I don't think Apple is allowing ANY redirects if you go through UPS.

I called apple and asked to change the address for me.. and they did it!

this is my UPS

09/18/2012 1:47 P.M. A UPS agent has requested a Proactive Response intercept for this package. / Deliver to Another Address.

If it's a 16gb model (i.e., shipping from U.S.) you can sign up for UPS My Choice (free) and reroute the package to where you would like. If it's a 32 or 64gb model then you can not change the shipping address since it's an international order.

Not all 16GBs are already in the US. My 16GB came directly from China.

Just tried this and apple said that if they request an intercept that it will most likely cause a delay and might not be delivered until monday... ymmv They advised that once the order shows "shipped" to print out the waiver yatta, yatta...

UPS Delivery Address Change Requested

My order is also still in KY but I've been able to at least request (actually $5 via UPS My Choice) that it'd be delivered to the UPS store nearest my work. Not certain if I'll get it on 9/21 but it's worth the try.

09/18/2012 6:33 P.M. My Choice Delivery Change Option has been requested. / Delivery to a UPS Retail Location pending.

Mine says deliver on the 21st but on Apple.com still says processing and no shipping yet. Will I get it on time?

I'm sure you'll be just fine. A lot of people's status hasn't updated. Chill

According to UPS's site at least, it will probably be Monday: I went through to the confirmation page and the estimated delivery to a UPS store is Monday, September 24, 2012

Probably an estimation based on previous deliveries to this location. It may be the time usually hits this area of his route. Ofcourse with the additional volume, especially if your at the end of the drivers route. Your delivery time may change possibly up to 1-2 hrs. Every Apple Delivery will require a signature slowing the drivers day down. Hopefully for the driver & everyone else left waiting on his route you will all be looking out the window waiting, anticipating and be ready when he/she comes to the door!

It may also be based upon type of delivery. My UPS tracking shows next day air as the method of shipment selected by the shipper (Apple). The definition of "Next Day Air" on the UPS web site specifies that the package will be delivered by 10:30, 12:00 or end of day, as selected. My tracking shows delivery by 12:00 (noon), as that is what was apparently selected at the time the shipping was initiated. Maybe this is meaningless; however, it clearly fits into the UPS definition for this type of delivery. It really does not matter to me, though, as long as it shows up on Friday which it is scheduled to do. I live in a fairly small town so I assume their deliveries there will be somewhat less hectic than in one of the large metropolitan areas.

I ordered 3 iphone's between 3 and 3:30 eastern time on friday morning. The first 2 are preparing for shipment while the 3rd is still processing. I read the original post but I was wondering if this is because there is a limit to 2 per customer (I did 3 separate transactions on the apple website). I also changed the shipping info for the 3rd. It says delivers 9/21.

yeah. but as long as the address is fairly close to the previous address.. it shouldnt be a problem, mine is only 30 minutes away. Now if you are trying to redirect to a different state it WILL cause a delay because the package has to be moved and then sent to the new address.. Thats what the UPS guy told me.

So I had ordered a nano sim from AT&T but no tracking ever showed up, after 3 call to CS they said wouldn't ship till Thursday night. Fedex just knocked and dropped it off. Need it because I'm doing an upgrade sawp.

My confirmation page and email have not yet indicated any date either 9/21 or later.

Just an FYI - You realize that it would take two seconds for someone to read the barcode and determine what your SIM number is, right? If you went through the trouble of blocking the numbers, I would highly recommend blocking the barcode too.

I'm willing to bet the house they're shipped 1P, next day priority, meaning 3pm to businesses and by end of day to residential. If they were normal air, it would be 10:30am in most cities regardless business or resi.

You don't need another sim to do a upgrade swap...All you have to do is call ATT and they make the sim that came in the phone activate on a different line. Did it last year with my 4S and will be doing it again with my iP5 this year. The whole phone call only took 5 minutes.

For domestic orders, yes. Just sign up for UPS My Choice, it's a $5 fee to change the delivery address.

It is a 64Gb. And, Technically I changed the address with Apple. Am I just SOL?

If you changed the address while the order was processing, then the ship-to address should have been changed, maybe an error on their part?

Not all 16GBs are already in the US. My 16GB came directly from China.

Did not know that. Did you pre-order with a 9/21 delivery date?

Upgrade swaps don't require a new sim. You just call CS with the details of the SIM in the iPhone 5 and they swap it in the system.

Not for me, phone has to be activated with SIM it ships with, Talked to CS twice already to see if it was the same as last year. They confirmed, had to do the same last year.

While that is true and I hate to say this but UPS technology can only go so far. I worked as a preloader/package handler years ago for both UPS and FedEx. While some damage will come from transporting, a lot of damage comes from package handlers mishandling packages and drivers themselves. Countless times I witnessed drivers kicking and throwing packages in the back of trucks and even straight onto pavement. We even had a FedEx driver (who was terminated) buy a storage unit to keep packages in because he couldn't keep up with his deliveries. You'd be shocked and some of the things that happen to packages during their routes to the destination.

yeah that was my point. I've found that the UPS handlers are more brutal. I ship a bunch of posters and art prints and the "fragile" "don't bend" ect notes put on the tubes seems to increase the chance of the tube being used for UPS baseball.

You know u can figure out the # by the barcode right? Blacking out the # doesn't achieve your desired goal ...
