There are a lot of phones not assigned yet, or the paperwork not done. If it comes off the production line today the phone will still get to you sometime Friday. When Apple sends you a notice something to the effect "sorry we tried our best but can't get the phone to you" I wouldn't worry. I don't think I ever heard of that. I have seen UPS or FEDEX have an issue with weather or equipment that caused some delay.

Dude, mine doesnt even say preparing for shipping yet XD and it says deliver on the 21st. Lets relax. It will likely be there.

I hope so , as I think it's a little unfair, then again, if we get ours at 8am, you guys would have to get up at 3am for delivery and I don't care what is waiting at my front door step , I won't get up at 3am for anything

I agree. Since it is "Next Day Air" I bet everyone's status changes to shipped after 12am tonight, then it will align with next day shipping...
 
Judging by the shipped emails in the UK and Deutschland now. I would say the US pre-orders will get a shipment notification around 9pm Eastern. UK and DE are about 5-6 hours ahead of us on the East coast.
 
My order status still says preparing for shipment, but they took the money out of my account, it's no longer pending and I've been able to track my iPhone on UPS anyway. Hurry up, Friday!

I missed the 8am ordering, and when I got home at 08:45 I thought I'd check and see if I could still pre order. I ordered and was surprised to find that I had made the 21/9 delivery date. I wasn't expecting that at all

It was around 6pm? that I refreshed the page and saw that it had shipped, the last time I checked was around 4pm.

I was updating to iOS6 at the time, so it must have been around 6 or just thereafter.

I think the US packages will be shipped at 6pm. Same time as ours.

actually I was planning on it taking about an hour or two before it would work so I drank coffee. 10 minutes later my order went through and I was wide awake......longest day ever b.c I got to work at 6:00 am and stayed until 6:00pm =/

my goal was to try and go back to sleep though

So mine has been stuck in Louisville for about a day now and still is there, my card has the funds put back on it so waiting now for them to take that back out and get a shipping email from apple,

anyways funny story....Im sitting at home looking for a case to buy, when the ups guy pulls up, I know full well mine is in Louisville tho so I dont pay to much attention then I notice he stops at our building, I get up I just have to at least look and see if it looks like an iphone box...no,.... way too big, I go sit back down, but then a knock at the door! My heart stopped I thought no way, and I was right it was ups but not my package....my G/F got her new boots....
 
Seems that the 'Processing Items' people are very few.

Sucks that I'm lumped in with them.

Got a weird feeling we won't be happy on launch day.

If it was the only phone I ordered, I'd prolly be less concerned. But the white one I ordered my wife has tracking and all that jazz. Charged and everything.

Now she's boasting...

Anyone else's order still marked Processing Items?

I made my order around 3:40am on the 14th, then updated my address around 10:00am (same day). I have been charged the money and my delivery date is still Friday the 21st.

I have tried tracking the package on ups.com-- no luck.
 
Just thought everyone should know.

Since I got a white iphone, and iPhones are extremely powerful, I named my iPhone 5 on the support page, "White Power."

I know this is probably a "your milage may vary" kind of situation, but I figured I'd rather ask than not:

My iPhone is being shipped to my apartment (instead of my work address as I'd intended). Generally, most things shipped to my apartment get taken to the office and signed for there, but I've occasionally had a FedEX item or two that they have had to leave the slip to get my signature and try another delivery.

Obviously, I'd like to avoid that happening to me on Friday. As my item hasn't shipped yet, I don't know which carrier (As I've heard both UPS and FedEX are options?), but I believe there is a form I can print out and sign in advance, but if I use that, can I direct the delivery folks to deliver to the office?

lol, I was expecting the same thing, hence why I didn't stay indoors or take my 4s with me and try and order that way. It was my first time ordering on Apple's website for a launch iphone. I thought "ahh crap, the site will go down and I will never get there in time"

So 08:45 rolls round and I am sipping my tea, thought I'd give it a shot.

I think we are both going to be wide awake when delivery day rolls around. I know I will be getting up at 6am, just in case the buggers come early (as usual) I switched shifts at work and did Monday and Tuesday so I could have the Thurs and Friday off.
 
I'm now even more pumped for Friday to come. AT&T actually turned on LTE in Portland, Oregon today. Boy, I hope the next 2 days pass VERY quickly! :D
 
I called Apple and the lady said expect an email tonight or tomorrow. She said nothing short of a natural disaster will prevent the phone from getting to you on Friday if it says deliver by Friday.
 
Was beginning to worry about the lonnnnnnggg hold in KY, but seems many are in the same situation. Cheers for the excellent thread, starter, and to everyone updating.

Bring on Friday!
