

I am able to bring up both order #'s on Apple.com, the first still shows "Available to Ship: 2 weeks" and the second order with accessories shows "Delivers 9/21"

Now I'm wondering (but doubtful) that they're going to send me 2 iPhones (they've only charged me for one, but neither accessory at this point - even though the order that I submitted my card info was the 2nd one with the accessories and for the higher $$$). I won't mind, charge me for 2 phones at the discounted rate - I'll sell the 2nd one lol. Just trying to figure out an accurate date for delivery (don't want to get my hopes up on this 2nd order information - even though I reserved at 2:27am CST).
