Sort of becoming angry with this entire process.

Vent here---

I dont understand why Apple would rather stock pile phones for launch in stores friday rather than fill my pre-order?

Annoyed by the fact that ATT lost my original "timely" pre-order that would score me shipment with the other cool kids.... instead, ATT canceled my order as the credit card and billing address for ATT were not a match.

On a happy note, Apple is supposed to "upgrade" my shipping to "overnight" for the trouble ATT caused.

Just cranky that I have to wait until October 10th-16th to get my phone according to Apple.com shipment, while others essentially get to "Cut in line" on launch day to get the phone.

Thanks for reading.

Mine moved away and sleeps all day long.

Launch day is a media event and a tradition. Imagine if on launch day no stores had stock. They have units allocated for preorders and units allocated to store stock. How would they manage this without allocation? Pluck preorders out of shipments already designated to stores?

Same.

No serial info on my support profile from apple either. Do I add it or does it just automatically update?

There really is no use trying to track the package before you have a SN. You will be disappointed. If you get a hit using the order number trick, it is likely someone else's phone.

In case you are wondering where all of our i5's are gathering for the party in Louisville, here it is.....they soon will all be saying their goodbyes and making their trips home :)

Great. Now all the android fan boys will know where to plant their bombs.

Mine left Addison!

United States 09/18/2012 12:04 P.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

This is strange... My iPhone is seating at addison IL from 16th and still seatin there...
And I can see other people's Iphone from 17 and this one 18th are already moving...

I hope they didn't forget my phone in corner...

Mine did the same thing.....What the heck is going on?

I just chatting with them. Here is what they said.

Lucila C.: In some cases, routes may not appear to be geographically efficient. However package routing is designed to take full advantage of our delivery network capabilities, which ultimately accelerates the movement of your shipment.

This will not affect the delivery date of your package. Package will be delivered on 09/21/12 as apple has requested

Look boss, da plane, da plane, I think I see it, lol. Although I did watch it flying from Alaska to Louisville on flightaware:cool:

My 64gb black verizon just left Nashville! When I was leaving for work today I bumped into my UPS guy and told him I was expecting an important package on friday and to make sure to ring my doorbell so I don't miss it. Hopefully that helps!

My phone is probably in the same corner.

Saw a UPS truck on my bike ride today. I turned around to try to talk to the driver, but there was a cop and I was afraid he would cite me for illegally maneuvering.

I've decided spending time in this thread is not healthy for me.

i ordered an AT&T black 64G on 9/14 at 1:55AM PDT and it doesn't even ship for 2 more weeks. :(

Why am I not surprised?

9/14 - Pre-order confirmed @ 430am.

9/14 - Status updated to say "Ships in two weeks" around 1230p.

Alright, it's cool. No problem. My 3GS :)eek:) isn't completely dead yet. Just a bit slower and the vibe motor sounds like a growling gerbil.

Sometime between the evening of 9/14 and 9/16 - "Delivers 10/3"

Life is still good. Anticipation isn't all bad.

9/17 - Received this from work, "Hey 'Kei', you have to attend a conference the first week of Oct. Here is your flight/hotel information." ::facepalm::

iP5 says delivers Oct 3, I have to fly out at 630am on Oct 3. Even if I changed my flight, it would be moot. I have to be at the conference hall for check in by 3pm. Usually the delivery guys don't get to our area until around 6 or 7 pm.

Still, it's all good. The phone will be here eventually. Even when I get back, I still have priorities. Give the dogs their cuddles (German Shepherds are jerks and until they get their cuddles you can't do anything else), shower, spend time with the hubby, spend time with the kid, make dinner, eat, more cuddles for the dogs, and then load the phone.

My ******* hubby is a Windows guy who gives me crap for my love of Apple. I do expect having to actually search the house for it anyways. :D

My early order phone always followed along well after my 7 minutes identical later order phone. The later phone order has a order number 74,000,000 below my earlier order, one would have thought they'd be in sequence and closer together. As far as I know, no one here has figured out Apple's inventory control, how they allocate phones, when, and why. It seems the units in warehouses stateside are processed later but there are exceptions.

Its fun trying to solve the riddle.

I'm still waiting for any type of update on my Verizon 64gb black. No tracking information yet.

there must be some secret iphone delivery code in order for the retail stores to receive their shipment before 9/21.....unless they are using fedex to deliver to retail?!?!

ahhhhhh

64gb black at&t ordered around 3:30am 9/14.

the anticipation is driving my absolutely bats*** crazy :p

anybody know where the phones heading to SC end up once they ship from louisville? is it columbia?

You have to tap "tracking" in the very top bar of the UPS page, then on left column select "track by reference". Enter phone number associated in your iTunes account settings in the "Shipment Reference" box. *Enter nothing else, then hit track.

I did exactly this! All I get is a message in red reading that it could not be found or whatever.

Who asked if I got a serial number? Where do I get a serial number?

Mine's been in Louisville since midnight last night and doesn't have a departure scan so it's definitely being held there for at least today if not longer. Final destination is South Florida which is only 2 1/2 hours by plane.

Ditto except final destination is Central FL.

I've resorted to this for keeping up with all the time zone changes, while tracking this phone.

Mine's still in China... lol
